Introducing the new ‘Pay Stub’ for LOCiS 7. The utility basically prints a Proof of Pay- ment. One check/payment per page. It can be accessed in Paycheck history on an employee by employee and date by date basis. Instead of printing the Check History Listing (PCL), an option exists to print these stubs. 2 JANUARY 2018 NEWSLETTER With a New Year Comes New Resolutions This is the perfect time to test your backups and make sure you have a plan in place for disaster recovery. We at LOCiS recommend daily backups of the LOCiS directory as well as your documents’ directories. Make sure to use 2 different backups, 1 on-site and 1 off-site. If there is a fire or robbery, and you lose your computer and on-site backup, you will be happy you had one off-site. Talk to a LOCiS representative about what we can do to help. This is also a good time to call in your IT team to go over your computers. How are you doing for space on your hard drive? You don’t want to run out in the middle of the day and be in a panic. Time to clean up that recycle bin and delete items you don’t need. Also, think about how old your computers are! Remember, LOCiS doesn’t support Windows XP anymore, so now might be a great time to upgrade. We can recommend a computer for you and work with moving your LOCiS system to the new computer. How about a little cleaning? Have you ever thought how dirty your computer is? Dust and dirt can cause your computer to fail prematurely. Take a little time to get a can of compressed air and some cleaning wipes and clean up everything. Think about changing your password. Your password is your gateway to your computer and you would not want an “intruder” to jeopardize your system. 3 JANUARY 2018 NEWSLETTER 10 Fun Facts 1. You can’t wash your eyes with soap. 2. January Trivia January was named after the Roman god Janus, who ruled over beginning and transitions. He is a bit two-faced...literally. He is often depicted as having two faces, one that looks forward and one that looks to the past. Wheel of Fortune began its long-running spin on TV, with host Chuck Woolery at the helm, in January 1975. January 15, 1967 was when the first Super Bowl was held.
