Baby Beluga

The beluga Whale (Delphinapterus Leucas) is one of the Noisiest of all whales. Early British whalers called the “Sea Canaries” because of their never ending bird-like chatter.

Belugas are beautiful, graceful, intelligent animals, almost pure white in color, growing up to 16’ in length and weighing up to 1000 kilograms. They can live up to 35 years in their Home in the Arctic waters and the St. Lawrence River. Their Hearing is their best developed sense, and allows them to find food and communicate over many miles under water.

When Raffi saw a Beluga at the Aquarium, it was love at first sight.
