Digital Publications: (after tenure) English Medieval Architecture: A Model for Design Process Analysis (author, ongoing). Focused on Southwell Minster, this publication features the digital models in progress for an ongoing investigation of the medieval design process. Typical of English medieval churches, Southwell incorporates fabric from a wide range of periods. The emphasis of the analysis is on establishing to what degree the physical structure of the extant fabric has a determining effect on the form of the later medieval additions through the development of multi-dimensional dynamic models for a series of case studies. www.medievalarchitecture.org

The Travels of Ibn Jubayr: An Interactive Exhibit, curator, Spring 2013 This site features exhibitions developed by the students in my course “On Hajj with Ibn Jubayr: Reconstructing the 12th Century Mediterranean” using the newly developed Neatline tool (www.neatline.org). The course developed exhibits that animated the diary of the twelfth century pilgrim, Ibn Jubayr. We explored how Damascus and Aleppo have changed over time as well as Aleppo’s ongoing destruction. Another exhibits looks at how the hajj functions spatially as well as how Mecca is changing over time. See in particular “The Evolution of Hajj” http://ibnjubayr.lib.virginia.edu/the-evolution-of-the-hajj and “Ibn Jubayr’s Journey through Damascus” http://ibnjubayr.lib.virginia.edu/ibn-jubayrs- journey-through-damascus For all student work see: http://ibnjubayr.lib.virginia.edu/view-exhibits Reilly/CV 4

Professional Development:

Hybrid Challenge Grant, Office of the President, University of Virginia, 2013-14 I received this grant to redesign one of the departmental core courses, ARH 1010, to incorporate more active learning strategies in the classroom and as well as integrate technology into the course design.

Academy of Teaching Fellowship, Technology Infused Teaching Project, University of Virginia, 2012-13 With this fellowship, I designed and led a faculty program on integrating use of technology into the classroom to enable undergraduate students to learn and use new digital tools. The participants came from throughout the University for a series of regular workshops and colloquia. I used this work to develop the course offered in spring 2013, “On Hajj with Ibn Jubayr: Reconstructing the 12th Century Mediterranean.”

Editor, Gesta 2009-12 Gesta is the leading international scholarly journal for the study of medieval art and architecture. Under my editorship, Gesta was returned to an on-time publication schedule and a major backlog of articles was cleared. I developed an on-line submission process for authors and reviewers and diversified the journal’s content to include scholarship reflecting new methodologies, innovative technologies and a wider range of subjects. Over three years, I edited two issues per year with four articles in each issue.
