Muppets Inside Download (1996 Puzzle Game) As was so often the case with The Muppet Show, The Muppet CD-ROM: Muppets Inside opens with a bang, or, more accurately, a crash. When you first load the disc, a fiendishly convincing technical glitch traps Kermit the Frog and friends inside your computer, after which they ride a "databus," facing challenges that'll lead them back to the real world. If that sounds a bit twee - even this longtime Muppets fan could take only so many references to "cache machines" and "cereal ports" - it's more than made up for by the clever execution, which will have parents and kids fighting over the mouse the way Kermit and Miss Piggy mixed it up in Muppet Treasure Island. Echoing The Muppet Show's vaudevillian format, Muppets Inside is an assortment of games starring what, for anyone over 18, is a nostalgic cast of characters. Among the attractions: "Beaker's Brain," in which Dr. Honeydew and his chirping, orange-wigged assistant dare you to arrange video clips in the correct order; "A Wocka on the Wild Side," in which you intercept fruits and veggies launched by angry audience members against the hapless Fozzie Bear; and, my favorite, "The Swedish Chef's Kitchen of Doom," a takeoff on you-know-what in which the unintelligible epicure wields whisks and eggbeaters against giant vegetables. All of these can be adjusted to suit the coordination of the very young, and many reward success with clips from The Muppet Show, whose uniformly excellent quality serves as a reminder of why the new, watered-down Muppets Tonight has yet to catch fire. Here, even the boilerplate stuff's hilarious. I defy any lawyer to keep a straight face as the Rat-torneys at Law, a group of rodents reminiscent of Babe's field-mouse chorus, perform "Roll Out the Notice (The Copyright Polka)" and the "Coincidental Disclaimer Rap." One of the best games of any kind, Muppets Inside is, similar to Monty Python's Complete Waste of Time, part adventure, arcade, trivia.. overall, it's a thoroughly entertaining product that perfectly captures the spirit of Jim Henson's beloved Muppet Show. With the help of Kermit the Frog and friends, you must find all pieces of a broken Muppets Inside CD-ROM by visiting various components inside your computer and playing mini- games. The 7 mini-games (including a hilarious DOOM spoof) are brilliant, and many nice touches (such as Fozzie the Bear's endless lame jokes) will put a smile on your face for days. In short, this is one great game for the whole family. Пожелания сообщества бета. "Apple anyone?" Playing this game is one of my most favorite childhood memories. This game still holds up as a fun, fmv experience.
Please put this game on the GOG store! A childhood favorite of mine and my family. Still own the discs, but a rerelease/remaster would make this game more accessible on modern computers. Hope it happens soon! This game really deserves a release, it's extremely charming and right up GOG's alley. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muppet_Treasure_Island#Video_game I believe the game deserves more support! I agree. Despite me being well over 20 I remember really enjoying this for the short time we had it. Love it to come to GOG so I can re-kindle my youth. I really want to play this again, please GOG! This is the Muppets at their best in a lovely comedy adventure game. I would buy it on day one. It's an old funny adventure game form 1996. Bring it back ya lazy landlubbers! Argh! Muppet Treasure Island (CD-ROM) Muppet Treasure Island was a CD-ROM game for the Windows PC, produced in 1996 by Activision to tie in with the release of Muppet Treasure Island . In the game, the player is "Hawkins," who leaves the Admiral Benbow Inn to sail to Treasure Island. Gonzo and Rizzo accompany the player -- and so does Stevenson the Parrot, a new Muppet character who provides hints throughout the game. The Muppet characters are seen as video clips overlaid on an animated background. The human actors in the game are Billy Connolly as Billy Bones and Tim Curry as Long John Silver. Contents. Part 1: Treasure Map at the Benbow Inn. Hawkins, with Stevenson the Parrot guiding him, listens with Gonzo and Rizzo to Billy Bones' tales about the treasure map. Billy Bones screams when he finds the black spot that Blind Pew left in his bedroom. Later on Hawkins finds the key to the sea chest which leads to the treasure map while running away from pirates from the Admiral Benbow Inn, The dynamite goes off but Rizzo falls in the molasses barrel and gets molasses all over Hawkins' clothes. Part 2: Shopping in Bristol Town. The player goes to Pops' Potpourri for new outfit to be more presentable to Squire Trelawney's butler, Jeeves. The butler introduces Squire Trelawney's half-wit son, who gives him a seal of passage so he can board the Hispaniola. He gives the seal of passage to Mr. Arrow. Part 3: Sailing on the Hispaniola Ship. Hawkins boards the Hispaniola and sails off on the sea to Treasure Island, where he is greeted by Captain Smollett and Long John Silver. He works on various tasks such as making apple pie, firing the cannon, building a ship model, weighing the anchor, and loading the lifeboat. Later that night, Hawkins looks at the night sky stars with Long John Silver and later Captain Smollett. Jim goes to sleep in a barrel. The next morning, Hawkins is awakened by Long John's meeting with the piratical crew, who plot a mutiny. The player warns the captain, who lets Hawkins take the steering helm and sail to Treasure Island. When they arrive, Long John Silver calls over to Hawkins to give him his walking crutch but then blindfolds and kidnaps the player. Part 4: Arriving at Treasure Island. On Treasure Island, Long John takes off the blindfold and lets Hawkins explore the island. Hawkins solves the Sealed Cave puzzle. Long John has Hawkins open the treasure chest only to find out it's empty, angering the pirates. Hawkins solves the skull word puzzle and opens the way to Benjamina Gunn's hideout. Hawkins meets Benjamina who has a talk with Smollett. The player finds the piles of gold coins and other precious treasures which are carried off to the ship. But the pirates took over the ship and are guarding the treasure. Hawkins throws coconuts at the pirates and takes down the Jolly Roger flag.

  • Transmedia Muppets: the Possibilities of Performer Narratives
Volume 5, Issue 2 September 2012 Transmedia Muppets: The Possibilities of Performer Narratives AARON CALBREATH-FRASIEUR, University of Nottingham ABSTRACT This article examines how the Muppets franchise engages with transmedia narratives, their stories moving fluidly between television, film, comics, the internet and more. Rather than highlight the complexity Henry Jenkins (2006), Elizabeth Evans (2011) and others associate with transmedia, an examination of the Muppets offers insight into a mechanism that allows for simpler coherent connection between texts. The Muppets’ ongoing performer narrative challenges the prevailing understanding of transmedia storytelling. As performative characters (singers, actors, performance artists), any text concerned with Muppets, even those in which they act as other characters, becomes part of an overarching Muppet narrative. A high degree of self-reflexivity further supports transmediality, as most Muppet texts contain references to that text as a performance by the Muppets. Thus the comic Muppet Robin Hood and the film Muppet Treasure Island continue the story of the Muppets as further insight is gained into the characters' personalities and ongoing performance history. Examining different iterations of the Muppets franchise illuminates the ramifications of performer narratives for transmedia storytelling. KEYWORDS Transmedia storytelling, franchise, narrative, Muppets, multi-platform For over fifty-five years the Muppets have been appearing in media texts. They began on local television but have spread across most contemporary mediums, with many of these texts part of the over-arching, ongoing Muppet story. This article explores an alternative framework for defining one form of transmedia storytelling. This model suggests a complication in the understanding of transmedia storytelling put forward by Henry Jenkins (2006) and Elizabeth Evans (2011).

TheA BUG’S Muppets LIFE Synopsis On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary and Gary’s girlfriend, Mary, from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman to raze Muppet Studios and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage a telethon and raise the $10 million needed to save the studio, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Bar- bara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. Discussion Questions • Gary and Walter are brothers, even though Gary is a person and Walter is a Muppet. Do you think it would have been hard growing up together and being so different, particularly as Walter is never any taller on the wall chart they keep at their home? • Toward the end of the film there is a key song that involves Gary and Walter. What do you think they are singing about when they mention being a man or being a Muppet? How do you think they end up realizing and embracing their true identities? • Gary tells Walter that the point of growing up is to be whoever or whatever you want to be. Who do you want to be? What kind of person do you want to be? Is that the same as what profession you want to have when you grow up? • There is a character in the film who is an executive for the television station.
