Tara Reid: Engaged and Married All In One Day

Just hours after tweeting that she “just got engaged,” Tara Reid tied the knot with her fiancé Zack Kehayov in Greece on Saturday. UsMagazine.com reported that the American Reunion actress recently split from her boyfriend Michael Lilleun. She was also previously engaged to Internet entrepreneur Michael Axtmann, but called it off in April 2010. Even further back, she was engaged to Carson Daly — The Voice host — and they ended their relationship in June 2001. Things might be happening very quickly for Reid, but we wish her all the best.

What are the advantages to eloping?

Cupid’s Advice:

Weddings are expensive and can be stressful to plan. Here is why Cupid thinks eloping can be the best decision for you: 1. Cost: Couples who elope will pay a nominal fee compared to those who have a wedding. Marriage licenses range from $10 (Colorado) to $100 (Minnesota). Your other expenses will only be your outfit, transportation and lodging.

2. No stress: Planning a wedding is stressful. If you elope, you won’t be overwhelmed because all you have to plan is when and where you want to marry the one you love.

3. Avoid drama: If your parents object to the marriage, then avoid the drama the wedding will cause. By eloping, you’ll have a simpler ceremony and won’t have to deal with people who don’t support you both.

2’ Recap Episode 2: Ames Brown Trumps them All By Lori Bizzoco

Usually when a former Bachelor or Bachelorette leaves the show voluntarily, like two-time ‘Bachelor Pad’ contestant and swimsuit model, did last night, it becomes the episode news headliner the next day. But last night’s storybook ending even knocked out coverage of the attention- seeking love triangle usually reserved for , Vienna Girardi and Kasey Kahl. It was a scene that leaves us understanding why even bad reality shows are beating out long- standing soap operas. You can’t make this stuff up!

Last night there were two scenes that made single women everywhere believe in love again. First was the closing scene with Ivy-League, world-traveling, portfolio manager, Ames Brown. After he said a heartfelt good-bye to his newfound love and eliminated housemate, Jackie Gordon he turned around to head back towards the house. What happened next made hearts stop everywhere. Instead of continuing his walk toward the contestants, Ames slowly stopped, raised his hand and waved good-bye to them. Giving up the $250,000 prize, he sprinted back towards the limousine with Jackie inside. That fairy-tale exit trumped everything else on the show and gives romance fanatics a reason to believe that Mr. Right is a possibility, especially if you go after the awkwardly smart, rich guy wearing the hot pink pants. In Ames’ own words, “This is the happiest limo ride in Bachelor history.”

The second love scene comes with ex’s, Michael Stagliano and children’s book author, Holly Durst. They just ended their engagement two months before the show taped and haven’t had the chance to talk it out. During last night’s episode, they finally get some one-on-one time and share their thoughts with one another, but their emotional exchange and gripping embrace is almost impossible to watch without your heart feeling heavy or routing for them to get back together. Watching them express their feelings and Michael telling Holly he still loves her with tears in his eyes is enough to make you want to jump through the television and slap them silly for being so blind. Get back together, already!

Mysterious Monday

There was an odd, eerie undertone on last night’s Bachelor Pad 2, with egg fights, haunted hospital tours and a masked man creeping around the kitchen at the end. Yes, mysterious Monday came with love, drama and a fairy tale ending but it makes you wonder for a minute if the show is preparing for Halloween a little too soon.

Egg Toss Challenge:

Let’s begin with Pad 2 challenge. The women were asked a handful of questions relating to the men on the show (Who are you least attracted to? Who do you want to see go home?) and with colored paint-filled eggs in hand the women threw their responses directly at the backs (or shoulder, legs and head) of their intended target.

Thanks to Vienna’s campaigning, Jake displayed a colorful array of red, yellow and blue on his body when the ladies were asked who they wanted to see go home next. Then the reverse scenario happened and the men targeted the women with eggs. However, the pain ran deeper than the physical impact as Erica was selected as the least attractive in the house. That definitely stung in more ways than one, especially when Michael Stigliano forgot that he wasn’t on the field and pitched a fast ball at Erica. The objective of the challenge was to be the person who hit the most targets.

Challenge Winners: Melissa Schreiber and Michael Stigliano ended up winning the challenge.

Immunity and Dates:

Instead of taking one person on a date, Melissa and Michael were granted the chance to each take three members of the opposite sex, with one of them being given the rose at the end. Without surprise, Michael chose Holly (his ex-fiancé), Michelle Money (who is our fan favorite) and Erica (sympathy choice). As if it wasn’t awkward enough having two former lovers on a date together, the group was taken by limousine to Linda Vista, a haunted hospital. Didn’t Michael win (not lose) the challenge? It seemed like a strange reward. I guess it’s all about staying on the show and with that, Michael gave Holly the immunity rose.

When it came to Melissa’s date, she got the luxury of going on a yacht date with her chosen three: Kirk Dewindt, Blake Julien and Kasey Kahl. Kasey was a bit of a shocker pick at first but Melissa did have a strategy in place. Her plan, she explained to Kasey, was to align with him promising to give him the rose and save him if he saved her next time. Unfortunately, that was before two-timing dentist, Blake (who has a thing for Holly), played into Melissa’s weakness by flirting, touching, sweet-talking and going in for a kiss during their one-on-one time. Melissa reneged on her promise to Kasey and gave Blake the rose instead.

Back at ‘The Pad’:

Jake, Vienna and Kasey: Tension was high as Jake did what he could to stay in the house, offering not once, but twice to speak to Vienna. Whether he’s really sincere or just trying to redeem himself for the cameras is yet to be seen, but Vienna wasn’t having any of it. She continued to escalate the drama and complain about Jake being in the house. That is until put her in her place, showing her the exit doors and letting her know that she wasn’t being forced to be there. Could it possibly be that he’s had enough of her drama, too? He even called out how nicely previously engaged Michael and Holly got along. Oh, Vienna!

Melissa, Blake and Holly:

Talk about another messed up love triangle. Blake likes Holly (or so it seems) and he’s been ignoring Melissa. This is all after Melissa spent a romantic evening with Blake on the yacht and gave him a rose instead of Kasey who she promised. We’re not sure how long Blake will be around, or can keep it up but someone’s about to have a meltdown.

Gia and Graham:

First she got duped by Jake when he didn’t save her last week and gave a rose to Vienna instead. Now, her friend Graham stabs her in the back by disclosing her plan to break-up the power couples. He went to Kasey and told him. Although Gia has been on the ‘Bachelor Pad’ before and she knows how the game is played, she decides to leave the mansion voluntarily. Why risk her dignity of being kicked off by the contestants or her integrity of being deceitful to friends for the mere chance at $250,000? Or, at least that was her reason for leaving. Will she be back next summer? We doubt it. Maybe the next Bachelorette, now that would be fun.

Predictions:

I guess we can cancel Ames out for our early prediction, although he’s a winner in our eyes. We’re still going strong with Michelle Money, Michael Stagliano and Ella Nolan.

Funny Girl Tina Fey Welcomes a Baby Daughter

Tina Fey’s comedy troupe just got bigger. The funny girl welcomed daughter Penelope Athena on Wednesday, reports People. The 30 Rock actress, 41, is already mom to 5-year-old Alice with husband Jeff Richmond, 50. During her “easy” second pregnancy, Fey joked with Ellen Degeneres about waiting discover her baby’s gender. “I’m just going to see what it chooses to wear to prom,” said Fey.

What are the advantages of waiting to find out the gender of your child?

Cupid’s Advice:

Though discovering your child’s gender can soothe your curiosity, waiting for the surprise does have advantages. Here are a few:

1. Surprise: Nothing can beat the surprise of meeting your son or daughter for the first time. If you know the gender beforehand, some of that initial surprise will have disappeared when you finally give birth.

2. Guessing games: Guessing the gender of your baby can be very entertaining. Researching old wives’ tales or even taking a poll amongst your friends is a great way to raise excitement. In fact, it could make a great baby shower game.

3. No stress: While ultrasounds are nearly always correct, they do make mistakes. If you’re on a budget, it may be better to prepare for a child of either gender. If you prepare for a girl and end up with a little boy, you may have a lot of new shopping to do.

By Olivia Baniuszewicz and Debra Goldstein

We were eating dinner the other night with our best guy friend, and the topic turned to sexting. Not too soon after, he handed us his cell phone to show us close to a hundred naked photos of different girls. Can you believe he actually created a folder on his phone to archive them because there were so many? Sigh. Anyways, all of these girls sent him photos for one reason and one reason alone …because he asked. He didn’t think twice about showing them to us nor is he shy about sharing them with his boys.

Ladies, we don’t particularly want to see your privates on our friend’s phone, in the news (yes, you Andrew Weiner, Blake Lively, Vanessa Hudgens…) or anywhere else for that matter. We thought a nice refresher on some do’s and don’ts of sexting may be just what we all need to keep our privates, well, private.

What is Flirtexting? Flirtexting is what you do in the beginning stages of a relationship to build a connection.

What is Sexting? Sexting is sending suggestive flirtexts that are bold and blunt and used to spice up an existing relationship.

Do’s:

– Sexts should be used by mature adults in a committed relationship to avoid risky backlash – Stay classy by sending simple sexts telling him what you want to do when you see him later, or what you plan on wearing – Use the casual and safe environment of text to forgo shyness by sexting to reveal your fantasies – Spark fire in a long distance relationship with an exciting bedtime sext – Send a flirtext to spice up an existing relationship during work – Less is more, send sexy photos of new lingerie or a picture of your legs to get him aroused

Don’ts:

– Never include your face in a naked photo text. – Avoid your kids seeing these photos by deleting them immediately from your phone after sending them. – Don’t reveal everything in a text message exchange, leave him wanting more. – Stay away from racy photos unless you’re in a serious relationship to avoid unwanted leaks and criticism.

You Should Know:

– Guys have said that they will often test girls by sending them a sext to see how they will respond. – Nothing is going to happen if you refuse to take it all off for a sext, except for maybe gaining more respect from the person asking you for it. – Unlike phone sex, you don’t need to be anywhere private to send a sexy text.

Flirtexting: How to Text Your Way into his Heart is a dating guide that spells out the rules, the guidelines and the do’s and don’ts of the dating phenomenon of flirting over text message. “We date, therefore we text,” was Debra Goldstein and Olivia Baniuszewicz’s motto and inspiration for writing Flirtexting. Once guys stopped calling and started courting them over text, they decided to equip themselves, their friends, and the greater cell carrying public, with the tools to cleverly respond to get what they want. www.flirtexting.com

Justin Beiber Plays Cupid for Kendall Jenner It appears as if Justin Beiber is extending his talents outside of music and into the matchmaking industry. The 17-year-old singer has been trying to set up friend Kendall Jenner with his writer/producer buddy Julian Swirsky. Her response, “Only if you and Selena Gomez join us. Double date,” she tweeted Tuesday. However, Jenner may not have time to date. The Kardashian 15 year-old kid-sister will be the new face of Leah Madden’s summer 2012 swimwear campaign, Pirouette.

What are the advantages to trusting your friends to set you up on dates?

Cupid’s Advice:

It’s always good to have faith in your friends, but how relevant is that in the dating realm? Cupid takes a look at the pros:

1. Trust the right friends: You may want to ask your friend what their motives are for setting you up. If they seem less than admirable, then be cautious.

2. ‘The Right Stuff’: The ideal friend sets you up with someone who compliments you very well or someone with which they see you having a good time. 3. Awkward turtle: On your blind date, try to make it more of a social gathering, because it helps ease tension and should help prevent some awkard moments.

He Said/She Said: David Good and Natalie Getz Chat about the Season Premiere of Bachelor Pad 2

By Jennifer Harrington On Monday night, we were treated to a three-hour season premiere of Bachelor Pad 2. As promised, we were reunited with some of the most controversial characters in franchise history, including Jake, Vienna, Rated R and Michelle Money. In case you missed the episode, read our recap to get caught up, and check out our inside scoop from the winners of the last season of Bachelor Pad, David Good and Natalie Getz. These two definitely know the game, so we were interested on their take on the first night of action in “the pad”!

Did it surprise you to see Jake confront Kasey so honestly and directly on the first night? And along those same lines, were you shocked to hear that Jake had so many unresolved feelings regarding Vienna?

David: That was all BS. Jake doesn’t have feelings for her. f he really wanted to say those things, there are plenty of ways to get in touch with her besides doing it on national television. He only did that for more publicity. he same reason he said God sent him back to save Jillian from Wes. It’s so insincere it makes me sick watching it. The guy should have a shiny red nose on at all times because he is a clown. I do have to give him credit though because he knows how gullible America is and he’s actually really good at what he does.

Natalie: I was completely shocked when Jake told Gia and Jackie that he still loves Vienna. What a joke! I don’t buy it for one second. The only reason he pulled Kasey aside was so that he didn’t get his ass kicked! Also, Jake wants to look like the good guy at any cost. Of course, he is playing the fans and trying to get back in their good graces by “being the bigger person.” If we only knew what was going on in that guy’s head … I can bet all my money his actions are all a front. He won’t last long in this house at all.

Was it a brilliant or stupid move for Jake to give Vienna a rose to keep her safe? David: As far as the game goes it was really stupid. As far as a publicity stunt, genius! I don’t care for the guy, but you have to give credit where credit is due. He works this show to his advantage for publicity better than anyone I have ever seen. It’s really something to watch.

Natalie: Jake’s only concern is getting back in the good graces of Bachelor fans. He has had so many opportunities to apologize to Vienna. He is always in L.A.! I would like to see a real side of Jake, but that isn’t going to happen. He is so concerned with his image that he doesn’t care about the game. I guarantee he went on just to clean up the mess he caused last year when their breakup aired. Saying he still loves Vienna? Really, Jake? As far as Vienna is concerned, she is playing the game very well. She isn’t falling for his BS and she still wants him out of the house. She isn’t being mean; she just knows Jake more than any of us and doesn’t trust him at all.

The chemistry between Ames and Jackie was apparent from the first night — but they chose not to partner up for the first challenge (“Hook Up”). Your thoughts about this strategy?

David: That was funny. The first morning of the show, they are by the pool making out? I like them for each other though. I think they are both awesome. I thought it was a good move not partnering up this early on though. If you think about it, now you not only have each other’s backs, but you brought two more people into the equation that have your back as well.

Natalie: Ames and Jackie were brilliant for not partnering up for two reasons. 1.) They are trying to stay under the radar. They don’t want anyone thinking that they are a power couple right off the bat. 2.) If they separate themselves for competitions, that means they double their chances of winning. If Ames wins and Jackie doesn’t, he can give her the rose and vice versa. If they were a team, they only have 1 shot at keeping each other safe. Dave and I worked this strategy in our “Kissing” challenge last season.

Last season and this season, it seems that Gia is always feeling vulnerable going into the rose ceremonies. Why do you think she is always on the verge of being eliminated, and do you think there is a chance she will advance far this season?

David: Gia’s problem is she lies to herself and everyone around her. She plays the sweet card but is very vindictive. She did that on our season, too. She asks, “why can’t everyone be honest and just get along.” Then, she lies to everyone and makes up stories that aren’t even true. Wherever she is, drama is not far away, hence the reason she is back for this season. It’s kind of funny to watch because I really don’t know if she knows she is doing it and actually believes she is not. Jesse Kovacs and I used to laugh so hard listening to her on Bachelor Pad 1. It’s a terrible strategy and is the reason she is always on the verge of elimination. I like Gia as a person, but some of her bad qualities come out in these situations.

Natalie: I don’t think Gia will go very far this season, because she has a huge red flag on her back for already being a competitor last season. Also, Gia always forms a group with the outsiders, and this just doesn’t work. The insider group is always the strongest group. They have strong bonds and connections and wouldn’t play both sides like an outsider would, for example: Ali and Rated R. Gia should have partnered up with Graham. They were friends before the show and he would be a good partner. Instead she chose Jake who no one really cares for. I don’t understand what she was thinking! I wanted her to go far. I love Gia!

Thoughts on this week’s eliminated contestants — Rated R and Ali. Why do you think the group chose to get rid of them so quickly? And, with them gone, who do you think is most vulnerable next week? David: Rated R and Ali got sent home because they were trying to play both sides of the fence and got caught. As in real life, if you do this you will eventually get caught and when you do, not only one side comes down on you but both will and boom – you’re sent packing! It’s a terrible strategy because people will talk to each other and find out. I think Jackie and Ames have to be careful here. I have not seen them take a side yet and are freelancing around, which can make them an easy target.

Natalie: On my season, Juan left the first night because we caught him making alliances with everyone. Literally everyone! He was trying to play both sides like Rated R. When you play both sides, you are absolutely going to get caught! Rated R should have done his homework. BTW most humiliating limo exit of all time! Made some great TV! Ali seems to be a little ditzy to me. How could she not realize she was on the chopping block when she too was playing both sides? She didn’t even try very hard to clean up her mess once she found out she was up for elimination. She isn’t cut out for this game at all.

Be sure to tune in to ABC next Monday night for the next installment of Bachelor Pad 2. While you’re watching, send us your questions (via Facebook or Twitter) to ask David and Natalie — it’s a great way to get an experts take on the romance, drama and strategy in the most popular house in America this summer!

8 Alternative Wedding Trends for 2011

By Cara Davis

Today’s brides and grooms aren’t settling for what has always been done. They’re infusing creativity, personality, cultural trends and most of all, they’re having fun. They’re creating memorable experiences not just for themselves, but for friends and family who contribute to their big days.

Author and marketing guru Seth Godin recently spoke at a Chick-fil-A Leadercast about how the new normal is not normal at all. People are questioning why we do things the way we do, thereby turning tradition on its head. It’s affecting all industries, including the wedding industry.

Here’s a look at eight alternative wedding trends that are popping up in 2011:

1. Mini Wedding Dresses: Whether it’s glammed up, vintage or breezy casual, knee-length wedding dresses are more practical and personalized for today’s bride. As more stores roll out wedding boutiques like J.Crew and White House Black Market, brides can pick up a wedding dress from their favorite retail store. And let’s not forget that for some, that’s Etsy, where they can pick up a custom hand-made gown for as little as $40.

2. Fun with Color: From black accents to bold color blocks, color is king this year and it’s not limited to the bride! Non-matching bridesmaids are coordinating in patterns or complementary color combinations like this crafty DIY wedding of mega-blogger Elsie Larson. In addition to bold color palettes, shades of gray and stripes continue to be the big color trend for the year.

3. Alternative Gift Registries: Many couples are registering for gifts that will help them in a practical way. Travel agencies are starting to offer honeymoon gift certificates and some auto dealers are offering gift certificates toward the purchase of a new vehicle. CardAvenue.com allows couples to create a gift card registry for national retailers. Couples can get as creative as they want; they can request gift cards to home improvement stores to offset costs of home renovation or register for local restaurants so they can continue dating as newlyweds on a budget.

4. Punchy Personalization: While the structure of the wedding remains the same, (you’ve got a bride and groom, an officiant, a group of family and friends, a ceremony and reception) the look is anything but. The time may be different (think brunch), the seating may be smarter (seated at tables & staying put for reception), the furniture may be funky (varying size and shape or non-traditional choices) and forget the wedding favors – today’s couples are giving personalized takeaways, like souvenir photo booth picture strips.

5. Eco-friendly Finds: Outdoor spaces, reclaimed furniture, flea market finds and even wooden rings are helping eco- conscious brides and grooms celebrate in a big way without the environmental impact. Green weddings can feature locally grown food and seed-lined wedding invitations that can be planted.

CarbonFund and Terrapass offer wedding carbon footprint calculators, where air travel is most likely to be the big offender. Couples can purchase carbon offsets to lessen the impact, or request contributions as gifts.

6. The Rustic South: There’s been a rise in rustic weddings in the past several years and it mirrors a growing hunger in popular culture for all things Southern (think The Civil Wars, J.Crew fashion, artisan jeans and home-brewed beer). Today’s vintage and rustic weddings are all about embracing simplicity and infusing new life into old things. From location (barns or old warehouses) to furniture & decor (antiques and flea market favorites) to apparel (vintage clothes and even broach bouquets), many couples are going for the nostalgic feel of the old South.

7. Cultural Cues: Couples who are looking to add levity to their big day are incorporating pop culture trends. Food cart fare is showing up in pre-wedding cocktail hour and the after- party. Culturally significant themes like retro Asian flavors and ethnic icons like sushi, ninjas, geisha girls and Chinese lanterns are being used in inventive ways. Vintage board games are showing up as Monopoly pieces in bouquets and Scrabble letter tiles as signs for the buffet.

8. Death of the Wedding Cake:The exorbitant cost of traditional tiered wedding cakes has given way to nontraditional desserts like square mini-cakes and cupcake tiers. Furthermore, dessert buffets may feature pies, macaroons, Whoopie Pies, cake pops, color-coordinated candy and even ice cream sundae stations or cookies and milk bars.

‘Bachelor Pad 2’ Recap Episode 1: Jake Pavelka Gives Vienna Girardi a Rose

By Lori Bizzoco

Broken engagements, boyfriend stealing and love triangles galore. Welcome to this summer’s most anticipated show, Bachelor Pad 2. ABC pulled out all the stops when collecting the current list of castoffs from seasons past. We watched like animals in heat tonight, glued to the television witnessing one of the most talked about and controversial casts this summer. Is it a coincidence that all the references noted above point back to one person: Vienna Girardi? Hmmm, it leaves us wondering if the show would even be worth the three hours it premiered if it wasn’t for her and Jake Pavelka’s drama-induced past.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Vienna and Jake, it’s safe to say that they’ll probably go down in The Bachelor history as the most remembered (not in a good way) contestants. She won the love and proposal of Bachelor, Jake Pavelka, Season 14 and broke his heart when she sold their break-up story for $90,000, according to reports. Then, they trashed one another on Primetime television when the relationship ended, and it was so brutal that Vienna stormed out of the interview. They haven’t talked since that fight took place a year ago. Now, they’re both back in the house, under the same roof, competing for the $250,000 grand prize.

Last night we witnessed the first challenge of the season which included each of the 18 contestants partnering up with someone in the house. The men were ousted into the air by harness with the women hanging on to them wherever and however they could. The prize for the couple who lasted longest was full immunity and a rose. With those stakes on the line, it’s no surprise that the challenge came down to Jake and Vienna being the remaining two. Partnering up with Vienna was her new beau and “guard and protect” tattoo-man from ’s season, Kasey Kahl. While Jake partnered with understated Jackie Gordon from ’s season.

It came down to the final four and after thirty minutes, Kasey couldn’t hold on to Vienna any longer. She begged him to hold on so that Jake wouldn’t get immunity, but he couldn’t. Jake and Jackie not only win a rose, but they also have a one-on- one date and get an additional rose to save one other person in the house. Guess who gets the rose and a free ride? Surprise, surprise! Jake convinces Jackie (although it looks like her idea) that he must give the rose to Vienna as a truce; to put closure on his wound that obviously hasn’t healed. Strategic or stupid? It’s most likely stupid, as Vienna laughs about it behind-the-scenes.

One person who clearly states the stupidity of Jake’s rose decision is Vienna’s ex-best friend, and the only two-time Bachelor Pad contestant, Gia Allemand. Gia can’t stand Vienna after finding out that she hooked up with her ex-boyfriend, Wes Hayden. Gia (also on Jake’s season) is good friends with Jake and feels betrayed by his decision to give the rose to Vienna instead of protecting her. Worried that she may now be eliminated, she confronts Kasey in a one-on-one scheme and talks him into an alliance with her. As she’s doing that, Blake is trying to get Jackie to vote off Kasey.

All of this makes for good television, but we can’t forget the other contestants in the house who also have interesting stories:

First, there’s Michael Stagliano and ex-fiance, Holly Durst. We didn’t see too much of their relationship drama tonight, which leads us to believe that producers are saving the best for last. We can’t wait to watch how that plays out. We would love to see them back together, but Holly has admitted to being a commitment-phobe and from the first evening in the house she’s had her eyes on last season’s resident dentist, Blake Julian. It’s a shame for Holly, because the promos clearly highlight that Blake is also caught hooking up in the house with former Brad Womack contestant, Melissa Schreibner. There will be tears.

It also looks like last season’s boxing champ (joke) and nice boy, Ames Brown, has already formed an alliance (and possibly a relationship) with lonely heart, spider-hater (she called Michelle Money a spider), Jackie Gordon. Both Jackie and Ames are New Yorkers, and you can hear them mumbling on last night’s episode about spending time together when they get back to the city. “We should go to Central Park,” Jackie says to Ames. Being the Ivy League-educated gent that Ames is, he’s probably wondering why she couldn’t have thought of anything more unique and original to do.

Then, there’s one of our fan favorites, Utah hairstylist and accredited crazy lady, Michelle Money. For the record, we don’t think Michelle is crazy. We think she’s a witty, smartass, and we love it (yes, we’re a bit biased). We also hear that southern philanthropist, Graham Belle hooks up with Money (that’s Michelle Money, not the greenback kind, if you know what we mean).

Other contestants that haven’t raised the drama meter too high yet are Erica Rose from ’s season who creates her own fanfare by wearing a tiara and claiming she’s a princess. Kirk DeWindt from Ali Fedotowsky’s season and the too-truthful comedian, William, from Ashley Hebert’s season are both under the radar right now, as well.

Then there’s Ella Nolan, the Tennessee mom who was dumped by Jake Pavelka. Talk about a back story- her own mother was murdered by her stepfather right in front of her when she was three-years old. She’s doing this all for her son so that she can give him the life she never had when she was young. I feel like I am watching Lifetime Television.

Lastly, we have Justin “Rated R” Rego (should be ‘ego’). He’s the professional wrestler who appeared on Ali Fedotowsky’s season and bragged to the men about having a girlfriend back home. Interestingly, he’s like a G-rated version of what Bentley did to Ashley Hebert this past season. And last, but not least, we have apparel buyer, Alli Travis from Brad Womack’s season.

In a nutshell, the rest of the night was based on forming alliances, with both Gia and Kasey coming to a close call on being eliminated. They’d probably be gone if Justin didn’t betray his alliance by telling Alli that Graham is going to “work on her,” meaning he is going to get her to come to their side. Alli confronted Graham, which made Justin look two- faced. No time to waste. He’s Gone.

Alli also seems to be playing two sides and not making a decision where her alliance is resting. The other contestants are in it to win it. Alli’s eliminated, too.

There you have it. Two down and 16 people to go. This should be an interesting summer.

Our early predictions: Michelle Money, Michael Stagliano, with close calls to Ella Nolan and Ames Brown.

Stay tune for next week’s recap. In the meantime, if you have questions about the Bachelor Pad 2, send them in. We will have former winners, Natalie Getz and David Good with us all season to answer them.

‘Bachelor Pad 2’: David Good and Natalie Getz Share their Views and Predictions for the New Season By Jennifer Harrington and Lori Bizzoco

Last summer, Bachelor/Bachelorette alums Natalie Getz and David Good teamed up, strategized and became the co-winners of $250,000 on the first season of ABC’s spinoff series, Bachelor Pad. Now, with the drama meter boiling over from this summer’s most intense cast of characters, ABC just might have a winner on its hands with Bachelor Pad 2. I mean, who isn’t anxiously waiting for Vienna and Jake to go at it again or to see how Michelle Money is planning to play the game?

No matter what your motivation is for watching Bachelor Pad 2, if you want some insight and perspective on the cast, you’ve definitely come to the right place. We spoke to the former Bachelor Pad winners, Natalie Getz and David Good, to find out their thoughts on the new season and what it takes to win.

We love their candidness and you will too. In fact, you’ll be hearing a lot more from them this season as they join us every Monday evening to answer your burningBachelor Pad 2 questions. So, if you’re curious about the season, or maybe what goes on behind-the-scenes, send us your questions or Tweet them to @cupidspulse. We will choose a few to feature the very next day on our site. Now, here’s Natalie and David’s take on what’s in store:

Who are you most excited to see in the mansion this season?

Natalie: When David and I were on the show, we had strong, unintentional friendships with several of the cast mates. Bachelor Pad wasn’t even in existence when we all became friends with each other; our friendships were pure and innocent. Now that the show is in a second season, all of these “friendships” were made out of pure strategy for Bachelor Pad 2. I was shocked when I found out Jake agreed to do the show. I’m most excited to see the drama unfold between the Kasey/Vienna/Jake triangle. Days Of Our Lives couldn’t come up with a storyline this dramatic and intense. This season is going to be hilariously dramatic.

David: I like all of the couples and former couples. There are a few in there with screws loose, which is going to make for great TV. I can’t wait to see how Michelle Money does. She is so sweet in real life and I want to see it come through on this show.

Any early predictions for couples hooking up or – in the case of Vienna and Kasey- breaking up?

Natalie: I don’t think Vienna and Kasey will break up. They are so in love it’s exhausting. They’ll stick by each other’s sides no matter what. I’m sure they will be fighting due to the nature of the game, but no break up. I bet there will be a ton of hook-ups based on knowing the cast’s history. We already read that Ames and Jackie are a couple. I can also see Graham Bunn and Michelle Money hitting it off.

David: Oh yeah! I would say a lot of hooking up, and with all the pressure it’s sure to put a strain on Vienna and Kasey’s relationship.

Everyone’s wondering what it will be like having Jake and Vienna in the same house. Do you think there’s any chance that they’ll be able to co-exist?

Natalie:It will be very interesting to watch this play out. My guess is that Jake will take the fake road, I mean high road, and instantly apologize to Kasey and Vienna. I’m sure he will play the victim and I can guarantee you that Vienna will not fall for it. Be prepared to see Jake pull out all of the stops to regain the love of the fans and cast.

David: I really don’t see that going well. Neither of them will be able to hold back their emotions and they’ll probably end up crying and yelling at each other.

Some people are saying Ames may have a good chance at advancing far because he is so extremely polite. In your experience, does being polite get you anywhere in this game?

Natalie: Being polite gets you further than most people think. People would feel bad voting off someone who is not on one side or the other. In the beginning of the game, staying neutral is the safest place to be. The third episode is a good time to choose a side. He is in the perfect position, taking the stealth approach and choosing a side towards the middle. That’s what Peyton did, and it got her far without knowing anyone prior to moving into the Pad.

David: Being polite will get you only so far. You still have to play the game and step on some toes every now and then.

We know Michelle Money was a member of theBachelorette Beatdown with the both of you, how do you think she’ll do on Bachelor Pad 2? She was very sneaky and strategic onThe Bachelor, will she change up her game or play the same way?

Natalie: In real life, Michelle is very kind-hearted and a great friend. She is a go-getter and will definitely play this game as hard as she can. She won’t be sneaky, but she will be very strategic by sticking to her word and alliances. I predict her going very far. David:I think she’ll do great! She is smart, witty and can play the game very well. She can be a top contender.

What advice would you give those entering the Mansion? Any tips for finding love and money?

Natalie: My advice is to do exactly what I did during my time in the house. I love meeting new people, so I befriended all of the new comers right away. I found “temporary” love with Jesse Beck and nearly forgot about the game aspect, because I was having so much fun and being myself. I quickly realized by keeping this approach, I would keep myself safe to the end. No one ever had a reason to kick me out. Don’t make enemies, don’t lie, don’t back stab or talk behind anyone’s back, because it will all come out. This game is not about winning competitions and being strategic, it’s about forming friendships. The winner is the one who has the most sincere friendships in the house.

David: Don’t look for love here. It’s a shady place, but do play the game with honesty and integrity – even if others aren’t. Because if people know they can trust you, you will get far!

Do you think the rules will be the same this season or do you think the producers will change it up since everyone knows how the game works after watching Season 1?

Natalie: I think we’ll see better competitions and maybe a couple tiny changes to dates and rose ceremonies, but I don’t think they’ll make drastic changes. But, I hope they change the ending. I want one person to walk away with the money. It would make for such better TV to watch the final couple battle it out. They can’t repeat the “share or keep” game that David and I played in the end, because it wouldn’t be a surprise.

David: I would have to say they are going to change some things up. They are really smart when it comes to that stuff. What’s your early prediction for a winner this season?

Natalie: Michael Stagliano. He is something else! His heart is made of gold. He is not only genuine, lovable, endearing and cute; he is also hands down one of the funniest people I know. No one will ever want to kick him out. When I saw his name on the cast list I thought to myself, “there is no competition.” They may as well hand Stagliano the money! Now it will be interesting to see who rides his coattails to the finish line.

David: Michelle Money or my boy Mike Stagliano.

Be sure to tune into the premiere of Bachelor Pad 2 tonight on ABC, and each week, we’ll be checking in with David and Natalie to get their thoughts on the episode. As you’re watching, send us your questions for them. You never know…it could be answered on our site the following day.

Jersey Shore Creator SallyAnn Salsano Dishes about Love in Italy and Her New Weight Loss Show, “Love Handles” By Lori Bizzoco

When it comes to the topic of love, ABC’s The Bachelor, MTV’s Disaster Date, and Shot of Love with Tila Tequila certainly have that in common. But, finding your amore isn’t the only thing that bonds these shows together. They’ve also had the fortune of being produced by SallyAnn Salsano, a 37-year-old, fist-pumping dynamo, who is best known for creating the pop culture phenomenon, Jersey Shore.

SallyAnn’s newest endeavor, Love Handles airs on Lifetime Television this weekend. The show is an hour-long docu-series featuring a dual transformation of overweight couples as they attempt to save their lives and relationships by confronting what lies at the core of the emotional, dietary and physical issues deeply affecting their well-being. Think Biggest Loser meets Dr. Phil. Whether it’s a couple who gained weight together and are trying to get the spice back in their love life, or the woman who feels overly self-conscious because her man is thinner than her.

We had the chance to catch up with SallyAnn and she gave us the scoop on what we can expect to see this season:

What can you tell us about Love Handles? What makes the show different from other shows of its type?

It’s about couples who feel like they’re stuck, and we show their transformation. I mean, you have to go to work, raise your kids, go to the gym, cook for yourself, and deal with your life. That’s the situation most people are in when they have to lose weight. Some people are granted the opportunity to shut down their life and dedicate themselves to losing weight, but in Love Handles people have to fend for themselves and just do it.

The other thing about Love Handles is that it’s not just about losing the weight. It’s a show about therapy, and what’s really going on inside. It gives you a rare look at couples that are in complete, raw therapy sessions. For most of these people, they have never been to individual therapy, so forget about couple’s therapy. For the first time, they talk about what’s bothering them, not only about themselves, but about the person they love the most. So sometimes they’re just like, ”Well, I don’t know if I love this guy. I don’t know if I could see myself with him.” You should see their partner’s reactions; it looks like their eyeballs pop right out of their heads because it’s the first time they’ve ever heard that.

What are the relationships like on the show? Is everyone married?

They’re all in different stages. Some of them are in a relationship, but will not get married until they lose weight. Others won’t get married to their partner because they don’t want a fat bride or groom. Some of the contestants are engaged, but can’t buy the wedding dress because they‘re overweight. There are also newlyweds who are in the first year of marriage and gained 80 pounds. Some couples have been married for ten years and gained hundreds of pounds along the way and lost the intimacy they once had with each other. Every couple has their own unique story. Or, it could be that he’s skinny and she’s fat -it’s all stuff everyone deals with and it’s not only women who are self-conscious about their weight, it is men too. So you put that together – two people who are not feeling good about themselves – and the word toxic doesn’t even do it justice. They’re in a position where they don’t even love themselves. They need to figure out what’s going on inside before they can figure out if they want to be with this other person.

How does Love Handles parallel your own life?

Well, I’m 37, in a relationship, and I’m really happy. But, I was in a previous relationship for seven years. We had a great time, a great house, and all the bullshit. He loved me, I loved him. But, I just wasn’t happy. I was so overweight, and I think that I blamed my unhappiness on anything but that. It wasn’t until I got my stuff together and lost the weight that I realized I had to move on. I threw out everything I owned and gutted my house. I did a drastic, crazy person clean out, and started over. I’ve never been happier. I won’t say that the relationship was bad, because it wasn’t bad at all. It was really me and that’s kind of where Love Handles came from.

I think a lot of girls want to get married and have a family. And, they’re looking for one guy who says yes. It doesn’t even have to be the right person. For me, it’s not the first person you find to say, “yes.” It’s the person you want to grow old with, rich or poor, the person you want next to you.

What is it about love that makes these shows so popular?

Well, I think everyone is on the endless search for love. I think even if you find someone, and you get married, you’re always wondering if this is the greatest love of your life. Is this what love is supposed to feel like? I think it’s all anyone ever wants. Everyone equates love with happiness. Every girl, every guy, every adult, even if you’re married or single, it doesn’t matter. You watch these shows, and you fantasize right along with them. Everyone wants a fairy tale. Before we go, we need to ask some Jersey Shore “LOVE” questions! First, will we see a good love story in Italy?

Well, there are people falling in and out of love in Italy. I would say that it’s hot and cold in that house. I love this season. Every season I do the same thing. I come back, and I’m like, “What if nothing happens? What if nothing goes on?” Let me tell you something. I got all the way to Italy, and I was like, “Are you guys kidding me?” I was sitting there and would not leave the control room for 20 hours a day. That’s when you know it’s good. This particular season is interesting, because they were away. They didn’t have all the comforts of home, and all the interactions with their friends and family that they usually do, so there was a bit more conflict than you’ve seen before.

What’s the status of Sammi and Ronnie this season? Can you give us a little hint?

Well, the status depends on what episode (chuckle)! You’re going to see a little bit of the Sammi and Ron you knew before, and then the Sammi and Ron who takes a turn. It’s really interesting. I think they finally come into their own. Sometimes, I think you grow up when you’re apart.

Whether it is the crazy, fist-pumping nights out at Karma, the quacking duck phone or Snooki’s ridiculous antics that have you hooked, everyone loves to watch the drama. Jersey Shore Season 4 will premiere August 4th t at 10pm ET/PT on MTV.

And, don’t forget to tune into Love Handles on Lifetime Television August 6th at 7pm and August 7th at 3PM &4PM.

Cupid’s Pulse sends a thankful fist-pump to Sally Ann for taking the time to talk with us. Fantasia Announces Her Pregnancy On Stage

After struggling through depression, a suicide attempt, and a relationship on the rocks, former star Fantasia Barrino has much to look forward to after all. According to People, on Sunday, Barrino announced that she’s expecting. She blazoned the good news for the first time during a charity concert in Jacksonville, Fla: “And I share this with you because I can relate to you. And for a while, I walked around figuring out what they will say and what will they think about me. But now I tell you, I don’t live my life for folk.” Barrino made no mention of the father, but we know that she was seeing Antwaun Cook and that their affair was associated with Cook’s divorce from wife Paula Cook. What are some ways to make a bang with your pregnancy announcement?

Cupid’s Advice:

Not all of us may have the opportunity to make the big announcement after a live performance on stage. But that doesn’t mean your pregnancy news can’t make a bang. Cupid has some creative ideas:

1. Throw a party: Invite your friends and family to a casual party without informing them about the reason behind it. At some point, propose a toast and then break the news. A gathering with all the people that matter in your life is a great occasion to celebrate.

2. At a sports game: If your partner, friends, and family are into football, why not take them to a local game and have the announcer make a public announcement? That’ll certainly stir up some commotion.

3. In the news: If you’re going for high impact, but a want to tone down the drama, create your own announcement with paper and pen, then insert it in between the pages of the daily newspaper. When your friends and family flip through the pages, they’ll be surprised to find your story.

Gene Simmons: I Proposed Months Ago

After sharing 28 years in a relationship together and two children with girlfriend Shannon Tweed, Gene Simmons finally mustered up the courage to get down on one knee. In Tuesday night’s finale of A&E’s reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Simmons told Tweed, “You’re the only friend I’ve got. You’re the only one I love … and you’re the only one I ever will love” before proposing. An insider recently revealed to People that the proposal scene was shot “several months ago” and that the couple’s relationship has been on the rocks ever since. The couple once described themselves as “happily unmarried” and we’re waiting to find out if there will be an “I do” to seal the deal.

What are the advantages of tying the knot over simply living together?

Cupid’s Pulse: Marriage is a big responsibility. As a result, the rate of cohabitation among couples has increased drastically in the last few decades. Sometimes, however, there are perks to tying the knot. Cupid has a few:

1. Commitment: Marriage is a profession of two people’s commitment to one another. You and your partner will both feel more secure about the future of the relationship if you’ve made the commitment to spend the rest of your lives together. Marriage increases people’s trust in each other.

2. Quality: It’s not just about your thoughts about what the future might bring. It’s also about the current state of the your relationship. Husbands and wives report greater satisfaction and fairness in their relationships.

3. Together: Couples who simply live together have a higher chance of splitting than those who are married. There are no definitive explanations for this difference, but we just know that it’s one more reason why it may be better to take a walk down the aisle!

Former ‘Bachelorette’ Winner Jesse Csincsak Talks About Ashley Hebert’s Fiji Dates and Her Final Two Men

Last night on , Ryan Park paid Ashley Hebert a visit and asked for a second chance, while Constantine Tzortzis said goodbye after revealing that his relationship and love was not developing fast enough for her. Ben Flajnik and J.P. Rosenbaum are the remaining two men, andThe Bachelorette now understands that this is a two way street. Here’s what Bachelorette expert Jesse Csincsak had to say about the episode:

Jess Csincsak Tells All About The Bachelorette

Were you surprised to see Ryan return? Should Chris Harrison have given Ashley a head’s up that she was going to have a “surprise visitor”?

This was a simple case of the producers saying jump and Ryan asking how high! I think the producers are teasing him with being the next Bachelor, and he wants it so bad that he can taste it. That’s why he is doing all of this dramatic nonsense. He reminds me of a few characters from past seasons who wanted to be the next Bachelor so bad — Jake Pavelka, Ed S. and Reid R. from season 5 and Jeremy A. from season 4.

What do you think about Ben’s admission that he was “unavailable” at the beginning of the journey? Is this type of admission a red flag to you?

I think J.P. and Ben’s edits are so chopped up that we will never really know what is what. I think production was trying to even the playing field with this episode by editing, so both of the final two guys look like they are at the same point with Ashley.

These contestants are always taken to places where they jump off cliffs, swim with sharks, etc. What if a contestant is afraid of these feats or they simply don’t know how to swim? How do they get around doing these activities?

Production has you fill out a 1200 question test before you go on the show. Therefore, the participants know all of this beforehand, and the producers plan which dates to give each person.

We heard over and over again that Ashley and Constantine need more time. Given all they wanted was more time, do you think Constantine should have taken advantage of the fantasy suite to get to know her a little bit better and develop their relationship and love?

Constantine was real, and as far as I am concerned, he is the man! There was no fantasy suite needed.

Related Link: ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 7, Episode 2: Ashley Gambles Her Heart in Vegas Do you think it’s a bit unreasonable for Ashley to expect all of the guys to fall in love with her and be ready to propose marriage after just a few weeks of knowing each other?

I think Ashley totally understands it’s a two way street. Even at this point, no one expects anything.

Typically, by the overnight dates, we see several confessions of love for the Bachelor/Bachelorette. Do you think it’s weird or simply realistic that both J.P. and Ben are holding back on “I love you” for now?

I think it’s totally real, and all three of them are guarded. That’s why we haven’t heard them say “I love you.”

What Is Important For a Real Relationship and Love?

Ashley confides that she is more “compatible” with Ben and that J.P. “compliments” her. In relationships and love, what do you think is more important — being compatible or complimenting your significant other?

I think both are important, but at the end of the day, love alone will be what gets people through the tough times in a Hollywood relationship.

Ashley makes a big deal about the guys accepting her roses this week, and it being a two-way street. When you were on the show, did you give a lot of thought to the acceptance of the rose each week?

The show has changed a lot since I was on it. Back then, there wasn’t as much emphasis on accepting a rose.

So now we know who the final two men are at the last rose ceremony. What’s your prediction?

Well, since all of the idiots spoiled the show for everyone, we all know who Ashley will choose.

It looks like Bentley will be back for The Men Tell All. Do you think we’ll learn anything new about him and his mind games next week, or do you suspect having him join the reunion is all about the ratings?

Somehow, I don’t believe Bentley comes back to the actual The Men Tell All. I think they just interviewed him separately because the real guys would rip him apart!

Amy Winehouse Unexpectedly and Sadly Joins the 27 Club By Whitney Baker and Imani Brammer

Lady Gaga said it best: “Amy changed pop music forever, I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues.” With her soulful voice, peculiar demeanor and unruly habits, Amy Winehouse wowed audiences despite sometimes tripping on stage, throwing her shoes at people and struggling to stand up straight. Her fans still loved her. Now, with her music still echoing in their ears, they’re left with an all-too- obvious reminder that life is short.

At 3:54 pm on Saturday, July 23, 2011, 27-year-old jazz- influenced soul singer Winehouse was reported dead. She was found in her London home, and a police source confirms that there were no sign of drugs near her body. A toxicology report may take weeks to complete, and until then, the cause of her death is unclear. Even so, Winehouse battled with a long-term — and well-known — drug addiction. Suspicions are in the air as to whether her addiction to crack cocaine, heroin, alcohol, ecstasy, ketamine and cigarettes may have played a part in her untimely death. Although she checked into rehabilitation centers at various times throughout her career, she believed that her illness was manic depression rather than alcohol or drug dependency. As she was off-and-on with checking into rehab, she was similarly off-and-on with her marriage to Blake Fielder- Civil. With their shared drug abuse and Winehouse’s penchant for adultery and violent, drunken moments, the marriage was severely damaged. In January 2009, Fielder-Civil divorced Winehouse after she admitted to adultery in court papers.

Her failed marriage may have caused Winehouse to sink deeper into depression. However, it seems like she tried to reinvigorate her love life through her most recent relationship with Reg Traviss, a film director. Their love was still going strong as recent as April, but took a downward spiral last month when Traviss ended their relationship. Heartbroken and inconsolable, Winehouse briefly checked into Priory Rehab Clinic in London and then proceeded to cancel her European tour. Traviss wanted to play a positive role in her life, but realized that he couldn’t make her stand strong against her drunken demons, reported Celebs.

According to Drug Addiction Treatment, Traviss did the right thing:

“… your reasons for leaving must be based on the best interests of all concerned. The decision should come after all other options have been thoroughly explored, and/or you’ve come to the realization that by staying, you’re doing more harm than good — harm to you, your spouse and your family.”

Revealing how important love was to Winehouse, many of her songs were dedicated to her relationships — both the good and bad parts of romance. For instance, in her ballad “Love is a Losing Game,” she sang about how she lost to love and laments the trouble that it has caused:

“Love is a losing game One I wish I never played Oh what a mess we made”

In addition to using her music as an outlet for her pain, Winehouse may have used her drug addiction to wipe away her sorrows and regrets. But can addiction really cure a broken heart? Perhaps she should’ve looked to love as the ultimate reason to overcome her addiction. Just as both of these forces made their mark in WInehouse’s life, this uniquely talented artist unequivocally impacted the lives of her fans. There will surely be a gaping hole in the world of music.

Sadly, with her early and unexpected death, Winehouse joins the 27 Club, an ironic club of deceased, influential rock artists who died at age 27, generally with some sort of controversy surrounding their death. Winehouse was aware of this group, also known as the Forever 27 Club or Club 27, and sometimes referenced its existence in interviews. Now, her name will be remembered along side legends like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain. May their souls rest in peace.

How Marc Anthony Handled His Split With Jennifer Lopez Though Marc Anthony was all similes, kisses, and jokes during a recent performance in Bogotá, Colombia, sources close to the performer say that he has been incredibly aloof after splitting from his wife of seven years, Jennifer Lopez. As Spanish TV presenter, Eva Rey, told People, “I saw him when he was passing through the stage, but I think because he split up the day before, he didn’t allow anyone to talk to him or anyone to come to his dressing room.” Rey was planning on introducing Anthony at a pre-show party, but the heartbroken singer never showed. Lately, Anthony has been spending a significant amount of time alone. He’s been distant, spending much time in his hotel room ordering room service. In spite of the fact that Anthony has been withdrawn in his personal life, like a true performer, he was as confident and charismatic as ever on stage.

Is alone time important after a split?

Cupid’s Advice:

Though breakups are sad, it’s always good to think about them as an opportunity to rediscover yourself. If alone time is what you need, don’t be afraid to embrace it. Here are some great ideas on how to spend your alone time post breakup: 1. Meditation and massage: These are two very liberating and therapeutic options for the heartbroken.

2. Catch up on your favorite TV shows: After all of those late nights you spent out with your partner, you probably missed your share of valuable TV time. Now is your chance to catch up.

3. Get away for a while: Who says you can’t go on vacation alone? Get away to some place quiet and scenic.

Rumor: Is Demi Lovato Hooking Up With Ryan Phillippe? 18 year-old Demi Lovato and 36 year-old Ryan Phillippe. Could it be true? Reportedly, Lovato has been hooking up with Reese Witherspoon’s ex-husband and the father of their two children. According to a UsMagazine.com source, it was “nothing serious.”

How do you keep a relationship casual?

Cupid’s Advice:

There are plenty of reasons to want to keep the relationship casual, especially if you just started seeing someone. But how do you go about it? Cupid has some tips:

1. Expectations: If the relationship is not of a serious nature or isn’t at that stage, then make sure you know what to expect. Don’t assume that your partner will be more emotionally available than he or she actually is. Don’t expect that the relationship is more meaningful than it is, or you may risk getting hurt.

2. Communication: Communication is key. It may be awkward discussing the status of the relationship, but it’s important to be open about where you stand and make sure you and your partner are both on the same page. 3. Group dates: A good idea may be to go on a group date. This will ensure that the setting is more fun and less intimate. If you’re out with a group of friends, you’ll be less likely to discuss your feelings.

Maya Rudolph and Paul Thomas Welcome a Son

Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph and husband, director Paul Thomas Anderson, welcomed a baby boy into the world July 3rd, according to People. Rudolph kept the sex of her baby unknown until the day she popped. She said, “The exciting part is not knowing who’s coming, you have to wait nine months for a surprise, but then it’s a good payoff because it really is a surprise.” T he newborn, Jake, is home with his older sisters, Pearl and Lucille. The family is doing great, according to Rudolph’s rep. You can check Rudolph out in her new role in Up All Night, which premieres this fall on NBC.

What are the advantages of keeping the sex of your unborn baby unknown?

Cupid’s Advice:

Having a baby is always exciting, but a big decision every parent has to make is whether or not to find out the sex of the baby prior to the delivery. Cupid has some advantages to keeping the sex of your unborn baby unknown:

1. It’s a surprise: Take a tip from Maya Rudolph and Paul Thomas Anderson. Who doesn’t like a good surprise? Not knowing the sex of your unborn baby creates a sense of excitement and suspense prior to the big day, which makes the whole experience even more memorable.

2. No expectations: By not knowing the sex of the unborn baby, you won’t know what to expect and therefore won’t be planning out the child’s entire future before he or she arrives. Having an open mind will allow you to see the baby in an unbiased way.

3. Keep your family and friends anxious: Keeping the sex a secret won’t just make you anxious about the big day, but also your family and friends. What’s better than seeing or hearing their reactions when you say ‘It’s a boy’ or ‘It’s a girl’?

By Imani Brammer

If you’re looking for the perfect date wine or a bottle to celebrate a special occasion, take note that the higher priced ones aren’t always the best. For a long time, it’s been a common misconception that the greatest wines are the most expensive. But, thanks to Elyse Luray, author of Great Wines Under $20, we now know better. After starting to believe that it was normal to drop $100 on a nice vintage, Luray, a licensed auctioneer for high end wine, decided to halt her way of thinking by doing a little experimenting to see if there were any great tasting wines under $20. Thankfully for all of us, there are and now she’s sharing them with the public. You’ll no longer be stumped about the taste that will come out of that $16.00 bottle of Merlot. Luray teaches all of us how to choose an affordable and appealing wine as she introduces us to over 200 great ones in her book and they’re all for less than $20.

Here are some things you’ll learn:

– A wine’s vintage refers to the year it was produced

– Only expensive wines get better with age. Inexpensive wines are best when they are no more than three-years-old

– When it comes to choosing the right wine for a particular food, it’s best to match the wine’s region of origin with that of the meal.

For those of you who are new to the wine scene, the author advices not to act like you know more than you do. It could add unnecessary pressure and your date could call your bluff. You should always be yourself.

“Nothing is worse than listening to someone brag about wine and what they know when it turns out they have no clue what they’re talking about,” says Luray. “If you know about the vintages, regions and wines themselves, it’s great to share this information. But if you don’t, just try and find some great bottles under $20 and enjoy learning.”

Though a wine expert, Luray is nervous too when it comes to dating. “I hate cooking, so you can imagine the stress when I invite a date over for an intimate dinner,” she says. “I always start with a great glass of wine and some simple appetizers. It gives us time to talk and chill.” When asked about her opinion of wine as an aphrodisiac on the first date, Luray showed no signs of a closed mind. “Many people find wine relaxing,” she explained. “I say, whatever works for you. If it makes you feel sexier and have more desires, then go for it. Nothing is better than good food, good wine, and good vibes with another person.”

Exclusive Celebrity Interview: Former ‘Bachelorette’ Winner Jesse Csincsak Shares Opinions On Ashley Hebert’s Hometown Dates Last night on The Bachelorette, Ashley Hebert met the in-laws of the remaining four men: Constantine Tzortzis, Ames Brown, Ben Flajnik, and J.P. Rosenbaum. As she traveled to the contestant’s hometown and met their families, her spark grew for some of the guys, while she questioned her relationship and love with others. In the end, she sent Brown home. Here’s what Bachelorette expert Jesse Csincsak had to say about the episode in our exclusive interview:

Exclusive Celebrity Interview with Jesse Csincsak

Constantine’s hometown date seemed so perfect. Do you think he’ll be one of the last men standing, or do you think it was edited to look that way for a reason? Maybe there’s something more coming that will shock us!

I think Constantine will be the next to go home. He has a strong connection with Ashley, but it’s moving way slower than the rest of the guys, and I think that will be what gets him sent home. I don’t think there are any tricks about his edit, but who knows — I have seen crazier stuff!

Do you think it’s a red flag that Ben’s relationships and love haven’t lasted that long and that he’s only brought home one other person?

I’m not going to lie — Ben is cool, but I just don’t see Ashley moving to central California to be a mellow wine maker’s wife. I personally think Ashley would be better suited with J.P. or Constantine, but I am not her.

Do you think J.P. has a jealous streak that could get in the way of his relationship with Ashley? Or will his lack of commitment lead to their demise?

Every guy has a point of jealousy. It’s all about how much it takes to trigger that jealous bug. I think they are going to get into some deep conversations next week. Perhaps that’s what the walking out of the room scene will be.

Planning Hometown Date Ideas

Who plans the hometown date ideas? For example, J.P.’s roller skating date — was that his own idea, or did the producers plan that?

The producers do all the planning, but you can tell them what you would like to do — such as snowboarding or go on a horse and carriage. They want it to be activities you would actually enjoy doing!

How nerve-wracking are hometown dates? Is it true that this is the first time you are physically seeing your family since the show started?

When you go on the hometown dates, you don’t even get to stay at your house or see your family except what everyone sees on camera! They make you stay in a hotel two miles from your house, so you can’t talk to or see anyone you know. That’s why everyone looks genuinely happy to see one another on camera.

Do all the families need to sign a waiver stating that they can’t disclose the hometown dates before the season airs? What’s the process?

All family members do have to sign a non-disclosure agreement before the contestants even get to their hometown. Once the fifth and sixth guys go home, the producers approach the contestants after the rose ceremony and ask them for the contact information of the person the Bachelorette will be meeting on the hometown date. Since the producers do it all, the guys don’t get a chance to tell their parents what’s going on.

Which of the remaining men do you think is best for Ashley?

Although I think Constantine or J.P. will fit her lifestyle the best, Ben is a great guy too!

Were you surprised to see Ames go? If so, who did you think would leave this week?

I wasn’t surprised to see Ames leave. Somehow, I just can’t see Ashley sitting by a massive indoor pool and Jacuzzi talking about how amazing Ames is for the rest of her life or being driven around in a horse and carriage by the butlers until she’s 80. But then again, that’s just me.

In next week’s highlights, there’s a knock on the door from someone who surprised Ashley by flying to Fiji. Who do you think that might be?

I think the surprise is either Ames or Ryan P.

There is also a scene where her family doesn’t feel that one of the guys is right for her, and it looks like she chooses him anyway. Any guesses who that may be?

I think that has to be J.P. or Ben because it’s down to the final two when you meet the parents.

‘The Bachelorette’ Episode 8 Recap: Love Takes Time

By Jennifer Harrington This week on The Bachelorette, Ashley has narrowed the pool to four men for the hometown dates. Coming up are visits with the families of Constantine, Ames, Ben and J.P. Let’s see what it was like to meet the in-laws:

First up was food-lover, Constantine and a visit to his family in Cumming, GA. After a cozy chat by a lake, Ashley and her man ventured off to his Italian restaurant. Yes, Greek heritage with an Italian restaurant-interesting combo. Anyway, the heat was certainly on in the kitchen as the lovebirds cooked up some treats. Following their delicious quality time the pair went to meet Constantine’s extremely close-knit family. All season, we’ve known Constantine was a family man, and after his hometown date we can now see why. Ashley not only met his immediate family but the couple was surprised when the doorbell rang and in walked about 20 more extended family members to greet Constantine for a Welcome Back Greek-style dance party. Despite the good times and cool dance moves, Constantine’s parents emphasized over and over that love takes time. This seemed to be the theme of the night from most of the families.

Next Ashley flew up to Chadds Ford, PA to spend some time with Ames’ family. Our bachelorette has been intrigued by Ames’ “uniqueness” all season, and her day with his loved ones did not disappoint. In fact, Ames’ older sister compared her brother to an onion with various layers. Speaking of layers, we learned that Ames attended boarding school and was an unpopular student. All afternoon, we heard Ashley (and Ames’ family) questioning the spark and passion in their relationship, and despite sharing his motto that “life isn’t all fireworks,’ Ames promised to “step up the romance” with Ashley after the couple shared a picnic, conversation, and carriage ride together.

After two dates on the East Coast, our bachelorette flew west for her hometown date with Ben in Sonoma, CA where they sipped on wine from his vineyard. After an “effortless” afternoon with her “sexy” long-haired man, Ashley settled in for a relaxed evening with Ben’s mother and sister. Ben’s father passed away several years ago and Ben expressed to Ashley that this process of being on the show has really helped him open up emotionally. He admitted that he had only brought home one girl to meet his family before, which could be a red flag for her. The hometown date was much more intimate than the others and a little more emotional. Ben’s over-protective sister definitely was watching out for her brother’s best interest but overall they seemed to accept Ashley into the family.

Last was J.P.’s hometown date in Roslyn, NY. J.P. treated Ashley to an afternoon of roller-skating, which she loved, remarking that she felt like she was in “seventh grade again. With the disco ball flashing, the chemistry between these two looked pretty heated on the rink. However, they did share some serious talk about why J.P. has been single for so long (Ashley has obviously never lived in NYC where the singles almost outweigh the married couples).

They finally joined J.P.’s family, where the defenses came up initially to protect him. Apparently, his last girlfriend broke his heart. When confiding in his family, J.P. shared that he was afraid to fully admit how he feels for Ashley.

The episode ended with roses going to Ben, Constantine, and J.P. Ames was sent home, eliminated and devastated — while it seemed obvious that Ashley was not able to find any spark with him, he had developed genuine feelings for her.

Join us next week for the exotic overnight dates in Fiji as we journey with Ashley towards the final rose! In the meantime, share your predictions with us — who do you think will be the final two men standing this season? And, if you can’t get enough Bachelorette, be sure to check back later today to read Bachelorette expert Jesse Csincsak’s take on the episode. How Social Media Changed Mila Kunis’ Dating Life

By Imani Brammer

Surrounded by dust tracks and equipped with camouflage and war gear in the middle of Afghanistan, there is a Mila Kunis fan. This Kunis fan likes Mila so much, that he set aside time from his Marine Corps schedule to make a video asking Kunis to the Marine Corps Ball, November 18, in Greenville North Carolina. This fan goes by the name of Scott Moore … and that’s Sergeant Scott Moore to us.

It turns out that the Friends With Benefits star had no idea what was going on until the topic was introduced to her during an interview with Fox. When Fox broke the news to her, though she was shocked, she automatically said “yes,” after a bit of persuasion from her co-star, Justin Timberlake.

“Do it for your country,” said Timberlake.

“I’ll do it for you,” Kunis said into the camera, speaking to Moore.

Let’s face it — Moore has guts, not only when it comes to fighting for his country, but also when it comes to putting himself out there for love. What he did was such a sensation that his video can now be viewed on the Internet, from anywhere in the world. If it weren’t for his public invitation, the news would have never landed in Kunis’ ears. Social media has officially changed his dating life.

Fortunately, Moore’s image will be altered for the better too. But social media isn’t always healthy for your dating life. It can make, break, destroy and rebuild. Though a cliché, this remains true. Here are five ways the media can change a dating relationship:

1. Over the river and through the woods are rumors and rumors galore: Gossip has a bad effect on a relationship. However, it can be difficult to ignore when it’s so easy to locate via social media vehicles. The worst thing you can do is allow it to take over your life.

2. How about some privacy, eh?: No. No, no, no. With media in your life, there is no privacy…unless you’re really, really good at being secretive. If you want some intimacy in your relationship, don’t post conversations on Twitter or your Facebook wall.

3. Live up to what he/she expects: People try the best to live up to what the public expects of them. Social media can lead to pressure to portray yourselves as a “perfect couple.” The fact is, there’s no such thing. Let go of expectations as much as you can, and live in the present. 4. Lasting impression: Social media can leave a lasting impression on your love life. You never want to regret the memories you’ve had, but if all of it revolved around false rumors on Twitter and drunken tagged pictures on Facebook, it can be hard to look back positively on your relationship.

5. Growth: Then again, there’s always a bright side to it all. Social media makes it so much easier to stay in touch or check-out a potential partner. Of course, you can’t rely solely on the new technology but it is a good method of finding out information about someone you’re interested in dating.

Ashlee Simpson and New Beau Vincent Piazza Pack on PDA Pete Wentz’s ex was spotted cranking on the PDA with new boyfriend Vincent Piazza during a brunch date in the Big Apple on Sunday. Ashlee Simpson was visiting Piazza in New York a month after he had visited her in LA. An insider told UsMagazine.com, “Vincent’s a chill guy, very artsy, the quiet type. He likes her.”

How do you overcome the struggles that come with a long- distance relationship?

Cupid’s Advice:

1. Trust: Spending time apart can present itself as a challenge for a couple’s commitment. This means that you and your partner both need to trust each other in order for the relationship to survive. If either one of you gets paranoid, there’s going to be trouble. But if your trust can tolerate the long distance, it’ll make your relationship grow stronger.

2. Communicate: Fortunately, contemporary media enables us to overcome geographical barriers. So, being physically apart does not mean you can’t still interact on a daily basis. It’s important to frequently keep each other in the loop.

3. Be romantic: Ironically, it’s likely that your distance has brought you closer. Not being able to see each other every day will hopefully teach you to appreciate each other’s presence. So when you do have a chance to reunite, take advantage of it and express your love for each other.

Choose the Perfect Perfume for Your Guy

By Sarah Ellis

A smell can ignite a flood of memories. Your mom’s perfume may remind you of snuggling with her as a child, and your fruity body splash may remind you of awkward middle school days where you passed notes to your best friend and giggled about your crush. Your first boyfriend’s cologne may remind you of your first kiss and innocent love. And like these memories all hold a special place in your heart, you want your perfume to be a sort of signature, right?

Perfume is personal. It’s meant to be an intimate adornment – something that’s noticed when your guy leans in to give you a kiss or gets a whiff when he whispers in your ear. And I’m here to tell you there’s more to buying perfume than choosing it by how it smells in the bottle.

Have you ever noticed how you’ll spritz a perfume sample in the air at the store, fall in LOVE with it, make the purchase, but later realize that it doesn’t smell quite as good as you remember? Perfume actually reacts with your body chemistry, which can affect the way it smells after you wear it.

There’s one rule you MUST follow when choosing a scent: Don’t choose a perfume based on which celebrity endorses it or by how adorable the product packaging is, no matter HOW posh they make the bottle look! If you’re investing in perfume, you don’t want to be wasting money on a scent that you’ll end up hating. Trial and error is crucial.

The most common scent categories:

Musky Floral Fruity Fresh Amber or Oriental Wood or Pine Citrus Gourmand (a fancy term for dessert fragrances, typically vanilla, cake, or other decadent treats)

Perfumes are pretty complex in nature, as they’re made up of “notes” that take on different layers. There are top, middle and base notes that, when played together properly, mix into a lovely scent. The top notes are immediately recognizable when you apply the perfume. The middle notes will emerge right after the top note dissipates, and you may not notice the base notes for up to 30 minutes after you’ve applied the scent. Different combinations of these categories make up different fragrances. Mixologists spend their days playing with different essential oils and finding unique combinations.

If you’re unsure of what type of fragrance you prefer, get playful! Although most of us run away from perfume counters while shopping, discussing fragrance with an expert is truly fascinating. Take a shopping pal and ask some questions! Have fun playing, but don’t be pressured to purchase immediately. Spritz the fragrance in key areas: wrists, neck, decolletage (because it sounds classier than cleavage), or behind the ears. But don’t overdo it! Perfume is meant to be intimate, not overpowering.

And ask your guy what kind of scent he prefers. Everyone has different tastes, and while you should ALWAYS choose for yourself first, it’s fun to indulge your guy in this way. My high school boyfriend loved vanilla perfume, and it was fun to get compliments on how lovely I smelled!

Find your signature scent, and it will serve you through the years. It will also bring back a flood of memories as you grow and change.
