Students Attend "Dark Nights of the Soul" Talk at FBI Headquarters

On February 1, 2020, almost two dozen students from the Forensic Psychology program and Dr. Lopez attended a talk at the FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. Entitled "Dark Nights of the Soul: 20 Years After Columbine," the event featured Mr. John McDonald, Executive Director of Security for Jefferson County schools, and Deputy Chief A.J. DeAndrea, Arvada Colorado Police Department. They reflected on their own experiences following the Columbine High School shooting, as well as the impact of such events on communities and those in enforcement.

Class Notes Class of 2019-20

Allyson Miller will begin work as an Analyst with Deloitte's forensic practice in July 2020. Kara Adams will begin the PsyD in program at George Washington University's Professional Psychology Program in the fall. Samantha Allen is starting a position as an 1811 Criminal Investigator/Special Agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). Weston Phillips is an Analyst for DHS ICE's Homeland Security Investigations Visa Security Program. He also completed a Forensic Account certificate program at George Mason University.

Class of 2018 Sunny Bloomberg is employed as a Forensic Interviewer at Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center. Molly Ellenberg will begin the PhD in program at the University of Maryland in the fall.

Class of 2014 Mimi Yorks graduated in 2019 with a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University’s Professional Psychology Program. She is currently a clinical at the Martinsburg Veteran Affairs Medical Center. She is also the Evidence Based Treatment Coordinator at the facility.
