We are still having problems sorting out the banking situation with TSB. We have to make an appointment with the TSB bank to sort out mailing address for statement this will be done as soon as possible.

A discussion around the possible planning permission of Persimmon Homes at the junction of road/Boydstone Road took place. Unsure if this is still going ahead. Persimmon propose a large site with 2,3,4& 5 bedroom houses/flats which will impact on the school catchment areas of but will also affect our area.

Community Business:

King George V park has recently been given a little make over with the gates and stone pillars being renovated, giving the park a more inviting appearance. The play area has also been brightened up with items being painted and new surfaces. Work continues.

The renovation of Carnwadric Community Hall with the help of GHA is underway and the work should be complete by the end of April. The Hall is looking much more appealing.

Mrs. Ainslie has reported that the resurfacing of the pavements at Boydstone Place have not been done to a very good standard and is already starting to become patchy. As is the road resurfacing. The residents are not happy with the situation. Children and pets are being hampered by the soft tar and this is also causing distress to the residents. Part of the pavement was missed because the contractor’s lorry was parked on it, drains have been covered again which will cause flooding.

Community Business cont./…

This will be brought to the attention of the councillors at our next meeting. Residents are worried that GCC are paying for bad workmanship and this is not being checked.

The problem of some residents leaving bins out on the road between uplifts is also causing a litter problem in the area. This may be something that the local housing associations/council should be made aware of.

There is still a traffic problem stemming from commuters using Thornliebank Rail Station. Residents ask that yellow lines or parking restrictions are made to prevent parking on corners at junctions of Boydstone Place/Boydstone Road ; Cruachan Street/Boydstone Road and Clova Street/Boydstone Road. The cars are parked on the pavements around these junctions and are causing an obstruction to pedestrians and other road users.

Councillors’ Update: No Councillors in attendance. Cllr Curran sent message stating Kennishead Avenue has been resurfaced towards the bus terminus roundabout and other roads for current and coming weeks include Boydstone Road and a section of Thornliebank Road.
