About Journal of Inclusive Education-BJIE: (Aims & Scopes)

Bangladesh Journal of Inclusive Education (BJIE) is an international double-blind peer- reviewed journal published by Inclusion Initiatives for Special-needs Bangladesh (IISB), , Bangladesh. BJIE aims to offer a regional and international platform to conduct a multidisciplinary strategic dialogue on inclusive education for educationists, teachers, policy makers, researchers and other interested professionals. Articles can be of original empirical research, systematic literature review, book review as well as critical and exploratory essays based on theoretical analysis focusing issues related to inclusive education. Special emphasis will be given on papers addressing inclusive education in developing countries. The journal places particular emphasis on:  Innovations and reforms in theory and practice related to inclusion in developing countries as well as other parts of the world  Challenges in implementing inclusive education in different parts of the world, specifically in developing countries  National/local, regional and International policy and practice  Issues related to equity, accessibility and social inclusion  Information dissemination based on empirical research as well as best practice  Impact of reforms in policy, legislative and practice-models on school systems  Identification of issues/variables that had impact on teacher preparation and teaching- learning approaches for inclusive education  Issues related to curriculum, pedagogy, community-involvement and diverse learners for implementing Inclusive education  Reviews of books, software and other resources related to inclusive education

Articles related to different aspects of inclusive education are required to be of high standard and meet the criteria set by the editorial board for publication in this journal. Academic, professional and research institutions as well as individuals are permitted to print out entire issues for educational and research purposes.

CALL FOR PAPERS BJIE calls for manuscripts to be considered for publication in the first issue (Vol. 1, Issue 1) of the journal, which will be published in December 2012. BJIE management board has applied for ISSN for both print and online versions. The Journal is to be disseminated widely in print and online at national and international levels.

The editorial board and the international review panel of the BJIE will follow a rigorous Double- blind peer review process for selecting articles for publication in the journal. Authors are requested to follow the guidelines available in this web page of BJIE before submission.

Article Selection and Peer-review process The editorial board and the international review panel of the BJIE will follow a rigorous Double- blind peer review process for selecting articles for publication in the journal. First, the editorial board does the initial screening of the manuscript. Then it is sent to two anonymous reviewers by following a double blind peer-review process. After receiving the reviewers’ comments the manuscripts are sent back to the author(s) for further resubmission after revision. Then the editorial board does another round of revision of the whole manuscript before final selection. Authors are requested to follow the guidelines available in this web page of BJIE (www.bjie- bd.org) before submission. Manuscripts should directly be submitted to the Editor, M. Guideline for Authors Manuscript should be in ENGLISH language typewritten in TIMES NEW ROMAN font and DOUBLE SPACED with wide margin on a good quality paper and should not exceed 7,000 words.

On the first page only the title of the paper and the name(s) of the author(s) with designation, contact address including e-mail address should be typed. On the second page the little of the paper and abstract should be presented. Title should be brief and specific. The title should be on page number 1 and not exceed 10 words (50 letters), each manuscript should have an abstract containing substance of the paper and should not exceed 150-200 words. The text/body of the manuscript generally should include (a) Introduction, (b) Methodology, (c) Findings/results, (d) Discussion (e) Recommendation and/or Conclusion. The findings and discussion may be combined.

Two separate forms of Manuscripts must be submitted. ONE will contain the full manuscript with original form. ANOTHER copy will maintain AUTHOR ANONIMITY in full manuscript. Authors are required to get permission if they want to reproduce any figure, table, or extract from the text of another source.

Tables and illustrations should be given inside the manuscript where appropriate. The manuscript must strictly follow the APA (6th) referencing style. Reference at the end of the text should be arranged alphabetically.
