We know that many Chester County residents have abundant resources, a great deal of generosity, and significant community involvement. Arts, culture, education, human services, health care, and religion are important to the fabric of our community. We also attribute our substantial growth over the past year to the Foundation’s enhanced ability to handle complex gifts; especially planned gifts. The Community Foundation has evolved institutionally into a charitable organization that provides easy, tax-effective, customized solutions for complex philanthropic estate planning situations. Each of the Community Foundation’s major gifts received in the past year have been related to planned giving and estate planning. In most cases, professional advisors (estate planning attorney, accountant, financial planner, and/or investment manager) sought charitable options on behalf of their clients. The Community Foundation provides solutions they need. In the pages of this annual report, we highlight the professional advisor-client-community foundation relationship.
