Trip Report – RBL Ethiopia Endemics II & Lalibela Historical Extension II 2019 2

Tour Summary Our first full day started with an early breakfast from our hotel in Addis Ababa. Addis Ababa means “New Flower”. After breakfast we met our three skilled drivers; Brahn, Samegn and Asaye and we split up into the three 4x4’s that we would be using for the tour and left Addis Ababa just in time to miss all the traffic. Our first birding spot for the day was Lake Chelekleka and we made three different stops around the lake where we got to see a good variety of waterbirds. We saw White-faced and Fulvous Whistling Ducks, some female Knob-billed Ducks, Red-billed and Hottentot Teals, White-backed Ducks, Red-knobbed Coots and had a very tricky time trying to get the spotting scope on a persistent diving Maccoa Duck. Western Marsh Harriers were seen quartering over the wetlands and a Lesser Spotted Eagle was seen flying over the wetlands too! Black-tailed Godwit, Common, Green and Wood Sandpipers, African Sacred, Hadada and Glossy Ibises were also seen as well as Gul-billed Tern and a Black- crowned Crane flying in the distance. The vegetation next to the lake produced Eurasian Blackcap, African Yellow Warbler, Crimson-rumped Waxbill, a beautiful pair of Black-billed Barbets, Red-cheeked Cordon-bleu, Grey-backed Camaroptera, Fan-tailed Ravens, Western Yellow Wagtails as well as Yellow-billed and Black Kites. We moved onto a new lake called Lake Hora and before we reached the actual lake, we hit a good hotspot in the woodland on the way. We got excellent views of Blue-breasted Blue-breasted Bee-eater Bee-eater, a fantastic close look at a rufous male Paradise by Gareth Robbins Flycatcher, close views of a male Black-winged Lovebird, a female Common Redstart, Ruppel’s Robin-Chat, African Thrush, African Dusky Flycatcher, Eastern Olive Woodpecker, Willow Warbler, banded Barbet, Speke’s Weaver, Lesser Honeyguide, Blue-naped Mousebirds taking minerals from the rocks, Red-billed Firefinches, Bronze Mannikins and Brown-throated Martins frequenting visiting the nest holes in the rocks. We finally made it to the water and had good looks at Pied Kingfisher, White-breasted Cormorant and Pink-backed Pelican before driving to Lake Bishoftu. We visited a hotel and had traditional coffee on the veranda while spotting Red-winged Starlings, Red-eyed Doves, Variable Sunbirds and Laughing Doves. We then took a long drive to Lake Koka spotting Purple Rollers, Dar-chanting Goshawk and Crowned Lapwings along the way. When we arrived at Lake Koka, we were greeted by a few African Fish Eagles as well as another Black-crowned Crane, Ruppel’s Black-winged Lovebird by Gareth Robbins

Starlings and brief glimpses of a Nile Crocodile. We stopped for a late lunch at a hotel at Lake Ziway and after a few large portions of food, we took a walk along the banks of the river and managed to see plenty of Great White Pelicans, African Darters, Reed Cormorants, Little Bee-eater and the stunning Northern Carmine Bee-eater, Ruppel’s and Baglafecht Weavers, Squacco Heron, African jacana and Malachite and Woodland Kingfishers. Just as we were about to leave, we had a good look at a Beautiful Sunbird in the Hotel Parking lot. We then took the final journey to our lodge spotting three Temminck’s Courser followed by a group of ten Abyssinian Ground Hornbills right next to the side of the road. As we approached the lodge, we saw Superb Abyssinian Ground Hornbill by Gareth Robbins Starlings, White-headed Buffalo-Weavers, White-browed Sparrow-Weavers and a Black-crowned Tchagra. We finally arrived at our beautiful lodge on the edge of Lake Langano. Some birds were such as White-bellied Go-away-birds, Black-billed Woodhoopoes, Rattling Cisticola and Slender-tailed Nightjar were seen before dinner. After a delicious dinner and a good night’s rest, we met for a short pre-breakfast walk on the property. We didn’t walk too far before we saw some birdlife. We got good looks at Red-throated Wryneck, Marico Sunbird, Northern Black Flycatcher, Eastern Grey Woodpecker, Black-billed Woodhoopoes, Rattling Cisticola, two African Harrier-Hawks in flight, Common Kestrel as well as Abyssinian and Isabelline Wheatears. We then had breakfast where we were joined by two female Mocking Cliff Chats which made themselves at home and scavenged for some bits of food left behind from people eating breakfast. We met our three expert drivers and headed off in the direction of Bishangari getting great looks a Double-toothed Barbet, a close look at an African Harrier-Hawk hunting for small animals in a dead tree, Wattled Ibis, Crowned Lapwing and a Thick- billed Raven feeding on a dead Rooster. We finally arrived at Fig Forest at Bishangari and met the local guide for the area and commenced with our birding. We got some great looks at Brown-throated Wattle-eye, Orange- breasted Bushshrike, Nubian Woodpecker on the edge of the forest and once we entered, it didn’t take us long to have great views of a beautiful White-cheeked Turaco standing on top of a dead tree in the open. We were hearing and getting brief glimpses of Yellow-fronted Parrots, there were Silvery-cheeked Hornbills everywhere, a male Eurasian Blackcap, Tambourine and Lemon Doves, a beautiful male African Paradise Flycatcher, Bronze Mannikins, Ruppel’s Robin-Chat, Abyssinian Thrushes, Slender-billed Starlings, White-rumped Babblers, another Double- toothed Barbet, Black Saw-wings, Hemprich’s Hornbill and at least thirty White-cheeked Turacos, that were going berserk in the fruiting Fig Trees! Lunch time had snuck upon us, so we visited a nearby lodge situated along Lake Langano where there was plenty of fruiting Fig Trees and a nice vantage point to scan for shorebirds in front of the lodge. There were Pied Kingfishers, African Fish Eagles, Senegal Thick-knees, Woolly-necked Storks, Ruff, Black-tailed Godwits, Grey-headed Gulls, White-winged Terns, Grey-backed Fiscal and a great look at a Banded Barbet. After a delicious lunch and some good local coffee, we headed back to the Fig Forest getting superb looks at Yellow-fronted Parrots and a Bruce’s Green Pigeon sitting in a leafless tree. Once we arrived, our local guide managed to get a few of us onto a very shy skulking Abyssinian Ground Thrush and we ended off the day with some excellent looks at male and female Narina Trogons in through the spotting scope. When we arrived back at the lodge, we took a short break before meeting at dusk where we got excellent close White-cheeked Turaco by views of Slender-tailed Nightjars and then continued onto dinner. Gareth Robbins Another excellent bird-filled day in Ethiopia! We started our day with a sighting of Northern White-faced Owls sitting in a tree near the Langano Lake just after breakfast and we had a lovely close view of a Little Weaver in the dining room at breakfast. We then left our comfortable lodge and just outside the Abijatta Shalla National Park we saw a couple of White-backed and Hooded Vultures feeding on some dead cows that were knocked down by an unlucky vehicle. We also saw a pretty male Somali Ostrich just inside the fence line of the National Park having a look at all the commotion. We then entered the large busy town of Shashemene and headed in the direction of the town of Dinsho situated at the entrance of the Bale Mountains National Park. En route to Dinsho, we stopped for Blue-winged Geese, Red-breasted Wheatear, the stunning Groundscraper Thrush, African Stonechat, Common Waxbills and a male Yellow Bishop. We then stopped for an early lunch and then continued onto the town of Dinsho and as we started to gain altitude the temperature halved from where we had started from this morning. We finally arrived at the entrance to the Bale Mountains National Park and at a small pond, we saw a few more Blue-winged Geese and a Rouget’s Rail. A little further along the way we stopped for the rare Mountain Nyala and Common Warthogs and we also got to see the dumpy Moorland Chat, Streaky Seedeater and an Ethiopian Cisticola. The clouds darkened and as soon as we arrived at the Dinsho Forest the rain had arrived! We met the local guide and despite the rain and wet, we still saw Abyssinian Catbird, African Wood Owls and a very grumpy looking Abyssinian Owl! After a successful search for birds in the rain, we continued to our lodge at the base of the Bale Mountains where we could dry off and try to keep warm.

Ethiopian Wolf by Gareth Robbins After breakfast, we made our way up to the Sanetti Plateau which is about four thousand metres above sea level. The drive up was very productive getting some great looks at plenty of Rouget’s Rails, Moorland Chats, Baglafecht Weavers, many Wattled Ibises, Streaky and Brown-rumped Seedeaters as well as good looks at Chestnut-naped Francolins. Once we reached the plateau, we started to see Augur Buzzards as well as Greater Spotted and Steppe Eagles, Red-throated Pipit, Thekla’s Larks, Blue-winged Goose, Ruddy Shelduck, plenty of Ethiopian Siskins and a Red-billed Chough! Two male Klipspringers also showed themselves standing typically on top of the rocky hillside. We arrived at a large pond at the top of the plateau and suddenly two beautiful Ethiopian Wolves appeared behind the pond giving us some great looks. We watched the rare canids before they disappeared behind a small hill. We continued over the plateau and down into the Harenna Forest getting good looks at Tacazze Sunbird and a long-distance view of a Crowned Eagle. We stopped for a picnic lunch and got to get brief views of Abyssinian Spot-breasted Lapwing by Gareth Robbins Catbird, Variable Sunbirds and a male Pin-

This time around we saw Lanner Falcons and got great close looks at the endemic Spot-winged lapwing close to the road. After a full day of excitement, we made our way back down to our lodge getting fantastic looks at a Chestnut-naped Francolin with five chicks! Today was one of the longer travel days that we had ahead of us, however, we had a good variety of habitats to cover. We had a much faster drive through the Bale Mountains National Park and stopped on the edge of the Sanetti Plateau and began our search for the Moorland Francolin. After some searching, we finally heard the Francolin calling and at this moment a Serval popped out of the vegetation and ran off into the distance giving us all enough time to admire this fascinating cat! We then drove on and we heard the Francolins calling and finally, we managed to see three birds. We continued over the highest road in African and then made our way down to the Harenna Forest where we made several stops with good results. We got better looks at Abyssinian Catbird, Montane White- Ruspoli’s Turaco by Gareth Robbins eye, Brown Woodland Warbler, Abyssinian Ground Thrush, Ethiopian Oriole, Ruppel’s Robin-Chat, Yellow-bellied Waxbills, brief views of an Abyssinian Woodpecker, Abyssinian Crimsonwings and a Tacazze Sunbird. A long bumpy drive awaited us, as well as wet roads as there had been a tremendous amount of rain over the last few days in these areas. We finally made a short lunch stop in a very productive Acacia Woodland area. While we waited for our drivers to organise the lunch we saw plenty of birds such as the beautiful Red-and-yellow Barbets, Spotted Palm Thrush, Slate-coloured Boubou, Red-fronted Barbet, a female Straw-tailed Whydah, a male Red-headed Weaver, Shelley’s Starling, Pied Wheatear and magnificent views of a male Shining Sunbird! We packed up after lunch and made the journey to the Prince Ruspoli’s Turaco site. Once we arrived, we were greeted by a mob of young boys all waiting to show us the Turaco. After navigating through slippery and muddy slopes, we finally got amazing unobstructed views of two impressive Ruspoli’s Turacos. The final journey to the town of Negele took almost two hours and after checking into the White-crowned Starling by Gareth Robbins

We had an early start to the day as our main target was the rare and range-restricted Archer’s lark. Once we arrived at the Liben Plains, we met a local guide also called Liben who took us to the spot where we could observe this rare bird! We got some great looks and we also got to see Plain-backed Pipits, Red- tailed Shrike, Reichenow’s Seedeater, Cut- throat Finches, Pallid Harrier, Somali Short- toed Lark, Temminck’s Coursers with young, Pectoral-patch Cisticola and a couple of Ethiopian Swallows. We then continued along the bumpy dirt road spotting the pretty White-crowned Starlings, Yellow-necked Spurfowl, Kori Bustard in flight, Boran Cisticola, Common Kestrel and a close view of a White-bellied Bustard. We finally arrived in some acacia woodland and we immediately started to see a few new bird species such as Black-headed Oriole, Western Black-headed Batis, White-headed Buffalo Weaver, Northern Crombec, Yellow- Golden-breasted Starling by Gareth Robbins spot Petronia, Tiny Cisticola and Tree Pipits. Further on we got Acacia Tit, Abyssinian Woodhoopoes, Eastern Yellow-billed Hornbill and Eastern Chanting Goshawk. We drove back to the town of Negele and saw a Somali Crow, Red-billed Buffalo Weaver and a couple of Lilac-breasted Rollers. After lunch and a siesta, we headed back out for a few hours and birded in some acacia woodland next to the side of the road managing to see two lovely White- crested Helmetshrikes bashing a few caterpillars, Grey-headed Bushshrike, Levaillant’s Cuckoos, Rufous-tailed Scrub Robin and a male Straw-tailed Whydah busy feeding in a pile of hay/straw! We ended the day with another great dinner at a local restaurant nearby to the hotel. Today was another long travel day, however, we were driving through some excellent Acacia Woodland for around two hundred and seventy kilometers which means that we had some excellent chances to see some top birds. Some of the highlights for the drive were Black-throated Barbet, Black-faced Sandgrouse, the outrageous Golden- breasted Starling, Yellow-breasted Apalis, Grey Wren-Warbler, Eastern Violet-backed Sunbird, Pygmy Batis, a huge Marital Eagle with a full crop, d’Arnaud’s Barbet, Scarlet-chested Sunbird, Grey Kestrels, a beautiful dark morph Gabar Goshawk, Red-naped Bushshrike, Pygmy Falcon, Rosy- Red-and-Yellow Barbet by Gareth Robbins

We met our local guide Jarso, our local guide for the next one and a half days in the town of Mega where we had lunch. After a local injera lunch, we drove one hundred kilometers to the town of Yabelo. We saw the beautiful White-tailed Swallow a couple of times as we were driving, we also saw Black-winged Lapwing, Pearl-spotted Owlet, Rufous Chatterer, Somali Bunting, Brown Snake Eagle, Pale Prinia and one of the most sought- after birds of the tour; the Stresemann’s Bush Crow! We finally arrived at our hotel in Yabelo and had an entertaining dinner. We met Jarso again in the morning and drove to the Soda Plain. We had Shelley’s Sparrow and Black-capped Social Weavers as we arrived at the plains and then we got out and Stresemann’s Bush Crow by Gareth Robbins walked while our drivers prepared a bush breakfast for us. We got to get close looks at Foxy Lark and Somali Bunting and then had a delicious breakfast while enjoying close views of the cute White-tailed Swallows and a displaying pair of Rosy- patched Bushshrikes! We then drove through the plains in the search for Somali Coursers and got two birds right next to the first vehicle. We then found another small group as well as a Bateleur, Banded Parisoma and a stunning Klaas’s Cuckoo. We drove back in the direction of Yabelo and made a few stops along the way getting views of Pringle’s Puffback, Northern Grosbeak Canary and Bare- eyed Thrush. After lunch and a siesta, we headed back out in the late afternoon and this time we got some great looks at White-bellied Canary, Scaly Chatterer, Vitelline Masked Weaver, Mouse- coloured Penduline Tits and two male Black Cuckooshrikes chasing each other. Today was a travel day leaving the Yabelo Area and making our way to the large town of Awassa. We decided to try and get to Lake Awassa as soon as possible so most of the morning was a travel day stopping briefly for breakfast along the way. We finally arrived at our lodge with hot water and proper showers in the early afternoon and after checking in we had a late lunch. We decided to dedicate most of the afternoon to find the African Vulturine Guineafowl by Gareth Robbins Spotted Creeper which we did, after some excellent spotting from one of the guests. The lodge grounds were also full of Grivet and Colobus Monkeys, many Marabou Storks and a noisy Silvery-cheeked Hornbills. We then walked along the shores of Lake Awassa getting good looks at Hippopotamus, Blue-

Rockjumper Birding Tours View more tours to Ethiopia Trip Report – RBL Ethiopia Endemics II & Lalibela Historical Extension II 2019 9 breasted Bee-eaters, Black Crake, Purple Heron, Spectacled Weaver, Malachite and Pied Kingfishers, Lesser Swamp Warbler, African Jacanas, Wire-tailed Swallows, African Fish Eagles, Bronze Mannikins, Squacco Herons and a close views of a Woodland Kingfisher and a male African Paradise Flycatcher. We ended the day with some birthday celebrations and some good food and cake! We started off the day with a short walk along lake Awassa getting close views of White-rumped Babblers as well as good looks at Allen’s Gallinule, Common Moorhen and Spectacled Weaver. We then walked around the hotel ground getting looks at three African Spotted Creepers and spent some time watching the large Silvery-cheeked Hornbill feeding on pieces of lichen from the trees. After breakfast, we visited another section of the lake getting good views of Double-toothed Barbets. We then left Awassa Town and headed in the direction of Lake Ziway. There were a good number of stunning Northern Carmine Bee-eaters along the way. By midday, we arrived at the Abijatta Shalla National Park and met African Spotted Creeper by Gareth Robbins our local scout who took us on a short walk producing views of Black Scimitarbill, Western Barn Owl, and a couple of Somali Ostriches. We hopped back into the 4x4’s and after some excellent spotting from our scout, we got to get excellent views of two Greyish Eagle Owls. We drove through the rest of the park stopping at the shores of Lake Shalla getting some new species for the trip. These were Marsh Sandpiper, Little Stint, Black- necked and Cape Teals. We also had good close views of Greater Flamingos. We then drove to Lake Ziway and when we arrived at our hotel, we checked in and had a late lunch. In the late and cooler part of the afternoon, we took a walk along the lake seeing African Snipe, White Wagtail, Lesser Black-backed Gulls and Black- headed Gulls. In the evening, we enjoyed a relaxing dinner before our next part of the adventure. Today was in a sense a travel day, so after some morning birding at Lake Ziway with sightings of Sedge Warbler, Black-crowned Cranes mating and a couple of regulars, we drove towards the large town of Adama. Rockjumper Birding Tours View more tours to Ethiopia Trip Report – RBL Ethiopia Endemics II & Lalibela Historical Extension II 2019 10 birded in some mixed Acacia habitat and got views of Chestnut-backed Sparrowlarks, Cinnamon- breasted Bunting and we managed to flush an Abyssinian Hare. Our next stop was at the municipal dump and here, we finally connected with Ruppel’s Vultures as well as White-backed Vultures and plenty of Marabou Storks. The rest of the day was spent at our lodge and with a large enough garden to bird in we managed to pick up a few species of birds such as Western Black- headed Batis, Shining Sunbird, Eurasian Blackcap and a Peregrine Falcon. We left the bustling town of Adama after an early breakfast to ensure we arrived at Lake Beseka early enough to get the best chances for the Sombre Rock Chat. We were greeted by a large troop of Hamadryas Baboons once we arrived at Lake Beseka and it didn’t take Eastern Plantain-eaters by Gareth Robbins us long to locate the Sombre Rock Chat! We also got some excellent close views of the beautiful Northern Carmine Bee-eater a little further down the road. Our next stop was Awash Falls National Park. Once we arrived, we drove directly to the lodge stopping for Grey-headed Batis and Abyssinian Rollers. After lunch and a siesta, we met Mohammed who would be assisting us for the next two days and then proceeded to walk down to the river. Even though we left later than usual it was still very light and after some time we finally managed to catch up with four Eastern Plantain-eaters! Shikra and Little Sparrowhawk were seen on or walk back to the lodge and then we headed out for an evening drive. On the drive we had one close view of a Nightjar that flushed from the road, we also saw Bat-eared Foxes and Abyssinian Hares too! We had a full day to explore the park, so after breakfast, we met up with Mohammed once again and headed back out into the National Park. The first new bird of the trip was a Black-chested Snake Eagle sitting on a telephone pole and soon more new sightings started to follow as well such as Masked Shrike, Buff-crested Bustard, Gillet’s Lark, Three-banded Courser by Gareth Robbins an Immature Steppe Grey Shrike, Woodchat Shrike and a Golden Jackal. We visited a lookout area at an old lodge overlooking the Awash River and then continued our search for new birds and mammals. We came across a large herd of Beisa Oryx and there were also some Soemmerring’s Gazelles present too! Mohammed took us to a special spot where we got a look at three Three-banded Plovers hiding in the short grass under an Acacia tree and further on we got to see two White-bellied Bustards and a Kori Bustard trying to protect it’s one and only chick from a hungry Eastern Chanting Goshawk. By midday it was very hot, so after lunch and a relaxing afternoon, we headed back out in the cooler part of the day, this time getting decent looks at a Common Nightingale even though it was very reluctant at first. We re-visited the Star-spotted Nightjar site a little bit earlier this time and after waiting for about half an hour, we heard the faint call from one bird. We got brief looks at one bird as well as a Greyish Eagle Owl and then as we walked back to the vehicles, we got great looks at another three birds on the other side of the road. Our drive back to the lodge yielded better views of Bat-eared Foxes and Abyssinian Hares. After a delightful dinner, we went to sleep with the sounds of Spotted Hyena calling nearby.

Black-headed Lapwing eyeing out a large Puffadder by Gareth Robbins After an early breakfast, we left Awash Falls National Park spotting a female Amur Falcon, Black- chested Snake Eagle, and Three-banded Courser along the way out. We then drove to the Aledeghi Nature Reserve where we met Saied who was our local guide and scout for the morning. The morning in the plains was very successful with a good number of Arabian Bustards, Long-legged Buzzard, Short-toed Snake-eagle, a pair of Secretarybirds, African Collared Dove, European Turtle-Dove, many Montague’s Harriers and an interesting sighting of a large Puffadder moving amongst a few Black-headed Lapwings. We then visited the other side of the plains but this time the temperature had risen to over thirty degrees centigrade and activity was low. We still managed to pull out an Eastern Olivaceous Warbler, Western Grey-headed Batis and Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse. By early afternoon, we arrived at our lodge and had a late lunch. We took a short walk just beyond the property gate and this time we managed to get an immature male Nile-valley Sunbird and some decent looks at the shy Lichtenstein’s Sandgrouse. Today was the long drive to Debre Birhan. After an early downpour early in the morning, we woke to a wet and cooler day at our lodge. After breakfast, we checked out and made a good number of stops along the way to Debre Birhan. We got some good close looks at African Spoonbills not too long after leaving. We gained some altitude and arrived in an area called Melka Ghebdu and here we got amazing views of Abyssinian Roller as well as looks at Ethiopian Boubou and Abyssinian Waxbills. We climbed up to the Ankober Escarpment and familiar birds such as Moorland Chat, White-collared Pigeons and Wattled Ibises became a regular sighting. We did, however, manage to see Long-billed Pipit and the pretty Erlanger’s Lark. After a long time on some bumpy roads we finally reached the town of Debre Birhan where we finally caught up with a couple of Abyssinian Longclaws just outside of the town. We checked

We drove back to our hotel in Debre Birhan and then settled in for a delicious dinner and an early night’s sleep for the early start to the last day of the main tour. Today was the last day of the Endemics Tour and we had an early start to the day. We left our hotel in the dark and just as the sun had risen, we had arrived at the edge of the Jemma Valley where we began our search for some Francolins. The Erckel’s Francolin was the first bird to call and we got decent looks at the bird through the spotting scope. The Harwood’s Francolin called next and after Abyssinian Longclaw by Gareth Robbins some stressful searching, we finally got to see one bird standing and calling from the top of a tiny boulder. We continued our drive down into the Jemma Valley picking up sightings Nyanza Swift and White-billed Starlings. We eventually made it down to the Jemma River. We took a short walk along the riverside while the drivers prepared breakfast for us. We saw Black Stork, Bush Petronia, Black-winged Bishop and a Pearl-spotted Owlet before having another delicious breakfast prepared by our skillful drivers. We explored the river area and then made our way back up the Jemma Valley getting Deidrick’s Cuckoo, Speckle-fronted Weavers, Mountain Wagtail, Little Rock Thrush and signing Cisticola. Once we got to the top of the valley, we made our way back to Addis Ababa where we celebrated the end of a lovely few days of birding while some got ready to go on to the Lalibela Historical Extension. We departed in the early hours from our lodge to get onto our flight from Addis Ababa to Lalibela. Once we landed, we were greeted by Ermius our local historical guide and bird guide for the next three days. It did not take us to long before we were out of the tour bus and spotted a pair of African Hawk Eagles which were new for the tour! We drove up and through the town of Lalibela and then checked into our lodge and were greeted by the resident Hemprich’s Hornbills. We then headed back out to visit Erckel’s Francolin by Gareth Robbins the local market area and after lunch, the main historical

We visited a good number of churches in the afternoon and the church of Saint George was one of the highlights. The following day found us walking up the steep trail to the church of Ashetun Mariam situated four thousand metres above sea level. We did see some good birds on the way up, but the eye-level views of Bearded Vultures were most impressive. In the afternoon we visited a few more churches and getting great looks at African Paradise Flycatcher and Abyssinian Slaty Flycatcher. On our final day we had one last last morning of birding and were able to find a few more new birds for the trip such as the White-fronted Black Chat, Northern Wheatear, Ortolan Bunting, House Martin and Yellow-rumped Seedeater. Overall the whole Lalibela experience was well worth the trip and a great way to end the tour.
