Our goal is to create lasting Collins Aerospace change by addressing the underlying causes to problems in the areas of health, education and Vinson Bradley financial stability. This is accomplished through Coastal Alabama Community College a collaborative effort with our community partners and programs designed to address the needs of Grant Brown Baldwin County citizens. This is Baldwin Youth Services accomplished by putting age appropriate Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Alabama books in the hands of children at every well Boy Scouts, Mobile Area Council visit from ages 6 months to 5 years old. In CARE House addition to books, each child receives a Catholic Social Services pre-school sized portion plate and activity Christian Service Center book that promotes healthy eating at their Drug Education Council 18 month check up. This program provides Ecumenical Ministries the ability to introduce the first steps of Fairhope Point Clear Rotary Youth Club literacy and healthy eating to a child from Family Promise their first steps in life. Feeding the Gulf Coast Girl Scouts, Southern Alabama Summer Reading Goodwill of the Gulf Coast Home of Grace for Women In an effort to bridge the literacy gap in summer Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation months, UWBC brings summer reading programs Light of the City to children in youth clubs across the county. We Ruff Wilson Youth Club do this by providing high quality hard back books South Alabama Lawyers Program that children read at summer camp and then South Baldwin Literacy Council take home to keep. The UMPC was formed more than 20 years ago and is a unique program provided by UWBC that enables under-insured and un-insured children in Baldwin County public schools to receive proper medical care. By keeping children healthy, we keep children in the classroom and on a pathway towards success. What happens when you give where you live. 2020 year end results 3,317,248 lbs of food distributed to the hungry · 119,597 summer lunches to children 7,143 meals to homeless families · 7,259 families provided rent, utilities & medical 2,199 nights in homeless shelter ·1,408 calls to crisis hot-line · 1,376 peer helpers 1,252 boy and girl scouts · 1,710 scholastic books provided to preschool children 448 youth in summer camps · 1,578 children received weekend backpacks of food 351 child abuse victims served 183 at risk children paired with positive mentor 121 special needs families provided day services 194 adults in residential rehab 63 intervention stays for troubled youth 98 pro-bono legal cases 222 military families assisted in times of crisis 149 house fire assistance 1,087 domestic violence victims safe shelter 47 school nurses supported Additional programs and funding for 2020 In 2020 Baldwin County has been negatively impacted by both the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Sally. United Way of Baldwin County has been at the forefront of both disasters providing assistance to residents in our community. COVID-19 Response Hurricane Sally Response - Established Community Crisis Fund - Served at the Emergency Operations - Distributed $77,926 (to date) in additional Command Center for crisis response funding to the community to assist with - Deployed volunteers into the community immediate needs (rent, utilities, medical) through the Volunteer Registration Center to individuals and non-profits that were - Worked with partner agencies to distribute financially impacted by COVID-19 immediate needs after the storm (food, supplies etc.) - Distributed more than 5,000 masks, - Established Hurricane Sally Disaster Relief Fund hand sanitizers and thermometers to agencies - Serving as Fiscal Agent for Long Term Recovery - Distributed medical shoes to essential workers that is working to rebuild homes in the community Alex De Tocqueville Society A gift of $10,000 or more Frances Holk-Jones & Carl Jones Gold Feather Silver Feather Bronze Feather A gift of $5,000 to $9,999 A gift of $2,500 to $4,999 A gift of $1,500 to $2,499 William T. & Carol Cleverdon Garrett & Tracie Anderson Bob & Cyndy Purgason Clifton C.
