Seniors Micah Potter (Ohio State signee) and 6-3 4 KEVIN CHAM 6’1” SR G Howard Washington (Butler) have guided the Eagles through a rigorous schedule. Washington is a true point guard with a 5 ROWAN “RJ” BARRETT 6’6” FR G high basketball IQ and playmaking skills. At 6-9 Potter is one of the team’s most improved players and has all the traits of an 11 MARCUS CARR 6’2” SO G emerging power forward. At 6-10, senior Bruno Fernando (#70 in the ESPN 100) is a strong, physical post player that runs the 12 JUSTIN KAYE 6’1” SR G floor well. The sophomore class is well represented with major contributors: 6-8 Silvio De Sousa (#2 in the ESPN 25), 6-10 E.J. 15 JOSUE PONCE ARROYO 6’0” SR G Montgomery (#3 in the ESPN 25) and 6-9 Simi Shittu (#13 in the ESPN 25). Montgomery might have the most upside from the 21 BRUNO FERNANDO 6’9” SR F Class of 2018, possessing an innate feel for the game and all the physical tools near the rim. Silvio De Souza, from Angola, 22 SILVIO DESOUSA 6’8” SO F left a tremendous impression at the FIBA World Championships 23 EJ MONTGOMERY 6’10” SO F in Dubai with his mix of power and finesse. 24 AMANI HARRIS 6’1” FR G ROAD TO THE DICK’S NATIONALS The three-time defending DICK’S Nationals champions are battle 30 FELIX LEMETTI 6’0” JR F tested, playing one of the nation’s most aggressive schedules. In December, the Eagles (25-1) suffered their only loss to No. 31 SIMISOLA SHITTU 6’8” SO F 1-ranked Chino Hills (CA), 83-82, at the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, FL. Now for the guard-heavy junior class: 6-2 Matt Coleman (#21 in the ESPN 60), 6-4 Ty-Shon Alexander (#44 in the ESPN60), 6-2 5 LINDELL WIGGINTON 6’2” JR PG Lindell Wigginton (#50 in the ESPN 60) and 6-2 Devontae Shuler. Coach Steve Smith opts for a three-guard attack with Coleman, Wigginton and 20 DEVONTAE SHULER 6’2” JR G Alexander and the long Sy and bouncy Key up front. Sy’s long reach is 21 TY-SHON ALEXANDER 6’4” JR SG a shot deterrent. Kegler possesses a feathery touch from the outside and has an improved mid-range game. With all this talent, can you imagine if 6-11 Harry Giles, the nation’s No. 1 recruit and Duke signee, didn’t suffer a knee injury in 33 KENNY NWUBA 6’9” SOPH C November? Giles subsequently left Oak Hill, returning home to attend 42 RODNEY MILLER 7’0” SR C school and rehab in North Carolina. ROAD TO THE DICK’S NATIONALS In the last two years, the Warriors (42-1) are a combined 89-1 heading HEAD COACH: STEVE SMITH into DICK’S Nationals, an event championship that has eluded this storied program. The Warriors’ lone blemish was a 70-67 stunner to 22 Feet Academy (SC) on November 14. That did not deter the Warriors who went on to bag big-time tournament titles: Chick-fil-a Classic in South Carolina,, Les Schwab Invitational in Oregon and Bass Pro Invitational in Missouri. They also have quality wins over DeMatha (MD), Chaminade (MO), Hamilton Heights Christian (TN), Rainier Beach (WA), Huntington Prep (WV), West Linn (OR), Sierra Canyon (CA), Mater Dei (CA) and Mountain Mission (VA).
