Space Center Houston First on Rare Tour of Historic 11

Visitors Will Experience Capsules for First and Last Lunar Landings Only at

The command module Columbia is picked up on July 24, 1969 by the USS Hornet, prime recovery ship from the historic lunar landing mission. This Apollo 11 command module, Columbia, will land at Space Center Houston marking the first time people will see both command modules, the Apollo 11 and the when the world premiere of “Destination : The Apollo 11 Mission” opens Oct. 14-March 18, 2018. Space Center Houston is the first of four stops of a new exhibit featuring the Apollo 11 command module, which will leave the Smithsonian for the first time since 1971 on a national tour.
