Colorado Personnel History
colorado personnel history The University of Colorado has been blessed with a fiercely loyal athletic staff through the years, starting right at the top. CU has had only six faculty representatives since the end of World War II and has had but six athletic directors in its history. Not including coaches, 23 people have worked at least 15 years for the athletic department in various capacities. Six have worked over three decades: athletic director Harry Carlson (38 years), senior associate AD Jon Burianek (38), sports information director (SID) and assistant/associate athletic director Fred Casotti (35), equipment manager Silver Akins (34), SID David Plati (34), and business manager/assistant AD Kayo Lam (31). The most famous all-time short stint at CU? That could be Wayne Duke, who was SID for a year (1950) before eventually becoming commissioner of the Big Ten Conference. Here’s a look at who’s held some of the more notable managerial and support positions in the history of CU athletics: Faculty Representatives Chief Marketing Officer Operations Director Strength & Conditioning Coaches 1947-1948 Walter Franklin 2011-present Matt Biggers 2006-2014 Tom McGann 1982-1984 Brad Bates 1949-1966 Warren Thompson Chief of Staff 2014-present Jason DePaepe 1985-1989 Mark Larson 1967-1989 William Baughn 2005-2013 Gail Pederson 1989-1992 Jeff Madden 1989-2000 James Corbridge Promotions Directors Community Relations Directors 1993-2003 E.J. “Doc” Kreis 2000-2004 Phil DiStefano 1981-1985 Steve DiTolla 2003-2006 Greg Finnegan 2005-present David Clough
