The Christian Musician Summit (a.k.a. CMS) is a two day conference for musicians, worship leaders, technicians, songwriters, pastors and indie artists. This is our second year at the Chapel at Crosspoint in Buffalo, NY. Our hope and prayer is that this event continues to grow and provide ongoing support for Christian musicians in the Northeast. The mission of CMS Productions is to provide people involved with Christian music practical training all to and God’s resources glory. inWe order believe to improve that God their has skill and inspire their talent given us the gift of music to glorify Him, as well as to encourage one another, so let us not take this gift for granted. The scope of our vision is to provide training for everyone from the worship leader on stage in front of the congregation, to the sound and media technicians in the back of the room, and of course all of the musicians (guitarists, keyboardists, bassist, drummers, singers etc.) in between. Not only do we focus on musicians who play on worship teams in their churches but also the solo acts, singer/songwriters and Christian bands that play a variety of musical styles as well. We’ve been producing this event for six years on the west coast, and it’s been amazing to see the ripple effect that the CMS has had in lives of those who attend. We receive notes and emails from folks who share how they have returned home with a renewed sense of purpose; how their worship teams and bands have bonded in a way that unites them to be more effective in their ministry; and how entire congregations have been revived after their worship teams and leaders return with a revitalized sense of mission. God is truly at work, and we are honored to be used by Him in this way. All glory to the LORD! Blessings! He credits where he is today musically to that moment from his childhood when Lackey introduced him to different finger stylings for guitar. Dykes comes from a musical family. His father was a guitarist and gospel music aficionado. As a 3-year-old, Dykes and his talented brother would sing with the family in front of their church on Sunday mornings. Prior to the time Dykes received the monumental lesson on fingerpicking from Lackey, he became a Christian and gave his heart to Christ at age 11 while attending a youth group gathering in church.
