IN G RE DE S R CIA E UT PROFI Miss Ceara Hayden MSc Hons, MA

HEAD OF MARKETING AND ADMISSIONS

Ceara (pronounced ‘Cara’) is a graduate of St Andrews University in Psychology and Mathematics. Ceara thrived in ‘the small grey toon’, becoming the first female recipient of the coveted ‘Principal’s Medal’, received both for her academic contribution but also related to her general character as demonstrated by her involvement with the St Andrews community and her charitable works. Oddly fortuitous that she has now found herself at St Bees - an establishment focused on an equal balance of the two.

Ceara wasn’t ready to leave further education so continued her studies, pursuing her MA in Health Psychology. She was well on the path to becoming a qualified Health Psychologist until an urgent desire to spend a year in teaching got in the way. How different things could have been!

Choosing to ‘take a break’ from University education, Ceara worked for a year at Benenden School - one of the country’s leading Independent Girls’ Boarding Schools in Kent. Ceara wore many hats during her year -

SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM Teacher, Boarding Assistant, Tutor, Activity Coordinator and Mentor - a job which left her exhausted but with a passion for education and for ensuring that every child should achieve their dreams.

However, in a twist of fate, an opportunity arose to become an Editor at the UK’s No.1 Educational Publishing Company – based CGP Books, where Ceara spent seven years - four of them writing Maths, Psychology, 11+ andIN Primary books, before becoming a Senior Marketing Executive.
