The Potteries-based club have undoubtedly been the best team, but once again didn’t have everything their own way as they wrapped up the title. However, despite posting a target of just two runs per over, Porthill’s bowlers took early wickets and never relinquished their grip. Amongst some impressive bowling figures Philippa Dagger’s outstanding season for Upton continued; and Becky Cripwell conceded just two runs in her six overs, having also held the Porthill innings together earlier, and she is a strong contender for the league’s best all-rounder of the season.
