Hansa Katalogas V9 PRODUCTS CATALOGUE CONTENT KAUNAS ANNO 1999 STOVE ACCESSORIES ABOUT HANSA Company was founded in Lithuania in 1999 with help of German partners. Company started production and oered for local market its first accessories to use with heating appliances. All the production was based on German experience and traditions. It was very advanced step since local market was not so much familiar with the latest heating technologies and had no such products made locally. CHIMNEY CLEANING TEAM During 17 years of activity experience has grew up and number of HANSA team members has increased. However company members still like to describe themselves as small and very enthusiastic team – burning in every-day search for innovations. GLASS CLEANING TECHNOLOGY Only the newest and most advanced technologies that meet the global standards and ensure high quality of products are used for HANSA researches, development and production. ECOLOGY MAINTENANCE & REPAIRING Exhaustive researches allow HANSA to o¬er only responsibly selected products, produced exclusively from environmentally-friendly materials. Usage of these products not only causes no harm to environment, but often helps to reduce pollution in living environment. PRODUCTS FIREPLACE TOOLS In our days of fast evolution of high technologies HANSA focuses in creation of innovative and high quality products to match lifestyle and comfort needs of a modern person. Every new idea, research and step HANSA makes is because of its customers. Each product must be e¬ective, understandable and easy to use by any user regardless his experience. Sincere work in this field resulted that range of company products today is far beyond the boundaries of accessories for heating devices. And sale points of the products long ago crossed borders of Lithuanian market. Now HANSA products are well known in many European countries. LOG BASKETS IDEA & MISSION Years passed and the range of company products and number of customers significantly expanded. But fundamental values as German work tradition, innovation in production, high quality products and attitude to customer needs was never abandoned. So the mission remains the same: production of innovative, modern, high quality products, to accomplish stringent safety requirements and high environmental protection standards. Even when help is summoned to extinguish a klaze, aid does nct come in the form of a cadre cf highly trained firefighters; it comes instead from whomever Lappens to be in the area. In order to control and extinguish a fire in its early stages, citizens must have adequate warning that a fire has begun in a home and proper equipment readily at hand. This means smoke detection devices installed in all living units, as well as fire extinguishers placed in each home in the community. In the summertime, communities near a river or sea may utilize these water sources with portable fire pumps, hose and nozzles, but in the freezing temperatures of winter only fire extinguishers can be used. This marual on fire protection is divided intc three sections.

  • Fireplace Safety & Maintenance
Fireplace Safety & Maintenance When the colder temperatures start to set in, many homeowners will turn to their fireplace, wood or pellet stoves as an additional heat source. While fireplaces can provide warmth and comfort, if you are not careful, they can also be a hazard. Keep in mind the following precautions to help ensure a safe winter season. Keep Your Chimney Fireplaces and Wood Stoves Clean • Have your chimney, fireplace, wood or pellet stove inspected and cleaned by a licensed chimney specialist. They should be maintained annually to help ensure they are functioning safely and efficiently. • Be sure to keep the area around the hearth clear of debris, decorations and any other combustible materials. • If you have a wood burning, insert or pellet stove, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for additional guidance related to operation and venting. Keep Fires Burning Safely • Be sure the flue is open before lighting your fire to help ensure the fireplace will vent properly. Do not close your damper until you are sure the fire is out. • When starting a fire, only use a match or commercial firelighter. Never use flammable liquids to start a fire. • Glass doors of a fireplace should be kept open while burning a fire. This allows the fire to receive enough air for complete combustion and to help reduce creosote build-up in the chimney. • Metal mesh screens should remain closed whenever your fireplace is in use to help keep embers in the fireplace. • Only use dry wood in your fireplace. Wet wood can increase creosote buildup, which can lead to chimney fires.

  • Wood Burning Stove Users Guide
Wood Burning Stove Users Guide Choosing Wood Stove Refueling Stove Maintenance Stove Tips This Guide Will Cover How to choose the right fuel What fuel to avoid Using Your Stove Maintaining Your Stove Storing Firewood Stove Tips Choosing The Right Wood The Right Type of Wood The best fuel for stoves is softwood logs with no more than 20% moisture content for the best burn. Kiln dried or seasoned work equally as well, but they must be seasoned long enough to achieve low moisture levels. Why Dry Wood? Dry wood produces less smoke and more heat, and so is much cleaner and better for the environment. Having a too high water percentage will increase pollution, produce a poor level of heat output and cause tar to form in your chimney. How To Use a Moisture Meter Place the prongs into the log and the meter will take an accurate measurement for you and display it on the meter. You can get a moisture meter from many online retailers, and also at most fire showrooms which supply Charlton & Jenrick stoves. Fuels You Shouldn't Use House Coal Never burn house coal on closed stoves. It causes severe soot and tar build up, and will not provide a good heat output compared to proper closed stove fuel. Smokeless Coal/Briquettes Whilst some of stoves are able to burn good quality smokeless coal, any type of mineral fuel is far more aggressive than wood and will shorten the life of the internal stove parts. Sulphur contained in mineral fuels combines with moisture and forms sulphuric acid which attacks metal, ceramic components (including the glass) and flue linings.

  • Ashes Are Cool
Fireplace Safety Tips Fireplaces continue to be an increasingly popular option in homes. It’s important to ensure residents take precautions when choosing, installing, and maintaining a fireplace. More than 14,000 fires are started by fireplaces each year. Oftentimes, these fires escalate and cause a full-blown house fire resulting in injury and death. Causes may include: damaged fireplace with missing bricks, damaged flues, obstructed flues, ignition of nearby combustibles, sparks, overloaded firebox, or an improperly installed built-in metal fireplace. Important Safety Tips • Inspect the fireplace. Make sure it has adequate protective linings and smoke ducts. Ensure the chimney is clean and in good condition. • If you are installing a factory-made fireplace, it should not be near combustible materials. It should also have adequate flame and heat barriers. • Inspect chimneys annually, and clean as necessary, by a CSIA (Chimney Safety Institute of America) certified Chimney Sweep. This reduces the risk of fire and carbon monoxide poisonings due to creosote buildup or obstructions in the chimneys. To locate a certified sweep, visit the CSIA Web site at www.csia.org or call 1-800-536-0118. A certified sweep can also perform maintenance on your wood stove or help remove gas logs from a fireplace. • Keep the top of chimneys clear of tree limbs or debris. • Install a chimney cap to keep debris and animals out of the chimney. • Always open the damper before lighting the fire and keep it open until the ashes are cool. This will avert the buildup of poisonous gases, such as carbon monoxide.
