GAD-B(A)1-2/20 13-1[1 (Shimla) Dated 2..1 -6-20 17 as required under clause (3) of article 348 of the Constitution of India) t Government of Himachal Pradesh General Administration Department Section-B GAD-B(A) l-2/20 13-III (Shimla) Dated Shimla-2. the :L /- 6 -2017 NOTIFICATION WHEREAS, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh is of the opinion that it has become necessary to exclude two Patwar Circles arkanda and Jadun from ub­ Tehsil Kotgarh and to include in Tehsil Kumarsain , District Shim la, Himachal Pradc h: NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Himachal Pradesh Land Revenue Act 1954 (Act 6 of 1954) and section 5 of the Registration Act, 1908 (Act No. 16 of 1908), the Governor of Himachal Pradesh is pleased to order that the Patwar Circles, Narkanda and Jadun be excluded from the Sub­ Tehsil Kotgarh and be included in Tehsil Kumarsain of District Shimla, Himachal Pradesh with immediate effect. Parmar, University of Abstract Horticulture and Forestry, The climatic changes with respect to rise in temperature, erratic precipitation and lack of chilling hours Nauni, Solan, India have affected the hill horticultural production system adversely. A study was conducted to identify the climatic suitability for optimum production of major temperate fruit crops in high and mid hills of Himachal Pradesh. Using Geographical Information System (GIS), the suitability analyses were performed with digital processing of geo-referenced data on topography, climate, soil and land cover. The potential production areas for each crop were identified by ArcGIS spatial analyst. The study revealed that the higher reaches such as Manali, Bhang, Naggar and Raisan in Kullu; Kotgarh, Jubbal, Kumarsain, Chopal and Rohru of Shimla and Kinnaur district covering Sangla, Kalpa, Sharbo and Pooh were highly suitable for growing apple. Whereas, the areas comprising of Bajaura and Bhuntar in Kullu; Karsog, Nagwain and Jhanjheli in Mandi; Theog area in lower parts of Shimla district were moderately suitable for apple cultivation. The suitability map for sub temperate fruit crops indicated that Kandaghat, Kunihar and Dharampur in Solan and Rajgarh area of Sirmaur district were highly suitable for peach, plum and apricot. However, Nalagarh in Solan and Rohru in Shimla district have become marginally suitable zones for sub temperate fruit crops.

Introduction Apple (Maluspumila) is commercially the most important temperate fruit and is the fourth produced in the world after banana, orange and grape. About 70 million tons of apples were grown worldwide in 2013, and China produced almost half of this total. The United States is the second-leading producer with more than 6% of world production. Turkey is the third largest producer, followed by Italy, India and Poland. The area under apple cultivation in India increased by 24% from 1.95 lakh hectors. In 1991-92 to 2.42 lakh hectors. In 2001-02, although production increased by less than 1% (i.e. from 11 to 12 lakh tones). It is mostly grown in the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Apple belt of the Himachal is the most important crop, accounting for about 90% of the total horticultural production. Study area Himachal Pradesh is one of the ideal locations for apple cultivation, covering the districts of Shimla, Siramour, Kullu, Mandi, Chamba and Kinnaur considering the vast production of apple orchards. The much- awaited delicious variety of apples from Himachal Pradesh's Kalpa (Kinnaur district) where horticulture is considered as a major livelihood source, most of all the households are involved in horticulture activity.

It is the most desirable state for mountain tourism for domestic as well as foreign travellers. Himachal Pradesh is a relatively new establishment, but the history of the lands it comprises goes back to ancient times. The main objective of this paper is to study the historical perspective of tourism in Himachal Pradesh from the Mughal period to the modern period with a narrative approach.
