It is a great pleasure to welcome over 2,500 registered participants and guests from Germany and 40 other countries all over the world2 to the opening session of the 20th German Congress on Crime Prevention. I am delighted that, once again, the agenda of our “anniversary congress” in the Hessian metropolis of Frankfurt am Main has attracted impressive numbers of individuals and organisations involved in crime pre- vention and that many reasons make it “worthwhile” for us to congregate once a year to discuss the practical, political, ethical and economic aspects of crime prevention. As in previous years, I would like to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you, whether you have come as an individual or as the representative of one of the over 1,000 attending government agencies, organisations or associations, to impart, discuss and enhance experiences and insights in the wide-ranging field of crime pre- vention. The sheer number of speeches, presentations and information stalls that have been organised by our guests of honour, friends and guests from abroad and approx. -

The three pre- vention departments joined forces to develop the mobile game “Born to Run”, which vividly communicates the rules and the risks of doping by means of an entertaining game, aimed particularly at young people – a good example of how synergies can be tapped on a cross-frontier basis . NADA’s partners also contributed towards progressing anti-doping work in 2013 . Firstly, the two WADA-accredited laboratories in Cologne and Kreischa, which are globally acknowledged in the field of analytics and enable NADA to already use numerous additional analyses as standard practice that other anti-doping organizations do not as yet possess in their programs, and the approximately 120 test officers of the service provider Professional Worldwide Executive Board: Dr . For Ukraine, the Legacy of Hosting Euro 2012 Is Complicated by All That Came After
Following Real Time US Open Cities NHL MLB NFL NBA CFB CBB Soccer Betting • • • You Invite Friends For Ukraine, the legacy of hosting Euro 2012 is complicated by all that came after Matt Pentz Jun 17, 2021 18 Maidan Square in central Kyiv was packed shoulder-to-shoulder, the collective voice less a triumphant roar and more a murmur of shared anxiety. The square had filled to capacity long before the sun set over the video board that would broadcast that night’s game; security guards half-heartedly denied entry to late arrivals, looking the other way when they hopped over nearby metal barricades. Some drowned the butterflies in their stomachs with watery pints of Carlsberg, which was the only beer legally sold in the fan zones thanks to its status as a UEFA sponsor. Others took long pulls from paper bags smuggled in and concealing god knows what. This was the opening night of Euro 2012 action in Group D, the first match of a major tournament ever played by Ukraine on home soil. Nobody quite knew what to expect. Reports leading up to the tournament detailed governmental grift and also stoked fears of hooliganism. “Happy and nervous,” former Kyiv Post writer Svitlana Tuchynska described the collective mood in a recent note to me when I asked about her recollections of that time. “Happy to be placed on the European and the world map with such an event, but also afraid something might go wrong.” So there were many layers of catharsis in the celebrations that greeted Andriy Shevchenko’s second-half equalizer, scored just three minutes after Zlatan Ibrahimovic had fired Sweden in front. -

She studies the current links between proponents of the German and the Russian far rights, mostly through extensive social network analyses and media monitoring. The recent assassination of the Christian democrat Walter Lübcke, president of the Kassel governmental district, by right-wing extremists, marks the first murder of a politician in Germany in over half a century. It comes at a time in which there is a significant surge of white supremacist and neo-Nazi groups in Germany and other European countries, along with an apparent rearmament of the far-right scene. -
