PORTHMADOG FOOTBALL CLUB PLAYER PEN-PICS GARETH PARRY - Player / Manager Appointed Manager After the Sudden Departure of Tomi Morgan to Carmarthen in June 2010 PORTHMADOG FOOTBALL CLUB PLAYER PEN-PICS GARETH PARRY - Player / Manager Appointed manager after the sudden departure of Tomi Morgan to Carmarthen in June 2010. He had filled in for Morgan in three matches in the North Wales Coast Challenge Cup at the end of the season, leading the club to their ? success in the competition. Appointed to the job at the age of only 29 years and 5 months he was one of the youngest managers in the club’s history. Has made 156 Welsh Premier League appearances, all but 3 for Porthmadog and scored 22 goals. Currently working for his A Licence and returning from injury. CAMPBELL HARRISON – Assistant Manager Former Porthmadog player and coach who enjoyed considerable success at Holyhead before his surprise resignation at the beginning of 2009/10 and has been out of football since. He was regular in the Port promotion team of 2002/03 and made 28 (+20) WPL appearances for the club. He also played for Cemaes Bay in the WPL. RICHARD HARVEY - Goalkeeper DoB: 20/6/1978 Dogged by injury last term, but came back towards the end of the campaign. Consistency is a significant feature of his game. He was an ever present during the 2008-09 season. Joined from from Cymru Alliance club, Llangefni. He was previously with Port as a young player and also appeared briefly for them in the Cymru Alliance in 2002-03. EURON ROBERTS - Defender DoB: 18/11/85 Defender who trained with the Wolves academy as a youngster, appearing for his hometown club Blaenau Amateurs and for Llanfairpwell in the Cymru Alliance whilst a student at Coleg Menai, before joining Porthmadog in August 2009. Was a revelation in the Porthmadog defence last term in the Welsh Premier. GERAINT MITCHELL Defender DoB: 14/10/85 Capable defender who can play right back or centre half. Had two years at Llangefni winning the Cymru Alliance title with them before returing to Porthmadog for a second spell. MIKE FOSTER Defender DoB: 24/9/73 A former Tranmere trainee, rejoined Porthmadog midway through the 2001/2 season from Bangor City having also played for Aberystwyth Town. A Welsh Under-21 cap, he spent 13 seasons at The Traeth, making a club record 346 appearances, before leaving in July 2009 to join Holyhead Hotspur. But, after making just three appearances for the Cymru Alliance outfit he returned to the Traeth the following month RYAN DAVIES Defender DoB: 31/12/1978 Ryan is club captain and a vital part of the defence. Joined Portmadog for the second time during the 2003/4 season from Glantraeth. His brother Les Davies also used to play for Porthmadog, before moving back to Bangor City. Gifted in possession and comanding on the floor and in the air. Was out with a broken foot for most of last season. Proved his worth coming back at the tail end of the season. GARETH OWEN – Defender DoB: 06/05/80 Made six WPL appearances for Port in 2008. A tough tackling ‘old fashioned’ centre half . With games likely to be a bit more “physical” in the Cymru Alliance, his presence at the back will be of significant value to the team. Gareth has been one of the most consistent performers in the Cymru Alliance over the past few seasons, acknowledged by him making the “CA Team of the Season” for the last 4 consecutive seasons.” DAN PYRS Midfield DoB: 21/10/84 Made appearances for Caernarfon as a youngster, joining Porthmadog in August 2009 from Llanrug United. Proved a good acquisition becoming a pivotal part of the Port midfield and making 28 appearances last season, scoring only once. JACK JONES - Midfield DoB: 12/10/90 Porthmadog-born midfielder who joined his hometown club in the summer of 2009 after playing for Wrexham in the Youth Alliance. Dogged and resilient performer who will become an important player this term BARRY EVANS Midfield/Defence DoB: 17/11/86 Versatile left sided player who has returned to Porthmadog after a spell with his home town club, Pwllheli. JAMIE McDAID Winger DoB: 29/03/94 Exceptionally talented young player who was made the leap from Porthmadog Academy straight into the first team squad. Tricky and quick he can cause problems to all defenders. RICHIE OWEN – Utility DoB: 01/09/80 Experienced left sided defender well known to Porthmadog supporters, returns for his fourth stint with the club having first joined in 2002. Richie has made 129 (+27) career WPL appearances for Port, Bangor and Caernarfon. Probably the most versatile of all squad members and this could prove vital. He is a solid “no-frills” player who can be depended on to produce consistent performances. DARREN JONES – Midfield/Defence DoB: 26/08/78 Affectionately know as “Chicken” he’s a solid skilful left sided defender, a former Manchester City apprentice who played for Bangor in the UEFA Cup against Startid in Yugoslavia in 2003. Committed and combative player who has a never say die attitude which will be welcomed at the club. He is sure to become a fans favourite, as well as an important figure in the changing room.” JONATHAN SADLER – Midfield DoB: 30/01/85 Brother of former Traeth favourite Jason, skilful left sided player and a good crosser of the ball and a good eye for goal. Signed this season. CRAIG ROBERTS - Forward DoB: 13/07/83 Tall pacy striker who also has WPL experience with Bangor making 9 (+21) appearances 2000-03. Craig has been a transfer target of previous managers at the club and Gareth is delighted to finally have secured his signature. Equally comfortable as a striker, centre mid or out wide, all of the qualities Gareth and Campbell are looking for to complement the squad from last season. CAI JONES Forward DoB: 03/10/92 Prolific scorer for Porthmadog Reserves. Talented young striker who has come through the Academy structure at the club. Made a few substitute appearances at the tail end of the 2008-9 season. Last season saw him breakthrough into the first team squad gaining his full debut in the home defeat to Rhyl in February. Strong and skilful and a real eye for goal he could be a real force for us this season MARCUS ORLIK – Forward DoB: 11/02/85 Joined from Rhyl in January 2007, scoring 9 times for Porthmadog from midfield in 2007/08. Marcus can play in midfield or up front. He switched from Caernarfon to Rhyl in the summer of 2006 after spending two seasons with the Oval club but his opportunities on the Belle Vue were limited. A very dangerous player from dead ball situations around the box. After breaking his metatarsal on two separate occasions during the 2008/09 season, he spent a short spell with Llangefni Town in order to regain his fitness before returning at the start of January 2010 transfer window. IWAN WILLIAMS – Midfield/Forward DoB: 28/03/85 Another former Porthmadog player who has returned to the club this season. Had a spell with Newtown in the Welsh Premier before joining Llanfairpwll and becoming their leading scorer last season with 18 goals. PAUL ROBERTS – Forward DoB: 29/07/77 The Wales U-21 cap returns to the Traeth for a fifth spell at the club where he started his career before leaving to join Wrexham for a five figure fee in 1996. He was released by Newtown at the end of August 2010 and now returns to Port, the club he last left in January 2010. He was recruited by Darren Ryan as part of the mid-Wales club’s battle to retain WPL status. During his brief spell at Newtown he scored 8 goals in 19 appearances. He is a proven goalscorer, especially during his time at Bangor, and is 7th on the WPL scoring list with a career record of 147 goals in 288 (+59) appearances. .

TT1112-98 TT No.98: Justin Holmes - Sunday 13th November 2011; Rhyl v Porthmadog; Cymru Alliance; Venue: Belle Vue, Rhyl; Score: 0-0; Admn: £6.00; Prog: £2.00; Att: 402; Match Rating: 3. The final game on my long weekend stay in Colwyn Bay would be on my way home. The original plan was to take in the Welsh Premiership game between Airbus UK Broughton and Afan Lido. This would not have been ideal, having to rely on Sunday buses to get to and from the ground from Chester, and happily various quirks of fate ensured that the Porthmadog v Rhyl was reversed at late notice, providing a much easier game in take in on my way home, to see two former Welsh Premiership clubs with strong ambitions to return (not always the case in Wales) in "sunny Rhyl". The Belle Vue ground is located about 15 minutes from Rhyl town centre, slightly less from the train station and has quite an impressive and large fascia to the ground. One inside, the ground is almost completely all-seater. Behind the goal where one enters the ground is uncovered seating, with the "Legends Lounge" portacabin type building perched above. Behind the other goal is an all-seater stand. Spanning one length of the pitch is the largest all-seater stand in the ground, whereas on the other side is another all-seater stand, with the only standing areas in the ground either side of it. Unfortunately, all of the covered stands have many supporting pillars to obstruct one's view.

Eryri Local Development Plan Background Paper 21 Zones of Influence May 2017 Background Paper 21: Zones of Influence – May 2017 Introduction The Authority has identified eight ‘Zones of influence’ which are within and straddle the National Park. These areas have similar characteristics and have strong community links. The work on the Zones of Influence draws on a wide range of surveys and related national, regional and local plans and strategies discussed in the Spatial Development Strategy Background Paper. The paper identifies key centres within each zone of influence and recognises the influences of key centres outside the Park to inform the Spatial Development Strategy. The paper identifies key transport routes, key employment areas, and further education and key services for each zone. The paper discusses the main issues for each zone individually, the implications for the Local Development Plan and how the issues are addressed in the Plan. 2 Background Paper 21: Zones of Influence – May 2017 1.1. TT1112-40 TT No.40: Andy Gallon - Sat 10th September 2011; Penycae v Flint Town United; Cymru Alliance; Res: 2-4; Att: 56 (h/c); Admission: £3; Programme: £1 (28pp); FGIF Match Rating: *****. We took a chance on both game and ground, and got lucky. Afoneitha Road proved to be a picturesque enclosure, while the match, featuring four goals in a helter- skelter last nine minutes, was a belter. At kick-off, Penycae had suffered five straight defeats since returning to the Cymru Alliance, scoring one goal and conceding 26 in the process. Nonetheless, Flint's officials were wary because the hosts had brought in the experienced Simon Sedgwick as manager. Sedgwick had an immediate impact - in more ways than one. His dog slipped its moorings just before the teams took the field, and efforts to catch it delayed the start by five minutes. My girlfriend came to the rescue by offering her chocolate bar as bait. With Fido unceremoniously removed, the action could begin. Recently, Penycae agreed a lease with the local authority, and emboldened by this security, have made major improvements to their ground. Hardstanding has been laid around most of the pitch, and the dressing rooms, in a separate pavilion, refurbished. The ground is on the edge of the village, one of many former industrial centres in the Wrexham area, and tucked away down an unmade lane. The pavilion, better suited to cricket than football, is next to a small car park. Two adjacent portable buildings house a kitchen, complete with singing chef, and a hospitality area.

Background Paper 13: Community Infrastructure 13 February Gwynedd & Môn Joint Local Development Plan 2015 [Type text] Topic Paper 13: Infrastructure Background This is one of a range of topic papers prepared to offer more detailed information and explain the approach of the Plan to different topics and issues affecting the Joint Local Development Plan Area. This paper will look specifically at community infrastructure. It will explain the background which will help to identify the issues, objectives and options for the Deposit Plan. The Deposit Plan is the second statutory stage in the preparation of the Joint Local Development Plan (JLDP). The JLDP shapes the future growth of communities in the Joint Local Development Plan Area and will set out the policies and land allocations against which planning applications will be assessed. The Deposit Plan will be submitted to the Welsh Government, which will appoint an independent inspector to assess the soundness of the Plan in the Examination in Public. If the inspector considers the Plan to be sound it will be recommended for adoption. When adopted the JLDP will supersede the Gwynedd Unitary Development Plan (2009) for the Gwynedd Local Planning Authority Area and the Gwynedd Structure Plan (1993) and Ynys Môn Local Plan (1996) for the Ynys Môn Local Planning Authority. This topic paper can be read in isolation or in conjunction with the other Topic Papers and Background Papers that have been prepared to give a full picture the Joint Local Development Plan Area. You may refer to the Topic Paper as a basis for making comments about the Deposit Plan.
