Prepare for an evening where the “fun” in fundraising will permeate the atmosphere. Remember your generosity and support will enable the PTA to provide many meaningful programs and experiences for the children. The success of last year’s fundraiser enabled our PTA to sponsor programs such as visits from a visual artist, the Bio Bus, STEAM Day, a chef who prepared dishes with children using produce harvested from the school garden as well as grade grants to our teachers for special programming to complement grade level curricula. This wonderful fundraising event supports additional learning through class trips and instructional supplies for classrooms. Your support and enthusiastic participation in this event is greatly appreciated and is part of the tradition that makes Greenacres the very special learning community it is. Our auction committee has assembled an incredible assortment of items and packages, which we hope you will find irresistibly enticing. Enjoy the evening chatting, munching, sipping, browsing and of course bidding. Thank you for coming out to lend your support for our wonderful school. It will be time and dollars well spent, knowing that ultimately the children are the benefactors of your efforts. BID WITH ABANDON! Sharon Hill Isabel Anne Fineogld Principal, Greenacres School PTA President 5 FROM THE 2014 FALL FUNDRAISER CHAIR The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention. ~Oscar Wilde It has been said time and again but Greenacres is a special school and a wonderful place to live. I have been a part of the school since 2008 and simply had no idea how much good the monies raised at the Fall Fundraiser brought to the school. Because of the generous community in which we live, our children have been able to be exposed to art, culture, science, environmentalism, nature, artists and authors. The parents, teachers and staff at Greenacres are beyond special. Everyone pitches in to make this the best place possible for parents and children. But, the real success of the auction is shown when it is all over and based on the total amount raised. There are many activities for parents and kids, birthday parties, camps, sports tickets and adult fun to bid on. So, bid with abandon and allow our children the opportunities to further enrich their education. Thank you to everyone who helped work on this event and thank YOU to all you parents who are bidding and raising money for our school. 6 THANK YOU FOR HOURS AND HOURS OF HELP Lynn Marvin - for being the wall stopping me from jumping off the ledge Erika Rublin and May Cowan - for your varied interests in soliciting such unique items Christa Mruz - for stepping up and always helping with the little things that save my sanity Tanya Singer and Midori Im - for the sage advice, experience and contacts Isabel Finegold and Amy Nadasdi - Emails and advertisements extraordinaire Caroline Smyth, Ophira Cukierman, Tammy Fine, Nicola Atherstone, Sharon Higgins, Diane Gurden, Gwynn Hurshman, Dana Matsushita, Jen Gross, Julie Fader, Penny Smith, Jodi Cascade, Melissa Eisenberg, Robert Jeremiah, Pamela Fuehrer - for always helping me with my requests The fantastic Greenacres staff, Resa, Charlie, Artie and Anthony - for their tireless help and support of PTA functions Anyone I forgot, please know that I am more thankful than words could even express anyways.
