17.2 Present Situation and Outlook of Regional Integration Investments and exports in the North Zone will be largely determined by the degree to which the macro-region is physically and institutionally integrated. At present, it is highly important to facilitate physical integration through the improvement of infrastructure and the transport system of export corridors. Institutional integration, e.g., standardized customs procedures, foreign investment laws, taxation systems, etc., is no less important than physical integration. Such development will widen and strengthen relations among economies of the macro-region and increase the possibility of handling export and import cargo and receiving foreign investment in the North Zone. Enterprises in the zone may also benefit from economies of scale while consumers will enjoy increases in the variety of goods and services available due to an expansion of their market. Cooperation between the private and public sectors and among central and local governments in the macro-region is indispensable for physical and institutional integration. This is because neither the private sector, nor the Chilean or regional governments of the North Zone, can carry out all necessary tasks alone. When the public sector renders support to improve physical and institutional infrastructure, particularly through international and inter-regional cooperation, the private sector’s interest in investing in the macro-region will be significantly increased. This will happen because such a situation will help investors minimize economic and political risks and maximize profits. 17.2.1 Regional Integration Schemes Institutional arrangements that can facilitate trade and investment in the macro-region include a customs union, a common market, a free trade agreement, a free trade zone, etc., but these schemes for regional economic integration are not new in South America. -

The current state of the investigation keeps a conservative and hegemonic idea about the relation between both entities giving us simple explanations about the social complexity, in which the History of San Pedro depends on the existence of Tiwanaku and the social development of a State project. -

Introduction From June 11th to the 16th the UNLP-SEG Student Chapter visited the II Region in northern Chile, where important gold&silver and copper mines are located. The schedule, detailed below, included Antucoya Mine, El Peñón, Mina Guanaco, Mina Mantos de La Luna, and a geologic tour led by Prof. Guillermo Chong, which included the Atacama Salt Flats. The first is a Cu porphyry mine, Peñón is a low sulphidation epithermal Au-Ag deposit whereas Guanaco is a high sulphidation Au- Cu deposit. -

It also includes other important aspects or peculiarities. My line of research has been always linked to the study of the host-parasite interactions. These studies not only have focused on the effects of parasites on the fitness of their hosts and therefore its value as a selective force in nature, but also on the evolutionary strategies of transmission of different species of parasites. Throughout my career I have studied various host-parasite systems in populations of wild animals including mammals, reptiles and mostly birds, as well as their ectoparasites and endoparasites, mainly blood parasites. This has allowed me to obtain an overview about the particularities of different systems under study, which include very different life cycles. The team that I lead has always been characterized by used experimental approaches for the study of the host-parasite relationship in wild populations. We have been pioneers in the study of some variables of interest in these populations, such as heat stress proteins as parasitic stress indicators, and we have been pioneers in experimental studies of parasite load modification in blood parasites in wild populations. -

Iquique y Alto Hospicio se mantienen en Pica y Pozo Almonte retroceden a Fase 2cuarentena El aumento de casos positivos registrados en la región los últimos días, totalizando a la fecha 1.100 pacientes activos de Covid 19, obligaron a las autoridades sanitarias del país hacer retroceder a Fase 2 del Plan Paso a Paso a las comunas de Pica y Pozo Almonte. La medida que afecta a la capital del Tamarugal y al oasis turístico, fue anunciada por la Subsecretaria Paula Daza y comienza a regir a las 5 de la madrugada de este jueves 14, obligando a los residentes de ambas comunas a mantener cuarentena los sábados, domingos y festivos. El alcalde de Pozo Almonte Richard Godoy, coordinó la presencia de la PDI, Departamento de Migraciones y Policía Internacional para fiscalizar a inmigrantes que llegan a la comuna. Ayer se hizo el operativo con el fin de comprobar situación migratoria y sanitaria, a fin de evitar nuevos brotes de Covid. Ayer en el informe Covid se dio cuenta de 173 nuevos casos positivos en la región de Tarapacá, lo que elevó la cifra total de personas portadoras del virus, y que pueden contagiar a otros ciudadanos, a 1.100. Con eso desde el inicio de la pandemia son 17.511 residentes de las siete comunas los que se han enfermado de Corona Virus. Detallando los indicadores del lunes 11 de enero, se verifica que Iquique tuvo 96 casos, Alto Hospicio 52, Pozo Almonte 16, Pica 6, Huara 1, no hubo positivos en Camiña y Colchane, mientras que dos personas residentes en otras zonas del país también tuvieron PCR positivo durante su paso por Tarapacá. -

Superintendencia de Pensiones informa nómina de acciones que cumplen requisitos para ser consideradas en categorías generales de inversión Santiago, 05 de febrero de 2009.- La Superintendencia de Pensiones emitió la Circular N° 1587, que deroga la Circular N° 1543, relativa a los Parámetros para el cálculo de los límites de inversión de los Fondos de Pensiones y Fondos de Cesantía, la que entrará en vigencia el 10 de febrero de 2009. En la Circular, se publica la nómina de las acciones de sociedades anónimas abiertas nacionales que cumplen con los requisitos definidos por el Régimen de Inversión de los Fondos de Pensiones, para ser consideradas en las categorías generales de inversión. ESTRUCTURA TOPOLÓGICA DEL MERCADO BURSÁTIL DE CHILE, PERÍODO 2009-2013 TOPOLOGIC STRUCTURE OF CHILEAN STOCK MARKET IN 2009-2013 Edinson Edgardo Cornejo Saavedra1 · Carola Andrea Figueroa Floresb Clasificación: Trabajo empírico - investigación Recibido: 25 de Noviembre de 2014 / Aceptado: 27 de Mayo de 2015 Resumen Este trabajo estudia cómo representar gráficamente un mercado bursátil. Con las series históricas de los precios semanales de las acciones negociadas en la Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago que registran una presencia bursátil anual mayor o igual a 80%, se diseña un mapa topológico del mercado bursátil chileno para 2009 (con base en 58 acciones), 2010 (75), 2011 (66), 2012 (69) y 2013 (65), utilizando una estructura topológica con el algoritmo de Kruskal basado en la teoría de grafos. En 2009 se observa una menor distancia entre acciones de empresas de un mismo sector económico, pero también se observan clústeres compuestos por acciones de diferentes sectores. Esto implica que, para diversificar el riesgo, no basta con invertir en acciones de diversos sectores económicos, sino que también es necesario analizar la correlación entre los retornos accionarios. En 2013, el nodo central del mercado sería la acción del Banco Santander-Chile, que se sitúa en una zona central, enlazando a un gran número de acciones pertenecientes a diversos sectores de la economía. Los mapas también evidencian una aparente inestabilidad en la estructura topológica del mercado bursátil chileno, la que se modifica entre un año y otro, exigiendo mayores actividades de monitoreo para identificar clústeres, acciones líderes y seguidoras. Se espera que el uso de una estructura topológica contribuya a una mayor comprensión de la dependencia mutua en el comportamiento de las acciones. -

Public Health Emergency in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Chile and its impact on the Rights of Original Peoples The following pages are a translation of two chapters from a new report entitled “Emergencia sanitaria en el contexto de la pandemia por COVID-19 en Chile y su impacto en los derechos de los pueblos originarios” recently sent to UN Special Rapporteur on Indigenous Peoples, José Francisco Calí Tzay. This publication, which was produced by the following organizations: Comunidad Indígena Yagán de Bahía de Mejillones (Indigenous Community of Yagán de Bahía de Mejillones), Consejo de Pueblos Atacameños (Atacameño People’s Council), Mesa de Coordinación de Pueblos Originarios del Budi (The Coordination Table of the Original Peoples of Budi), Municipalidad de Saavedra (Municipality of Saavedra), Observatorio Ciudadano and the Plataforma Política Mapuche (Mapuche Policy Platform), covers the disproportionate and structurally aggravated impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Indigenous communities in Chile. The two chapters translated here relate to the actions of mining companies and the regulation thereof in the context of the pandemic. We are highlighting these specific realities as part of an ongoing collaborative effort to bring greater visibility to mining company profiteering during the pandemic. Please note, however, that sections 1-7 and 10 importantly demonstrate the vulnerability that Indigneous and Original Peoples in Chile face with respect to the virus as a result of purposeful government abandonment and exclusion, as well as the disproportionate impact that the virus is having on their communities and their livelihoods. The report includes important testimony and statistics to demonstrate this.
