MARCH 3-6, 2014 Welcome Welcome to the 3rd annual Eastern Winery Exposition (EWE). Over the next three days, my goal is to exceed your expectations. EWE generates an atmosphere where you can follow your dreams to establish a winery, grow your vineyard, or expand upon winemaking and marketing skills. So while you are here, foster new ideas, find new or improved products, meet new friends, and develop lasting rela- tionships. This is all part of the experience! We are pleased to announce that the American Society for Enology and Viti- culture-Eastern Section (ASEV-ES), in conjunction with EWE will conduct a live auction as a scholarship fundraiser right here during the show. The live auction is one of the main fundraisers the ASEV-ES conducts in order to provide scholar- ships for students seeking a career in enology and viticulture. The auction will be held in conjunction with the Industry Celebration Dinner on March 4. The auction begins at 8:30 pm and all are welcome to join (no entrance fee). Come have some fun and support the future talent of our industry! I’d like to thank the associations and organizations noted on page 21 for their ongoing support of EWE. Also, a big shout-out to our show sponsor Wines & Vines, our conference sponsor Practical POS, as well as our supporting sponsors Wine & Grape Grower, Wine Business Monthly and Grapevine Magazine. And thanks to you for making the trip to Lancaster. This event would not have come to fruition without Conference Manager Rich- ard Leahy’s expertise, hard work and conscientious efforts. As well as the superb work of Operations Director, Marcia Gulino. If you get the chance, please say hello to Richard, Marcia or me, and do let us know if there is anything we can do to make this experience even better for you! After all, this is your event and we value your feedback. Following the show you will be sent a notice to complete a survey. Please take a few moments to share your thoughts about your time at EWE. We will use those results to help us provide you with an improved event in 2015, scheduled for March 17-20 at the Oncenter in Syracuse, NY. The 2016 event will return to Lancaster March 8-11, 2016. Enjoy the show!
