Whereas “Drip” is concerned with preparing my favorite morning beverage, “Cork” is concerned with preparing my favorite evening beverage! :-) I was kind of following a "program" while composing the piece that goes something like this: A bottle of wine is opened. Wine flows into a wine glass, and a pretty, serene melody is played over a flowing accompaniment. The melody is just a bit out of time from the accompaniment - a little slower. Nothing quite lines up. The tune comes to a close and we get to “experience” the after-effects - basically, gentle melodic ideas that are not quite in time with one another. Eventually it is decided to open another bottle of wine. Here, the tempo is a little slower and the pitch is a little lower. We hear fragments of the original melody, but slower, and more out-of-sync with the flowing accompaniment. Eventually there is no coherent melody, and we assume the “protagonist” has dozed off to a pleasant sleep. Flute Cork N.B.: Accidentals apply only within the measure and octave in which they appear. They looked so funny : he was wearing a typical fifties hairstyle and she was dressed on the wave of the fifties. Suddenly I thought: “my God, what kind of movie is this?”. But this thought didn’t last long. I began to be interested in it as soon as i listened to the song “Summer Night”. The voice of Sandy (Olivia) was beautiful and so sweet. On the melody of “Hopelessly devoted to you” I immediately felt in love with that woman.

Produced annually by Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. between 1907 and 1931, these revues were and still are best-known for their lavish production numbers which brought unprecedented attention to members of the chorus. They have served as inspiration for generations of filmmakers, playwrights, and popular authors, but have only been studied by a small number of scholars, primarily those working in cultural studies. For the first time, this dissertation brings a musicological identity to the Follies by examining their songs. It addresses the legends surrounding certain songs so that their performance history can be better understood. It discusses representations of gender, race, and national identity in songs of the Follies, revealing the cultural beliefs Ziegfeld thought would be most acceptable to his largely white, middle-class audiences. It dissects comic song performances to show a specifically musical component to the humor of the Follies. Finally, it analyzes compositional techniques in the lyrics of Gene Buck and in the songs written by Irving Berlin for the Ziegfeld Follies of 1927 , the only Follies production to have been written by a single songwriter.

    Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.
