EMILY BROWNING Emily Browning is one of Australia’s most internationally acclaimed actresses. She currently plays Laura Moon in the Starz series adaption of American Gods, based on the 2001 best-selling and award-winning fantasy novel by Neil Gaiman. She also plays Sierra in The Affair, a multi-award- winning series from Showtime. Her recent international film work includes Legend, opposite Tom Hardy, for director Brian Helgeland; Golden Exits, for director Alex Ross Perry, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival; The Shangri-La Suite, directed by Eddie O’Keefe; God Help the Girl, directed and written by Belle and Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch, which premiered in competition at Sundance; the action drama Pompeii, opposite Kit Harington; and the psychological thriller Plush, directed by Catherine Hardwicke. Emily is a talented songstress, having sung for several roles including those in Plush and God Help the Girl. Other film credits include Sucker Punch, from director Zack Snyder, Sebastian Silva’s Magic, Magic, opposite Michael Cera; Summer in February; The Uninvited for DreamWorks; and the Australian film Sleeping Beauty, in which she played the lead. Sleeping Beauty, the directorial debut of Julia Leigh, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in Official Selection. Emily’s breakthrough role came at only 14-years-old when she was cast opposite Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep in the feature Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events for Paramount/DreamWorks. This role saw her honoured with an Australian Film Institute Award (AFI) for International Best Actress. CAST BIOGRAPHIES Season 2 RICKY WHITTLE (SHADOW MOON) Ricky Whittle was born in Oldham, near Manchester in the north of England. Growing up, Whittle excelled in various sports representing his country at youth level in football, rugby, American football and athletics. After being scouted by both Arsenal and Celtic Football Clubs, injuries forced him to pursue a law degree at Southampton University. It was here he began modeling, becoming the face of a Reebok campaign in 2000. Whittle left university to pursue an acting career and soon joined several action-packed seasons as bad boy Ryan Naysmith in Sky One’s “Dream Team.” Following that, Whittle quickly joined the U.K.’s hugely popular long-running drama, “Hollyoaks,” in which he played rookie cop Calvin Valentine to acclaim across 400+ episodes. In 2010, Whittle made the decision to relocate to California and, within months of settling in, booked the role of Captain George East in the romantic-comedy feature Austenland for Sony Pictures, which was produced by Twilight creator Stephanie Meyer. Additionally, he was soon cast in a major recurring role in VH1’s popular series, “Single Ladies.” Another major recurring role followed on The CW’s popular post-apocalyptic sci-fi series “The 100.” Whittle’s character, Lincoln, immediately became a fan-favorite character, so he was upped to a series regular. Revenue is also the most important and intuitionistic feedback to producers, directors and actors. Therefore it is worth for us to put effort on analyzing what factors correlate to revenue, so that producers, directors and actors know how to get higher revenue on next movie by focusing on most correlated factors. Our project focuses on anaylzing all kinds of factors that correlated to revenue, for example, genres, elements in the movie, popularity, release month, runtime, vote average, vote count on website and cast etc. After analysis, we can clearly know what are the crucial factors to a movie's revenue and our analysis can be used as a guide for people shooting movies who want to earn higher renveue for their next movie. They can focus on those most correlated factors, for example, shooting specific genre and hire some actors who have higher average revenue.
