REPORT There were three proposed colloquia: ‘Urban Classroom Erik Schleef Culture and Interaction’, ‘The Emergence of Corpus University of Edinburgh Sign Language Linguistics’ and ‘UK Linguistic 27/10/07 Ethnography Forum SIG’. There were four SIG Tracks: ‘Assessment’, ‘Corpus Linguistics’, ‘Language BAAL 2007 Edinburgh (6–8 September) Learning and Teaching’, and ‘Multimodality’. The conference theme of BAAL 2007 was ‘Applied th Linguistics Renewed: Technology, Ideology and The Edinburgh Applied Linguistics 50 anniversary Practice’. Over half the delegates rated the programme, and the balance of SIG tracks and colloquia with individual papers ‘very good’. The ratio of track/colloquia
