CYCLING FOR CARE 500KM COMPLETED IN A MONTH

n May 2020, Lisa Ashton completed a 500km road Icycling challenge to raise money for St Barnabas Hospice in memory of her dad, Brian Waterall. Brian was age 66 when he was diagnosed with kidney cancer and he sadly died in May 2016, just six months later. In total, we raised an amazing £1,540 from our birthday celebrations.

A GENEROUS GIFT LOTTERY WINNER DONATES MONEY BACK

rs R joined the St Barnabas Hospice MLottery in June 2012, shortly after her husband, Barry, died age 79. Last May, she received a phone call from our Lottery team to let her know that she was the lucky winner of our £2,500 rollover prize! e would like to say “cheers” to Wall the wonderful supporters who purchased our limited-edition gin made in partnership with Bottomley Distillers, the creators of Pin Gin, last year. Our gin, Est. 1982 Bramble, featured notes of blackberry and cherry and all profits from each bottle (£14) went directly to the Hospice. In total, an incredible 330 bottles were sold, generating £4,623.88 for the Hospice! Because this partnership was so successful, we are delighted to be working with Bottomley Distillers once again this year and are currently working on a new flavour. More information will be announced on this in due course. In other gin-related plans, our popular Gin and Jammies will take place once again this year and we hope to have something special for local businesses to get involved with too.

IN MEMORY OF MARGARET NORTON

argaret Norton Margaret’s final wish was spent the last 25 to die in our Hospice, just Myears volunteering like her husband had done in our Hospice, helping our several years ago.
