Took sole command on the field for the first time in 2005. • Dalić more recently found success in the Middle East with al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia) and al-Ain (United Arab Emirates); in 2016, he led al-Ain to the AFC Champions League final, where they lost to South Korea's Jeonbuk FC over two legs. • Assistant coach of Croatia under-21s from 2006-11, he returned to the national-team set-up as boss of the senior side on 7 October 2017, stepping in following the departure of Ante Čačić. • A win away to Ukraine two days after Dalić's appointment earned a 2018 FIFA World Cup play-off place, where Greece were defeated as Croatia reached the finals, prompting Dalić to sign a contract running until 2020. They went on to excel in Russia, reaching the knockout stages for the first time since 1998 courtesy of wins against Nigeria, Argentina and Iceland; Denmark and hosts Russia were beaten on penalties en route to the semi-finals, where England were overcome in extra time, but France proved a step too far in the final. Ryan Giggs Date of birth: 29 November 1973 Nationality: Welsh Playing career: Manchester United Coaching career: Manchester United (caretaker), Manchester United (assistant), Wales • Manchester United's most successful ever player, Cardiff-born Giggs signed for the club on his 14th birthday and made his first-team debut in March 1991 at 17. He was capped at the same age, becoming Wales' youngest senior international. • An extravagantly gifted left-winger hailed at Old Trafford and beyond as the 'new George Best', Giggs was a United regular in his late teens and a champion of England before he reached 20 – the first of a record-breaking 13 English Premier League titles he would win, all under Sir Alex Ferguson, during 24 years as a first-teamer. He landed domestic doubles in 1993/94 and 1995/96 and a famous treble in 1998/99, when United added the UEFA Champions League by dramatically defeating Bayern München in the final at the Camp Nou. • He broke Sir Bobby Charlton's club record of 758 appearances when he came on as a substitute in the victorious 2008 UEFA Champions League final against Chelsea in Moscow and would end his United career with 963 games and 168 goals. In all he helped United win 25 major trophies and was voted both PFA Player of the Year and BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2009. • He played 64 times for Wales, scoring 12 goals, before retiring from international football in 2007 after three years as captain. Like Northern Ireland's Best, Giggs was never able to parade his talent at a major tournament. • Joined the coaching staff of Ferguson's replacement David Moyes while still active as a player during 2013/14 and assumed player-caretaker duties for the final four games of the campaign after Moyes' sacking. He announced his retirement from playing in May 2014 to take up a position as assistant to new manager Louis van Gaal and finally left Old Trafford two years later, appointed as Wales coach in January 2018 to succeed Chris Coleman. 5 Croatia - Wales Saturday 8 June 2019 - 15.00CET (15.00 local time) Match press kit Gradski vrt, Osijek Match officials Referee István Kovács (ROU) Assistant referees Vasile Florin Marinescu (ROU) , Ovidiu Artene (ROU) Fourth official Marius Avram (ROU) UEFA Delegate Peter Lundström (FIN) UEFA Referee observer Costas Kapitanis (CYP) Referee UEFA EURO Name Date of birth UEFA matches matches István Kovács 16/09/1984 1 54 Istvan Kovacs Referee since: 1998 First division: 2007 FIFA badge: 2010 Tournaments: 2014 UEFA European Under-19 Championship Finals N/A UEFA European Championship matches featuring the two countries involved in this match No such matches refereed Other matches involving teams from either of the two countries involved in this match Stage Date Competition Home Away Result Venue reached 30/10/2011 U17 QR Croatia Belgium 3-4 Novigrad 26/07/2018 UEL 2QR HNK Hajduk Split PFC Slavia Sofia 1-0 Split 21/02/2019 UEL R32 GNK Dinamo Zagreb FC Viktoria Plzeň 3-0 Zagreb 6 Croatia - Wales Saturday 8 June 2019 - 15.00CET (15.00 local time) Match press kit Gradski vrt, Osijek Match-by-match lineups Croatia European Qualifiers (21/03/2019) Croatia 2-1 Azerbaijan Goals: 0-1 Sheydaev 19, 1-1 Barišić 44, 2-1 Kramarić 79 Croatia: Kalinić, Brekalo, Barišić, Perišić, Ćaleta-Car, Rakitić, Kovačić (73 Vlašić), Kramarić, Modrić (91 Badelj), Petković (69 Rebić), Vida (24/03/2019) Hungary 2-1 Croatia Goals: 0-1 Rebić 13, 1-1 Szalai 34, 2-1 Pátkai 76 Croatia: Kalinić, Barišić (30 Leovac), Perišić, Lovren, Rakitić, Kramarić, Modrić, Brozović, Jedvaj (77 Petković), Rebić (67 Brekalo), Vida (08/06/2019) Croatia-Wales (06/09/2019) Slovakia-Croatia (09/09/2019) Azerbaijan-Croatia (10/10/2019) Croatia-Hungary (13/10/2019) Wales-Croatia (16/11/2019) Croatia-Slovakia Wales European Qualifiers (24/03/2019) Wales 1-0 Slovakia Goals: 1-0 James 5 Wales: Hennessey, Davies, Mepham, Allen, Smith, Brooks (60 Roberts), Bale, Roberts, Lawrence, Wilson (87 Vaulks), James (72 A.
