It is Friday Youth Academy Squad Training expected that all Knights Squad Members (U/15, U/16 20th March @ La Trobe University 5:00pm & U/18) enter the tipping comp. On Monday 16 th March the Northern Knights held their Season Launch and Guernsey Presentation Night, with a crowd of over 150 people filling “The Grandstand” Function Room at Preston City Oval. Hosted by Talent Manager, Peter Kennedy, the Knights announced their Squad for 2015 and each player was invited up on stage to receive their playing jumper. The Player List for 2015 has 45 players made up of 7 19yr old, 22 U/18’s and 16 U/17 Players.

The Club was pleased to welcome back former players and recent draftees: , Kane Lambert, Reece McKenzie & (Richmond) to present the Squad with their jumpers and share their experiences in the AFL environment so far. We were also lucky to hear from Special Guest Leigh Adams of the North Football Club who was interviewed by our Head Coach Andrew Shakespeare.

The Knights were pleased to have Mark Galea, Managing Director of our Major Sponsor Technika Pty Ltd, in atten- dance and Mark and the Technika Company were recognised for their on-going financial support of football in the Northern Region and the Northern Knights Football Club, as they entered the 5 th year of their partnership.

The Northern Knights Head Coach Andrew Shakespeare, announced the Knights Captain, Vice Captains and Leader- ship Group for Season 2015: Captain: Jade Gresham Vice Captains: Luke Bunker, Brayden Fiorini, Darcy Macpherson, Michael Mattingly & Matt Perry.

Shakespeare, also gave his thoughts on the Squad’s Pre-Season which started in November 2014 with an four week block of training prior to Christmas, includ- ing a Training Camp at Camp Wyuna, Queenscliff. The Knights returned in mid-January for another 4 week block of training, before commencing Practice Matches along with TAC Cup Fitness Testing Day that was held on the Labour Day long weekend. He fin- ished his address by stressing the importance of con- tinual improvement in all areas, as the Northern Knights enter their 24 th TAC Cup Season.
