In many markets, energy policies are being considered to respond to the need to be more energy efficient and reduce emissions driving transformation of the sector. In mature markets such as Australia, ageing thermal generation assets are typically being replaced by different technologies including integrated renewables and energy storage. Operation and resiliency of the transmission and distribution networks will continue to be challenged by the growing levels of variable renewable energy. The impacts from behind the meter, electric transportation and other penetrative technologies also need to be managed and integrated into network operation to ensure and enhance power system stability. Smart grid and microgrid technologies are increasingly being be deployed to manage this impact. Jacobs power consultancy focuses on working with clients to assist in the development and implementation of pathways to a zero carbon future. Jacobs play a leading role helping our clients respond to the demands of the changing market. They regularly advise government, regulatory bodies, investors, developers and utilities. Jacobs developed the underlying model for the Finkel review of the reliability and security of electricity supply. They provide ongoing studies for State Governments assessing the impact of proposed energy market policies, model the benefits of proposed major interconnector transmission projects, support the development of pumped storage and battery storage projects and are working with yjeir clients to deliver the majority of wind and solar CEDA will be tweeting from this projects across Australia. event using #EnergyFuture Join the conversation and follow us Jacobs has been a CEDA member since 2007. on Twitter @ceda_news keynote speaker Audrey Zibelman Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) Twitter: @aazibelman Audrey Zibelman leads AEMO, the independent gas and electricity system and market operator in Australia, an organisation that has primarily responsibility of managing and maintaining energy system security for all Australians.
