LOYALSOCK TRAIL HIKE SUNDAY JUNE 26 to SATURDAY JULY 2 Sullivan County, PA Join Troop 72 for the week long high Adventure trip to the Wyoming State Forest and backpack on the 59 mile Loyalsock Trail. This is a trail winds its way through historic Pennsylvania lumber and mining districts. It is known for its 25 incredible vistas & 31 waterfalls and numerous natural areas. The hike also includes a stay at World’s End State Park (showers) as the trail traverses down thru and up out of the park. The trail does have steep grades, but eases them with the use of a lot of old logging & mining roads, skid paths and old railroad grades. This hike is considered to moderate to strenuous. Last night, swim in the Loyalsock creek at the famous Haystacks. Leave 6:00 AM Sunday, June 26 Approximate 3 Hour Drive Brunch at last civilized area. Stash Caches for Mid hike pick-ups and park cars. Day Hike 4 miles to campsite Sunday. Monday Morning June 26 to Saturday Morning July 2. Hike the Complete 59.21 mile Trail. 8-12 miles per day, hike west to east. Full backpack with all essentials for sleeping on the trail. Backpacking food will be the order of the Week Pick-up caches for the hike midway thru hike. Achieve the BSA 50 Miler Award . Saturday July 2 or Friday July 1 (early out) Early out depends on weather and terrain. Short hike out in the morning Pick up cars and people Travel home 3 hour ride.
