Benefiting Homes with Hope

A community designed for children in foster care

Special thanks to our MC, Ron Trevino and our auctioneer, Wes Edmondson. These generous men are counted as “friends” of Homes with Hope and we appreciate their time and talent!

Ron Trevino Not many journalists can boast 20 years of covering Houston’s news, but that’s how long Ron Trevino has been doing it at Channel 11. Trevino is one of KHOU’s award-winning journalists. He anchors “11 News This Morning”. He is recipient of the Dallas Press Club’s Katie Award for Best Major Market Newscast and winner of the United Press International national Broadcast Award for Spot News. The native began his television career while still in high school, at KRIS-TV and KEDT-TV in Corpus Christi, and continued honing his craft at KIII-TV whiled attending Del Mar College. He continued his education at the University of Houston and joined KHOU in 1982 as a producer. At various times at Channel 11 he’s handled reporting, anchoring and producing duties, including a stint as executive producer of the morning news. His assignments have taken him from the war-torn streets of Sarajevo to the masterpiece-filled halls of the Vatican. When Trevino’s not working, he likes reading, jogging and pretending to be a golfer. He’s also a board member of the American Heart Association in East Fort Bend County. Trevino is married with two children and his family is one of Homes with Hopes most recently licensed foster homes.

Wes Edmondson As the Executive Director of Houston’s InterActive Theater Company, he brings over sixteen years of artistic and technical skill as well as management experience. Prior to founding InterActive Theater, he worked with the A.D.Players Theatre in Houston as an actor, theater arts instructor, and manager for a nationwide touring company. Mr. Edmondson has also taught theater arts for grades K through 12, in both the Houston and Friendswood Independent School Districts. As the Administrator of Fine Arts for Heights Outreach, he has worked with educators, administrators and students, offering theater instruction and curriculum to public schools with little or no fine arts programming.
