The college provides high-quality transfer, liberal arts, professional/technical, basic skills and continuing education for students of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds. 1 -Commencement Speaker - ROCÍO CARRIÓN Rocío’s purpose in life is to inspire. She has been in this country since age six, with roots from México and Nicaragua. Rocío is pursuing a masters degree in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship at the Harvard Graduate School of Education this fall. She graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Sociology in 2010. She is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of I AM Empowerment LLC, a transformational leadership organization. As an undocumented Latinx womxn of color, Rocío has learned to embrace every challenge, leading her to a life of resiliency and fulfillment. - A Message - FROM THE WVC BOARD OF TRUSTEES The Board of Trustees exists to help guide the college in fulfilling its mission. The importance of that mission is never more apparent than at graduation. We take great pride in seeing the students of WVC take ownership of their lives and their futures by pursuing their education. To the Class of 2021, you have our sincere congratulations. This journey toward your education is only the first step toward a brighter future. We cannot wait to see what you accomplish next.
