With duo NOTD's producing chops and Bea's crystal clear voice, they make up a pop powerhouse that's taken the world (and the radio) by storm. "I Wanna Know" started in the bedroom oF Sam Brandt, one halF oF NOTD. He and Tobias Danielsson started the duo together and worked on songs as they attended high school (They're 17 and 19 years old, respectively). They're best known for their remixes of mega-stars like Ed Sheeran and Rihanna, but when they nished "I Wanna Know," they knew they had something special, so they sent it off to Bea Miller's management. "I remember, within like 40 seconds or less I was like, 'Ok I need to get in the studio tomorrow and record this," laughed Bea. And she's not the only one who liked it immediately- the song has spread like wildre and has quickly become a contender for "Song of the Summer." In the studio, the trio played an acoustic version of their hit, really letting the emotional lyrics shine. They also performed "Like That," Bea Miller's raw and honest song about being treated like crap and ghting to feel ok again. It's rare to see so much young talent in a room, and we can't wait to see what the future holds For Bea and NOTD. It's sure to be bright. Artist Bio Beatrice Annika "Bea" Miller is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She came in ninth place on season two of The X Factor. She is currently signed to Hollywood Records. Her debut EP was released in 2014, and her debut album Not an Apology was released on July 24, 2015. In 2016, she released her single "Yes Girl". In early 2017, she began releasing the EPs chapter One: Blue, chapter Two: Red, and chapter Three: Yellow. Opening artist Bea Miller will take center stage at 7:30 p.m. with R5 at 8:45 p.m. Tickets on sale at www.marylandstatefair.com. “Talk about a great show coming to The Maryland State Fair … this is about as good as it gets when it comes to family-oriented entertainment,” said Andy Cashman, CFE, Maryland State Fair’s general manager. “Our fairgoers will really get two concerts for the price of one with both R5 and Bea Miller performing.” On-line ticket sales began at 4 p.m., Friday, May 1, at www.marylandstatefair.com. A moody pop-rock anthem in the same angsty vein as Tove Lo and Lorde, Miller shows a mature departure of a child star coming into her own. "I had a lot of people in my life telling me what I needed to be doing and what direction I need to be going in. I was just getting really stressed out, and I found myself saying yes to a lot of things that I really didn't want to," the singer says of the inspiration behind the new track. "There's that saying of being a Yes Man, and I was kind of being a Yes Girl." Equipped with a renewed sense of self, "Yes Girl" emerged from empowering songwriting sessions with co-writer Ilsey Huber. "I wrote this song to remind myself that I can stand up for myself and be passionate about things and have an opinion – and that it's not wrong," Miller adds. "I figured out if I put happiness in myself, that, if it comes from myself, I can be happy.
