A multi-storey car park is next to the venue on Chapel Street. This is open 24 hours. The Flowerpot is famed for its vast choice of real ales and is now recognised as one of the best live music venues in the country. The capacity is 250 if standing and 150 if the show is all seated. If you are travelling a long way, please check that tickets are still available for the show. If you are travelling by bus or train, the main stations are approximately 20 minutes walk from the venue - just head for the Derby Cathedral and the Flowerpot is 100 yards further on up the road. The autumn season is always a busy and exciting mixture of original touring bands and top calibre tributes. Something for everybody to enjoy. I always like to point out new names to the venue and this time we have a fair few stunning debuts. The founder members of top band Simple Minds have reformed as XSM. They delight the audience with Simple Minds classics as well as new material. Others include Simon and Oscar from Ocean Colour Scene, top dub reggae outfit Dreadzone, Miles Hunt from the Wonder Stuff and a classic guitarist who was the founder member of Bad Company and Mott The Hoople, Mick Ralphs. Muddy Water’s eldest son Mud Morganfield is at the venue in November. Lots of top tribute bands to check out as well in what is one of our busiest and best autumn seasons ever. Laurence Jones Band Laurence Jones and his band play a blend of the rocking blues with a groovy and catchy modern edge. Laurence is being talked as of one of the New up and coming UK Blues Guitarists. Laurence started playing the classical guitar at the age of 8 and has gone on to achieve grade 8 distinction. In 2006 he started to play the electric guitar and was influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Tony Mcphee, B.B King, Gary Moore and Albert Collins. Robinson Amid cries of "Stop the hate, before it's too late," 250 college students, including a group from Marist, marched through the city of Poughkeepsie on Sunday to protest racism. The march followed recent recruitment efforts by the Ku KLux Klan in Dutchess County. Members of Marist's Black Student Union, marching with students from five other colleges, made charges of racism on this campus, but they refused to comment on specific incidents. Students from Vassar College, Dutchess Community College, SUNY New Paltz, Columbia University and Howard University in Washington, D.C., walked hand-in-hand down the city's streets on a 12-mile "March Against Hate," beginning and ending at Vassar.
