The Alumni and ex-Teachers cheered throughout the performances with a resounding applause at the end. We organised The Founder Centenary Alumni Dinner. To awaken their memories of schooldays, a special counter of the Alumni’s all-time favourite kadi-chaval, Rajma-Chawal, Aloo Rassa-Puri were specially whipped up. Oh! Mohanty (Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh), H.H. Shrimant Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia (President, Board of Governors) and The Members, Board of Governors. SKVians presented an impressive set of athletic displays including a March past by the senior group of students and a brilliant Karate showcased by the junior group of students. Even the alumni participated in the March past. 5 Top Ranked Girls Boarding School SCINDIA KANYA VIDYALAYA 63rd Founder’s Sports Day 12th October Dance is in the DNA of SKV, and this was apparent on the occasion of the Annual Sports Day. Under the tutelage of Umashanker Dance Safari, SKVians put on two dance items. First was a traditional dance performance entitled Rangilo Rajasthan. The second dance item saw a wave of students come on to the arena to sway, jive and groove to a medley of retro hits, all from the 70’s. The Annual Prize Distribution took place to honour the students who had achieved outstanding results and brought honour to the school. We appreciate all the students who were a part of making the day such a huge success and congratulate all winners and participants. 6 Top Ranked Girls Boarding School SCINDIA KANYA VIDYALAYA Vijaya Raje Scindia Award of Excellence Every year we present the Vijaya Raje Scindia Award of Excellence. This year it was awarded to Dr. Jayshree Periwal, class of 1976, for having brought about revolutionary changes in the education system. Chidsey This ethnography takes place at four of northern India’s most renowned, all-girls’ private boarding schools, established in reference to the British Public Schooling model mainly during the tail ends of colonialism by Indian queens and British memsahibs on the sub-continent. It is a story told from the points of view of founders, administrators, and teachers, but primarily from that of students, based on fieldwork conducted from July 2013 through June 2014. Schools heralded as historic venues of purported upper-caste girls’ emancipation, this study interrogates the legacies of this colonial-nationalist moment by examining how these institutions and their female students engage in newer processes and discourses of class formation and gendered empowerment through schooling. For one, it considers the dichotomous (re)constructions of gendered and classed personhoods enacted through exclusionary modernities, particularly in terms of who gains access to these schools, both physically and through symbolic forms of belonging.     Current Affairs 2020 Current Affairs October 2020 Trial run of India's first hydrogen fuel cell car successfully conducted by CSIR, KPIT The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and KPIT successfully ran trials of India’s first Hydrogen Fuel Cell (HFC) prototype car running on an indigenously developed fuel cell stack at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. The fuel cell is a low temperature PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) type Fuel Cell that operates at 65-75 degree centigrade, which is suitable for vehicular applications. CSIR and KPIT have successfully developed a 10 kWe automotive grade LT-PEMFC fuel cell stack based on CSIR’s know-how. The heart of the PEM fuel cell technology includes the membrane electrode assembly, which is wholly a CSIR knowhow. In 2016, CSIR-NCL and CSIR-CECRI as part of the Industry Originated Project (IOP) category of the New Millennium Indian Technology Leadership Initiative (NMITLI) scheme partnered with KPIT for the development of an automotive grade PEM Fuel Cell technology. Hydrogen Fuel Cell (HFC) technology uses chemical reactions between hydrogen and oxygen (from air) to generate electrical energy, eliminating the use of fossil fuels.
