Last week, I had the opportunity to speak to the Delta Grassroots Caucus at their meeting in West Memphis, Arkansas. It was encouraging to see so many people gathered together to support the Mis- sissippi River Delta region. As Co-Chairman of the Mississippi River Delta Congressional Caucus and as a past President of the Mississippi Valley Flood Control Association, I have long been involved with Mike fighting for the Delta. The past few years have Ross been particularly hard on United States the Delta region. In times Congressman like these, it’s critical for government, business and community leaders to come together and work to rebuild our neighbor- hoods and communities. These coalitions of lead- ers must also continue working together in recovery efforts to secure a brighter future for communities and families throughout the Delta region. Now, more than ever, our country must refocus its attention back to the middle class and working families if we are ever going to get this economy go- ing again. This is how we help the Delta grow. And, this is how we get America moving again. My num- ber one priority is and has always been keeping jobs in this country and putting hard-working Americans back to work. We must do everything we can to continue our economic recovery. From the hills of Missouri, the Harpers are a family group that shares their music and faith in a bluegrass style. Gaylon and Katrina met a bluegrass festival where they were each per- forming, Gaylon with the Bressler Brothers and Katrina with her family, The Bob Lewis Fam- ily. In need of a banjo picker, the Lewises hired Gaylon. Within a year, Gaylon and Katrina were married. The two began a family of their own and had three talented children. A vibrant young man, Dalton is fun loving and enjoys people. Now 19 years old, Dalton is the guitar player, sings lead and harmony, writes songs for the group, and takes care of all scheduled bookings. The greatest thing Dalton adds to the group is his straight forward approach to his faith. His life shows it’s not what you say, it’s how you live that demonstrates in whom you trust.
