Key words : 6 6 maintenance level ,Ad libitum ,Inner Mongolian Cashmere ,Methane ,SF tracer technique( SF ) Introduction Inner Mongolian is a dominating28br0e8e7ding base of C3a8s%hmere goats in China . According to th2e0s0t5atistics yearbook , the population of total Cashmere goats was . million and of the goats are in Inner Mongolia( ) ,which exist on desert grassland with poor biogeocoenosis , where the Ash , crude fiber and lignin contents of pastures is higher than that of other grassland , so the special breed of Cashmere goat was acclimated . Inner Mongolian Cashmere was named the best inartificial fiber and economic value is considerable . So the numbers of Cashmere goats were increasing year by year , but the methane emission of Cashmere goats was still evaluated by models in China and the data of in vivo had not been reported by now . So the obj6ective of this study was to measure methane emission of Cashmere goats on maintenance level and at ad libitum intake using SF tracer gas technique , in order to obtain methane emission exactly to provided datum for programming methane emission list and feasible Mitigation Strategies . Materials and method 8 1 5 30 ± 1 Cashmere goats were . years old and weighed kg( mean SEM ) .The experiment was designed as a randomized complete block with two treatments2,1‐i .e on‐maintenance level and a1t5‐ad libitum intake , with four goats in each 2b0lo%ck individu+al8ly0%. The experiment consisted of a d pre experiment stage and a d experiment stage ; The diets consisted of Alfalfa C15hi%nese Leymus and Licking brick ( containing minerals , and vitamin5s)30, the residu5al30pastures of ad libitum should be more than of total dry matter intake . The diet was offered twice daily at : am and : pm respectively and free to water . Quantities of feed offered and refusals were recorded daily for each animal a6nd Samples of diets and refusals were retained w1e9e9k4ly for determination of DM content . Methane emission was measured by SF trace‐9technique accordin2g0t0o℃Kristen 1Jo2h0n℃son ( 65 )℃ . The concen2tr0at3io6n of methane was d0et0er2mined by Gas Chromatography ( GC A ) , Det ( FID ) , ; Inj , ; Col , ; Standard , . pp6m ; the sample ( . ml) was injected onto the ‐G2C01c4olumn via a dead30v0ol℃ume gas10M0ic℃ro liter 6S0yr℃inge . The con9c7en0tr0ation of SF was d1etermined by Gas Chromatography ( GC ) , Det ( ECD ) , ; Inj , ; Col , ; Standard , . ppt ; the sample ( ml) was injected onto the GC column via a dead volume gas Micro liter Syringe . Results 1 4 Methane emission of Cashmere goats at different dietary nutrient levels showed in table , Daily CH e<m0iss0i5ons per animal was fed Alfalfa /Chinese Leymus pastures were greater at ad libitum in>ta0ke05than on maintenance level ( P . ) , but methane emission expressed<e0ver0y5 kilogram DM I is not significant different ( P . ) and MCR is higher on maintenance level than at ad libitum intake( P . ) .
