Souls christus - christ alone. One of the things that can be hard to truly grasp is this realization that Jesus is all you need. Jesus alone is everything. Jesus is the one that we honor and adore to the glory of God the Father. The second person of the Trinity came and lived among us and did for us what we could not do for ourselves. The biggest difference between Christianity and every other religion isn’t necessarily morality or values, culture or rules - it is Jesus. Every other faith says “be better, try harder, love, think, and do more,” while Christianity says, “Breathe. Jesus has done all the work. You are saved - now how will you live in light of this astounding grace?” Jesus alone sets us apart. Jesus alone saves our souls. Jesus alone is the way to heaven. Jesus alone. In the bible. Ephesians 4:1-6. I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with long suffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Romans 5:6-8 6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Questions. 1.) What does “Solus Christus/Christ alone” mean? 2.) How is Christianity the same/different than other religions? 3.) What role does Jesus play in your life? Are you satisfied with that role? Whenever you read the Bible, ask yourself these three questions: 1. What does this tell you about God? 2. What does this tell you about yourself and the world? 3. How is this going to change who you are and how you live? .
