2014 McDonald’s All American Games Boys POY Finalists CLIFF ALEXANDER - #11 Height: 6-9 • Weight: 235 Position: Forward/Center • Curie Metro High School, IL Hometown: Chicago, IL • College: Kansas PPG: 26 • RPG: 16 • BPG: 5 Alexander is a tremendous interior post player who dominates the boards on both ends of the floor. Along with serving as a rebounding force, Alexander is known as an interior defender, blocking shots and denying his opponents the ball. With great height and strength, he’s also developed a consistent hook shot and uses that to his advantage when getting the ball in the post. Alexander is one of three Chicago-area players to make the 2014 team and will join forces with West team player Kelly Oubre Jr. at Kansas this fall. STANLEY JOHNSON - #5 Height: 6-7 • Weight: 220 Position: Guard • Mater Dei High School, CA Hometown: Fullerton, CA • College: Arizona PPG: 27 • RPG: 11 • APG: 6 Johnson dominates games with his strength and athleticism, overpowering opponents at will. He is an adept ball handler, making it a challenge to stop him in the open court. Johnson can also score from multiple spots on the court, using his size to score inside and his guard skills to be effective on the perimeter. Johnson is the latest McDonald’s All American from Mater Dei High School (CA) which has produced six other McDonald’s All Americans including David and Travis Wear (2009) and Taylor King (2007). Johnson will play for Arizona and coach Sean Miller in the fall. TYUS JONES - #21 Height: 6-1 • Weight: 180 Position: Guard • Apple Valley High School, MN Hometown: Apple Valley, MN • College: Duke PPG: 27.7 • RPG: 4 • APG: 7 Jones has the ability to improve his teammates’ performances with his leadership and composure on the court. He also possesses adept court vision, finding his teammates in ideal spots to convert. With excellent speed, Jones can lead the fast break or attack defenses in the half-court offense where he can score at the rim. During his high school career, Jones earned two gold medals with Team USA. In the fall, he and 2014 McDonald’s All American teammates Justise Winslow, Grayson Allen and Jahlil Okafor will head to Duke. EMMANUEL MUDIAY - #0 Height: 6-5 • Weight: 185 Position: Guard • Prime Prep Academy, TX Hometown: Dallas, TX • College: Southern Methodist PPG: 19.5 • RPG: 8 • APG: 5 Mudiay uses his superior athleticism and quickness to beat opponents, consistently burying shots coming off ball screens. He has great floor vision, using it to distribute the ball to his teammates in transition and in half-court sets. He’s also developed a solid midrange game and can hit step-back jumpers regularly. Mudiay plans to attend SMU in the fall and will play under head coach, Larry Brown. With his commitment, Mudiay is the school’s second straight McDonald’s All American after 2013 McDonald’s All American, Keith Frazier. JAHLIL OKAFOR - #22 Height: 7-0 • Weight: 270 Position: Center • Whitney Young Magnet High School, IL Hometown: Chicago, IL • College: Duke PPG: 25 • RPG: 14 • BPG: 3 Okafor has great height and strength, making him a force in the low post. He uses his athleticism to outmatch opponents, with footwork that allows him to gain positioning and easily grab rebounds on both sides of the floor. He’s a proven defender who can alter opponents’ shots while keeping them out of the lane. He is one of four McDonald’s All Americans planning to attend Duke in the fall. MYLES TURNER - #35 Height: 7-0 • Weight: 230 Position: Forward/Center • Trinity High School, TX Hometown: Bedford, TX • College: Undecided PPG: 20 • RPG: 13 • BPG: 7 A very productive center, Turner uses his great height, wingspan and athleticism to his advantage on both ends of the court. He’s a well- polished post player and has a superb touch on post moves. Turner is also a tremendous defensive disrupter, blocking shots and defending the lane from opponents. Turner is one of five 2014 McDonald’s All Americans hailing from the state of Texas. He remains undecided on his college selection, still*considering Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Ohio State and Texas. .
