GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY

A key component of our youth grouping program at Temple Israel is engaging our youth in acts of gemilut chasidim (loving kindness) and tikkun olam (repair of the world).

Nineteen youth in grades 5-12 spent an afternoon in early December creating huggable bears to donate as holiday gifts to children served by Jewish Family and Children’s Service.

TIFTY high school yough group members volunteered at our annual Thanksgiving dinner for those in need.

On December 24, TIFTY hosted a family cooking decorating event. For a small donation, each member received three cookies to decorate. The cookies were then packaged and delivered as holiday treats to area police and fire stations.

Many meaningful and FUN activities are on tap this semester for youth in grades 5 - 12.

Our Gold, Silver, and Blue holiday luncheon for our Temple Israel members ages 80 and older was a big success! More than 60 guests enjoyed a delicious lunch, a serenade of Chanukah songs by some of our adorable preschoolers, a sneak peak at our renovated Gall Family Sanctuary, and a special goodie bag filled with holiday treats, all while reconnecting with friends old and new.
