The FLOWERPOT is situated on the edge of the Derby City Centre on the main A6 road. A multi-storey car park is next to the venue on Chapel Street. This is open 24 hours. The Flowerpot is famed for its vast choice of real ales and is now recognised as one of the best live music venues in the country. The capacity is 250 if standing and 150 if the show is all seated. If you are travelling a long way, please check that tickets are still available for the show. If you are travelling by bus or train, the main stations are approximately 20 minutes walk from the venue - just head for the Derby Cathedral and the Flowerpot is 100 yards further on up the road. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE FLOWERPOT IS AN OVER 18 ONLY VENUE.

The autumn season is always a busy and exciting mixture of original touring bands and top calibre tributes. Something for everybody to enjoy. I always like to point out new names to the venue and this time we have a fair few stunning debuts. The founder members of top band Simple Minds have reformed as XSM. They delight the audience with Simple Minds classics as well as new material. Others include Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene, top dub reggae outfit Dreadzone, Miles Hunt from the Wonder Stuff and a classic guitarist who was the founder member of Bad Company and Mott The Hoople, Mick Ralphs. Muddy Water’s eldest son Mud Morganfield is at the venue in November. Lots of top tribute bands to check out as well in what is one of our busiest and best autumn seasons ever. Mitch Laddie Band Marrying his volcanic guitar sound with a pop sensibility style reminiscent of 'The Police', blues and rock fans in the UK and abroad had eagerly anticipated Mitch's latest effort, 'Burning Bridges' which was released in February 2012 on Mystic Records. The Mitch Laddie Band is a live experience that will leave anybody with an interest in guitar playing or vintage blues rock spellbound. Laurence Jones Band Laurence Jones and his band play a blend of the rocking blues with a groovy and catchy modern edge. Laurence is being talked as of one of the New up and coming UK Blues Guitarists. Laurence started playing the classical guitar at the age of 8 and has gone on to achieve grade 8 distinction. Hit records, critical acclaim and a huge, devoted fan base are theirs, due in part to their utterly storming live shows and Dreadzone show no sign of slowing down as they announce a host of live dates around the UK this Autumn. The core members Greg Dread, original bass- master Leo Williams, the unmistakable MC Spee, legendary reggae vocalist Earl 16 alongside Chris Compton on guitar and Bazil on technology make up the current Dreadzone live line up. Electro-dub pioneers Dreadzone formed in 1993 when ex-Big Audio Dynamite drummer Greg Roberts teamed up with Tim Bran, with the duo soon joined by bassist Leo Williams and keyboardist Dan Dono- van, also formerly of Big Audio Dynamite, completing the group’s first line-up. A festival favourite, Dreadzone opened the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 1994 and began to bring their unique blend of electro, dub and reggae to a wider audience, going on to chart seven Top 60 singles (including their Top 20 hit ‘Little Britain’) and are still going strong after 18 years. They released The Good, The Bad And The Dread - a compendium of their excellent musical story so far in 2011 and their groundbreak- ing 1995 album ‘Second Light’ was re-released in March 2012 by EMI as a two disc special edition featuring previously unreleased live concert material. The band are currently writing their eagerly awaited new studio album.
