The described trilobite fauna occurs in beds immediately underlying the Upper Didymograptus Shale (Llanvim). A total of 34 species belonging to 21 genera are identified. The trilobites consist almost entirely of Baltoscandian types, but a fauna! link to the trilobite fauna of the serpentine Otta Conglomer­ ate in central Norway, and to Western Newfoundland is documented. Five new species are described: Geragnostus hadros n.sp., Ogmosaphus tropidalox n. sp. , Megistaspis (Heraspis) /aticauda n.sp. , Megista­ spis (Megistaspidella) giganteus n.sp., Megistaspis (Megistaspidel/a) maximus n.sp. Other recognised genera include: Carolinites, Telephina, Turgicephalus, Bronteopsis, 11/aenus, Scotoharpes, Cybelurus and Metopolichas as well as the species Asaphus (Neoasaphus) platyurus Angelin, 1854. The latter, in part, documents the presence of the boundary between the Olandian and Viruan Series (Lower and Middle Ordovician) in the Oslo Region. B. T. G. The locality was measured by Skaar (1972) who identified 1.2 m of shaly beds with limestone nodules on top of the Orthoceras Limestone. I have collected and identified only a few specimens from these beds: Asaphus (Asa­ phus)striatus (Boeck, 1838), Cyrtometopus clavi­ fro ns (Dalman, 1827), Megistaspis (Megistaspi­ della) sp. indet., and one ostracod Conchoprimi­ tia sp. The transition beds in the Oslo area are ex­ posed at several localities (Størmer 1953 and Skaar 1972), where less than l m of transition \ beds are present. Com­ ....... n Hov odelen parison with the trilobite faunas from the Gigas Limestone of Sweden and the lowermost part of the Ogygiocaris Series in the Oslo Region shows that 13 of the 15 genera identified from Sweden are in common (86.7%- Simpson 1960, Index 2 of faun al resemblance) (the two genera not iden­ tified be ing Odontopleura and Celmus), and of the 13 identified species 8 are in common (61.5%- Simpson Index 2). In Sweden the boundary between the Olan­ dian and Viruan Series is not recognised on litho­ logical evidence, but only by a sharp fauna! change, the most important being the last occur­ rence of the genus Megistaspis (represented by M. (Megistaspidella) gigas (Angelin, 1851)) and the first appearance of Asaphus (Neoasaphus) (represented by A. (N.)platyurus Angelin, 1854), see: Jaanusson & Mutvei 1953, 1982; Jaanusson 1960b, 1982a, b, c; R66musoks 1960; Mannil 1966; Jaanusson, Larsson & Karis 1982; Jaanus­ son & Karis 1982, and Karis & Larsson 1982. The succession of M. (M.) giganteus (closely re­ lated toM. (M.) gigas) and A. (N.) platyurus at Furnes, strongly indicates the presence of this boundary also in Norway. The range of Megistaspis and Ogygiocaris overlap each other at Vikersundbakken and Helskjær, and Skjeseth (1963, p. 63) also reports O. cf. dilatata fromthe transition beds at Furnes. Although present, only very few specimens of Ogygiocaris are found to occur within the range of Megistaspis, while specimens of Ogygiocaris are common already in the shale, limestone and limestone nodules just above the last occurrence of Megistaspis.In Sweden the Gigas Limestone is succeeded by more limestone development in Vastergotland, Ostergotland, Oland as well as in Jamtland. The only record of Ogygiocaris from these beds is found in Johansson {1977), who reported O. dilatata in a grey limestone bed be­ tween the red Gigas and Platyurus Limestone at Gullhogen, Vastergotland, and specimens of O. sarsi from slightly younger beds at Kinnekulle. Oslo 1999. ISSN 0029-196X. This is Part Il of a two-part description of the trilobite fauna of the Hagastrand Member (Tøyen Formation) in the Oslo, Eiker­ Sandsvær, Modum and Mjøsa areas. In this part, the non-asaphid trilobites are described, while the asaphid species have been described previously. The history and status of the Tremadoc-Arenig Boundary problem is also reviewed, and I have found no reason to insert a Hunnebergian Series between the Tremadoc and the Arenig series, as has been suggested by some workers. Descriptions of the localities yielding this special trilobite fauna are provided. Most of the 22 trilobite species found in the Hagastrand Member also occur in Sweden. The 12 non-asaphid trilobites described herein belong to the families Metagnostidae, Shumardiidae, Remopleurididae, Nileidae, Cyclopygidae, Raphiophoridae, Alsataspididae and Pliomeridae. Abstract Five taxa of the small trilobite genus Atractocybeloides are presented from Middle to Late Ordovician erratic boulders, includ- ing the new species Atractocybeloides nebeni n. sp. and Atractocybeloides oepiki n. sp. The genus was errected in 1991 on the basis of fragmentary material. It evolved from Cybele during Aseri-zone times. A reconstruction is made possible due to new finds and the rich material from the Rhebergen collection, including nearly complete cuticles of A. berneri. Furthermore, Atructopyge gracilis from Norway is assigned to Atractocybeloides. Strong similarities exist to the roughly coeval, small trilo- bite genus Cybeloides, which is known from North America. Abstract: Many well preserved trace fossils were found in erratic boulders and the fossils preserved in them, occurring in the Pleistocene glacial deposits of the Fore-Sudetic Block (Mokrzeszów Quarry, Świebodzice outcrop). They include burrows (Arachnostega gastrochaenae, Balanoglossites isp., ?Balanoglossites isp., ?Chondrites isp., Diplocraterion isp., Phycodes isp., Planolites isp., ?Rosselia isp., Skolithos linearis, Thalassinoides isp., root traces) and borings ?Gastrochaenolites isp., Maeandropolydora isp., Oichnus isp., Osprioneides kamp- to, ?Palaeosabella isp., Talpina isp., Teredolites isp., Trypanites weisei, Trypanites isp., ?Trypanites isp., and an unidentified polychaete boring in corals. The boulders, Cambrian to Neogene (Miocene) in age, mainly came from Scandinavia and the Baltic region. The majority of the trace fossils come from the Ordovician Orthoceratite Limestone, which is exposed mainly in southern and central Sweden, western Russia and Estonia, and also in Norway (Oslo Region). The most interesting discovery in these deposits is the occurrence of Arachnostega gastrochaenae in the Ordovician trilobites (?Megistaspis sp. and Asaphus sp.), cephalopods and hyolithids. This is the first report ofArachnostega on a trilobite (?Megistaspis) from Sweden. So far, this ichnotaxon was described on trilobites from Baltoscandia only from the St.

Oslo ISSN 0300-949l. ISBN 82-00-04963-9. The species Pl. (Placoparia) cambriensis, Pl. (Coplacoparia ) tournemini and Pl. (Coplacoparia ) borni, described by Hammann (1971) from the Spanish Ordovician, are found in Brittany in formations attributed to the Llanvirn and the LIandeilo. The lateral borders of the librigenae of Pl. (Coplacoparia) tournemini and Pl. (Coplacoparia ) borni bear depressions into which the distal ends of the thoracic pleurae and the tips of the first pair of pygidial ribs come and fit during enrollment. These depressions, or coaptative structures sensu Cuenot (1919), are also to be observed in Pl. (Placoparia) zippei and Pl. (Hawleia) grandis, from the Ordovician of Bohemia. However, in the species tournemini and borni, additional depressions appear on the anterior cephalic border, and the coaptations evolve towards an increasing complexity. From Pl. (Placoparia) cambriensis, an ancestrai form with a wide geographic distribution, two distinct populations se em to have individu· alised by a process of allopatric speciation; one of these, probably neotenous, is represented by Pl. (Coplacoparia ) tournemini (Massif Armoricain and Iberian Peninsula), the other by Pl. (Placoparia ) zippei (Bohemia). An easy-to-navigate pocket guide to the Meeting is also available to delegates. Venue The Annual Meeting will take place in the faculties of Philosophy and Philology on the Blasco Ibañez Campus of the University of Valencia. The Symposium will take place in the Salon Actos Manuel Sanchis Guarner in the Faculty of Philology. The main meeting will take place in this and a nearby lecture theatre (Salon Actos, Faculty of Philosophy). There is a Metro stop just a few metres from the campus that connects with the centre of the city in 5-10 minutes (Line 3-Facultats). Alternatively, the campus is a 20-25 minute walk from the ‘old town’. Registration Registration will be possible before and during the Symposium at the entrance to the Salon Actos in the Faculty of Philosophy. During the main meeting the registration desk will continue to be available in the Faculty of Philosophy. Oral Presentations All speakers (apart from the symposium speakers) have been allocated 15 minutes. It is therefore expected that you prepare to speak for no more than 12 minutes to allow time for questions and switching between presenters. We have a number of parallel sessions in nearby lecture theatres so timing will be especially important.

    The Viruan (Middle Ordovician) of Öland By Valdar Jaanusson ABSTRACT.-The stratigraphy and lithology of the Viruan (Middle Ordovician) Iimestones of the bed-rock of Öland are described based on three bares and on field work in the outcrop area. A combined litho- and bio-stratigraphic classification (termed topo-stratigraphic) is introduced for the described sequence. The names of the Estonian stages (Aserian, Lasnamägian, Uhakuan, and Kukrusean) are used as chrono-stratigraphic references instead of the previous Swedish names of the units of stage category (Platyurus, Schroeteri, Crassicauda, and Ludibundus, re­ spectivcly). New topo-stratigraphic divisions are Segerstad Limestone (of Aserian age), Skärlöv, Seby, and Folkeslunda Limestones (of Lasnamägian age), Furudal, Källa, and Persnäs Lime­ stones (of Uhakuan age), and Dalby Limestone (of Kukrusean age in the bed-rock of Öland). The Aserian Lasnamägian topo-stratigraphic divisions have the same lithological characteris­ and tics throughout Öland. The Uhakuan beds are developed as calcilutites (Furudal Limestone) on southern Öland continuing as a tongue (Källa Limestone) on northern Öland. The middle and upper part of the Uhakuan beds of northern Öland consist of calcarenites (Persnäs Limestone) lithologically indistiguishable from the Kukrusean Dalby Limestone which forms the bed-rock only on northern Öland. Within the Segerstad Limestone two zones are distinguished (z. of Angelinoceras latum and z. of Illaenus planifrons).H ouvr ' s zones of Lituites discors, L. lituus, and L. perfectus are of Lasna­ mägian age, and their stratigraphic position and fauna! characteristics are described. Det er ei utfordring at pasientar blir sendt rundt til ulike sjukehus for å få rett behandling. Dette gjeld spesielt på områda lungemedisin, onkologi, gynekologi, radiologi og psykiatri. Dei prehospitale tenestene er ikkje tilstrekkelege i Valdres, og det er behov for styrking av desse. For Valdres er lokalmedisinsk senter ein viktig del av det heilskaplege helsetilbodet, og det er behov for å utvikla innhaldet og tenestene i desse. 2) Den primære strukturen meiner vi bør vera eit nytt storsjukehus med akuttfunksjon plassert ved Mjøsbrua. Dette kombinert med ei styrking av dei prehospitale tenestene ved storsjukehuset og lokalmedisinske senter. Dette vil gjera det lettare å rekruttera fagpersonell, og dessutan samla og utvikla spisskompetanse som vil komma pasientane til gode. Ei sekundær løysing inneber ei alternativ plassering av storsjukehuset. Vi vurderer vidareføring av dagens struktur som ei dårleg løysing. 3) Til pkt.1 i prosjektrapporten: Vestre Slidre kommune meiner storsjukehuset skal ligga ved Mjøsbrua Til pkt. 9 i prosjektrapporten: Vestre Slidre kommune støttar utvida satsning på spesialisthelsetenester ved lokalmedisinske senter. Det lokalmedisinske senteret bør vidareutviklast som ein arena for samhandling med kommunane i området.
