To share this release socially: http://bit.ly/2blEq8O For Immediate Release TORONTO, August 29, 2016 – The wait is over. W Network revealed today the last five Bachelors hoping to win Jasmine’s heart in the first season of The Bachelorette Canada. The final group of men includes an international model from Regina, an inventor from Calgary, a musician from Windsor, the Canada’s Crush contest winner from St. John’s and an oilfield equipment operator from Collingwood. Fans can get to know all 20 Bachelors at Wnetwork.com. Jasmine’s journey for love begins with the series premiere of The Bachelorette Canada on September 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on W Network. Today’s Bachelor announcement includes: Thomas, 30 Regina, Sask. International Model After a serious injury put Thomas in a wheelchair and sidelined his construction career, he was forced to take a hard look at his life and his future. He decided it was time to take a leap of faith and entered a local model search in Regina, Sask. Today the 30-year-old travels the world as a successful international model. The extreme highs and lows of his personal journey have shaped Thomas’ Zen approach to life, and now he’s ready to take another leap of faith in order to find the perfect girl to share it with. Chris, 30 Calgary, Alta. Inventor Quirky, clever and funny, Chris is definitely one-of-a-kind. The 30-year-old inventor is a walking encyclopedia of information and cites his intelligence and creativity as his best attributes. Intense and always thinking, Chris describes his ideal mate as someone who is emotionally intelligent, humble, smart and charismatic. While none of his past relationships have lasted, Chris has remained friends with all of his former girlfriends. Now he’s ready to leave the “friend zone” behind to find true love with the Bachelorette. David, 26 Windsor, Ont. Musician David is a born entertainer and he lives his dream every day working as a musician, performing magic tricks for the children at the YMCA and even hosting his own online cooking show. To help him stand out among the 19 other Bachelors, 26-year-old David plans to use a combination of his unique sense of humour and easy-going nature to get the Bachelorette’s attention. He wants the Bachelorette to know he’s a pretty simple guy at heart who is looking to experience life to the fullest with the woman of his dreams. Eddie, 32 St. John’s, N.L. Canada’s Crush Eddie is a 32-year-old proud east-coaster who won over the nation, receiving the most online votes to earn the title of Canada’s Crush and a coveted spot amongst the 20 Bachelors vying for Jasmine’s heart. All of his life, Eddie has worked hard and played harder. Today, he almost has it all: a great job as an oilfield logistics coordinator, lots of friends and a close and loving family. The only thing missing is someone to share it with. Today, he’s ready to put his career - and party lifestyle - on hold to find the love of his life. Taylor, 31 Collingwood, Ont. Oilfield Equipment Operator The guys on 31-year-old Taylor’s oilfield frac crew might be right when they say he’s “too pretty for the patch.” At the very least, he has no problem turning heads with his booming voice and confident air. A family man at heart, Taylor lists his mom as his greatest hero for her resiliency and for always putting the needs of her family first. He is ready to build a family of his own and hopes the Bachelorette will prove to be the girl he can’t live without. With the premiere quickly approaching, fans can still enter the SuperFan contest at wnetwork.com/superfan for a chance to appear on the live Bachelorette Canada Aftershow hosted by Jennifer Valentyne that will follow each episode of The Bachelorette Canada. SuperFans must submit a short, online questionnaire and upload a photo of their best ‘Rose Ceremony Reaction.’ Nine lucky SuperFans will receive round-trip airfare and accommodation in Vancouver and will appear in an episode of the Aftershow. Tara Reid: Engaged and Married All In One Day Just hours after tweeting that she “just got engaged,” Tara Reid tied the knot with her fiancé Zack Kehayov in Greece on Saturday. UsMagazine.com reported that the American Reunion actress recently split from her boyfriend Michael Lilleun. She was also previously engaged to Internet entrepreneur Michael Axtmann, but called it off in April 2010. Even further back, she was engaged to Carson Daly — The Voice host — and they ended their relationship in June 2001. Things might be happening very quickly for Reid, but we wish her all the best. What are the advantages to eloping? Cupid’s Advice: Weddings are expensive and can be stressful to plan. Here is why Cupid thinks eloping can be the best decision for you: 1. Cost: Couples who elope will pay a nominal fee compared to those who have a wedding. Marriage licenses range from $10 (Colorado) to $100 (Minnesota). Your other expenses will only be your outfit, transportation and lodging. 2. No stress: Planning a wedding is stressful. If you elope, you won’t be overwhelmed because all you have to plan is when and where you want to marry the one you love. 3. Avoid drama: If your parents object to the marriage, then avoid the drama the wedding will cause. By eloping, you’ll have a simpler ceremony and won’t have to deal with people who don’t support you both. Do you think it’s a good idea for couples to elope? FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Media Contact: Cheryl McLean 323-512-3822 [email protected] Reality TV Personality Chris Harrison Partners with Seagram’s Escapes: New Flavor Seagram’s Escapes Tropical Rosé to Hit Shelves this February Rochester, NY – One of reality TV’s most beloved stars is teaming up with one of America’s favorite alcoholic beverage brands, and they’re a perfect match. Reality TV host and social media giant, Chris Harrison, is expanding into the alcoholic beverage space with a brand-new Seagram’s Escapes flavor: Tropical Rosé. The rosé style drink has just 100 calories, similar to seltzers, but is packed with much more taste and made with natural passion fruit and dragon fruit flavors. Tropical Rosé clocks in at 3.2 percent alcohol-by-volume and will be available nationally in four packs of 12-ounce cans starting in February. Harrison has been fully immersed in what is his first alcohol partnership, working closely with the Seagram’s Escapes team to craft the new drink’s flavor, name and packaging. “Creating Tropical Rosé has been a really hands-on experience for me,” said Harrison. “From the very beginning, I traveled with the Seagram’s Escapes team to their flavor house in Chicago to pick just the right color and the perfect fruit flavors. After we were happy with the drink, I had the opportunity to choose the name and weigh in on everything from packaging to advertising. I’m proud of Tropical Rosé and can’t wait for everyone to finally taste it.” “We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to partner with Chris and to share this drink with both our fans and his,” said Lisa Texido, Seagram’s Escapes brand manager.

  • Annual Report |2016
Annual report | 2016 $500 million Commitment worth celebrating! Marking our $500,000,000 milestone in financing for Canada’s independent television & film community Proud to support Canadian television & film — and even prouder of the results Half a billion … and counting As industry insiders, we know just how much work — and money — it takes to create great television and film. So in 1980, we launched our first fund to support Canada’s independent producers. Since then, we’ve invested a total of $532,039,665 in nearly 2,000 productions via four different funds and programs. And while we’re tremendously proud of that contribution, we’re even prouder of the results. Many of these productions have attracted critical acclaim and awards, including Emmys, Rockies and fistfuls of Geminis, Genies and Canadian Screen Awards. They’ve premiered at Cannes, TIFF and Sundance and been broadcast around the world. Most importantly, they’ve contributed to a rich and diverse Canadian culture. In 2016, we committed $28.2 million in 113 productions that ran the gamut from serious to seriously entertaining: from exposés and insight-packed documentaries to edgy comedy and absorbing dramas. Now, thanks to recent changes to the CRTC rules governing Certified Independent Producer Funds, we’ll have the flexibility to support an even broader range of productions, including co-ventures. At the Rogers Group of Funds, we believe in supporting great television and film. It’s why we’ve invested more than half a billion dollars to date. And it’s why we’ll continue to offer Canadian independent producers a vital source of funding in the years to come.

Living Happily Ever After? : The Reinforcement of Stereotypical Gender Roles on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette Erin Victoria Klewin William E. Stanwood, Thesis Advisor Boston College May 2007 Acknowledgments There have been many people over the past year who have in one way or another helped and participated in the creation of this senior thesis. First and foremost, I dedicate this thesis to my family for encouraging me to undertake this project and challenge myself, and for helping me push through even at the most stressful of times. They have given me endless love and support my entire life and have never stopped believing in me, and I am eternally thankful to them. I also want to thank my advisor, Professor Bill Stanwood, for his countless hours of guidance, support and optimism. Coming in as my advisor later than normal, he has been optimistic and excited about this project from day one. Constantly available and willing to help, he has had such confidence in my abilities. This thesis would not be what it is today if not for Professor Stanwood’s direction and continual support, and I feel privileged to have had him as my advisor. Finally, I want to thank the Communication Department and the Arts & Sciences Honors Program of Boston College for affording me the opportunity to engage in such a challenging yet fulfilling project. It has been a tremendous learning experience and one which I am incredibly thankful for! i Table of Contents Abstract..............................................................................................................................
