Patil Benjamin Luke Williams ABHINAVAGUPTA’S PORTRAIT OF GURU: REVELATION AND RELIGIOUS AUTHORITY IN KASHMIR ABSTRACT This dissertation aims to recover a model of religious authority that placed great importance upon individual gurus who were seen to be indispensable to the process of revelation. This person-centered style of religious authority is implicit in the teachings and identity of the scriptural sources of the Kulam!rga, a complex of traditions that developed out of more esoteric branches of tantric "aivism. For convenience sake, we name this model of religious authority a “Kaula idiom.” The Kaula idiom is contrasted with a highly influential notion of revelation as eternal and authorless, advanced by orthodox interpreters of the Veda, and other Indian traditions that invested the words of sages and seers with great authority. -

Hello and welcome! Today I want to talk about the evolution of programmable models for graphics engine programming for algorithm developing My name is Natalya Tatarchuk (some folks know me as Natasha) and I am director of global graphics at Unity I recently joined Unity… 4 …right after having helped ship the original Destiny @ Bungie where I was the graphics lead and engineering architect … 5 and lead the graphics team for Destiny 2, shipping this year. Before that, I led the graphics research and demo team @ AMD, helping drive and define graphics API such as DirectX 11 and define GPU hardware features together with the architecture team. Oh, and I developed a bunch of graphics algorithms and demos when I was there too. At Unity, I am helping to define a vision for the future of Graphics and help drive the graphics technology forward. I am lucky because I get to do it with an amazing team of really talented folks working on graphics at Unity! In today’s talk I want to touch on the programming models we use for real-time graphics, and how we could possibly improve things. As all in the room will easily agree, what we currently have as programming models for graphics engineering are rather complex beasts. We have numerous dimensions in that domain: Model graphics programming lives on top of a very fragmented and complex platform and API ecosystem For example, this is snapshot of all the more than 25 platforms that Unity supports today, including PC, consoles, VR, mobile platforms – all with varied hardware, divergent graphics API and feature sets. -

Novel EOSC services for Emerging Atmosphere, Underwater and Space Challenges 2020 October Cloud-Based Visual Discovery in Astronomy: Big Data Exploration using Game Engines and VR on EOSC Game engines are continuously evolving toolkits that assist in communicating with underlying frameworks and APIs for rendering, audio and interfacing. A game engine core functionality is its collection of libraries and user interface used to assist a developer in creating an artifact that can render and play sounds seamlessly, while handling collisions, updating physics, and processing AI and player inputs in a live and continuous looping mechanism. Game engines support scripting functionality through, e.g. C# in Unity [1] and Blueprints in Unreal, making them accessible to wide audiences of non-specialists. Some game companies modify engines for a game until they become bespoke, e.g. the creation of star citizen [3] which was being created using Amazon’s Lumebryard [4] until the game engine was modified enough for them to claim it as the bespoke “Star Engine”. On the opposite side of the spectrum, a game engine such as Frostbite [5] which specialised in dynamic destruction, bipedal first person animation and online multiplayer, was refactored into a versatile engine used for many different types of games [6]. Currently, there are over 100 game engines (see examples in Figure 1a). Game engines can be classified in a variety of ways, e.g. [7] outlines criteria based on requirements for knowledge of programming, reliance on popular web technologies, accessibility in terms of open source software and user customisation and deployment in professional settings. -

The rewriting of a Tantric tradition: from the Siddhayogeśvarīmata to the Timirodghāṭana and beyond* Judit Törzsök The earliest surviving scriptural sources that teach the Hindu tantric worship of goddesses and female spirits (yoginīs), the Siddhayogeśvarīmata and the Brahmayāmala (composed around the 7th century CE), belong to a corpus of texts called Bhairavatantras.1 The main rituals they prescribe have the same structure as those of the śaiva Siddhānta and Tantras teaching the cult of Bhairava; but their pantheon, their mantras and some of their additional rituals are different, all of them involving mantra goddesses as opposed to male deities. These texts also teach the worship of numerous female spirits, yoginīs or yogeśvarīs, some of whom are goddess-like beings, others are rather human witch-like figures. -

It is regarded to be the abode of Lord Shiva. Because of high altitude, rough terrain, harsh weather, pilgrims are prone to many illnesses Objective: To study the profile, pattern and outcome, among Shri Amarnath Ji yatri patients attending SKIMS in year 2017. Methodology: A prospective study was carried out during the yatra period, all pilgrims of Shri Amarnath ji Yatra who were referred to SKIMS from July-August 2017 were studied and the patients were followed from admission till discharge. The profile, pattern and outcome of illness in Yatris attendingResults: Yatra in the year 2017 was compared with the results of year 2011 and 2015. Out of 97 patients received at SKIMS, 54(55.67%) were having minor ailments and were seen on OPD basis, 43(44.32%) were admitted. 32(74.41%) admitted were males at the time of arrival 14(32.5%) were Road traffic Accidents followed by 7 patients (16.27%) who were Acute Myocardial Infarction. -

The attention to the development of tourist facilities was given from the 3 Plan Period onwards, Early in 1950 the executive part of tourism organization came into being with the appointment of a Tourist Development Officer. He was assisted by some of the existing staff of Home (Transport) Department. In 1960-61 the Assistant Secretary of the Home (Transport) Department was made Director of Tourism ex-officio and a few posts of assistants were created. Subsequently, the Secretary of Home (Transport) Department became the ex-officio Director of Tourism. Two Regional Tourist Offices - one for the five North Bengal districts i.e., Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, West Dinajpur and Maida with headquarters at Darjeeling and the other for the remaining districts of the State with headquarters at Kolkata were also set up. The Regional Office at KolKata started functioning on 2nd September, 1961. The Regional Office in Darjeeling was started on 1st May, 1962 by taking over the existing Tourist Bureau of the Govt. of India at Darjeeling. The tourism wing of the Home (Transport) Department was transferred to the Development Department on 1st September, 1962. Development. Commissioner then became the ex-officio Director of Tourism. Subsequently, in view of the increasing activities of tourism organization it was transformed into a full-fledged Tourism Department, though the Secretary of the Forest Department functioned as the Secretary, Tourism Department. -

This paper compares a number of current game engines available on the market and assesses them against potential military simulation criteria. 1.0 GAMES IN DEFENSE “A game is a system in which players engage in an artificial conflict, defined by rules, which result in a quantifiable outcome.” The use of games for defence simulation can be broadly split into two categories – the use of game technologies to provide an immersive and flexible military training system and a “serious game” that uses game design principles (such as narrative and scoring) to deliver education and training content in a novel way. This talk and subsequent education notes focus on the use of game technologies, in particular game engines to support military training. 2.0 INTRODUCTION TO GAMES ENGINES “A games engine is a software suite designed to facilitate the production of computer games.” Developers use games engines to create games for games consoles, personal computers and growingly mobile devices. Games engines provide a flexible and reusable development toolkit with all the core functionality required to produce a game quickly and efficiently. Multiple games can be produced from the same games engine, for example Counter Strike Source, Half Life 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 are all created using the Source engine. Equally once created, the game source code can with little, if any modification be abstracted for different gaming platforms such as a Playstation, Personal Computer or Wii. -

Tantrism is non-dualistic as it holds the existence of one Reality, the Consciousness. This one Reality, the consciousness, is manifesting itself in the various forms of knower and known. According to Tantrism the whole world of manifestation is manifesting out of itself (consciousness) and is mainfesting in itself. The whole process of creation and dissolution occurs within the nature of consciousness. In the same way he has propounded Rasadvaita Darsana, the Non-dualistic Philosophy of Aesthetics. The Rasa, the aesthetic experience, lies in the conscious ness, is experienced by the consciousness and in a way it itself is experiencing state of consciousness: As in Tantric metaphysics, one Tattva, Siva, manifests itself in the forms of other tattvas, so the one Rasa, the Santa rasa, assumes the forms of other rasas and finally dissolves in itself. Tantrism is Absolute idealism in its world-view and epistemology. -

These Sivalingas are formed out of one single Sivalinga. As per the legend, this five Sivalingas were one which was owned by the Rakshasa King Tarakasura. None could win over him due to the power of this Sivalinga. In a war between deities and Tarakasura, Kumara Swamy and Tarakasura were face to face. Kumara Swamy used his Sakthi aayudha to kíll Taraka. By the power of Sakti aayudha the body of Taraka was torn into pieces. But to the astonishment of Lord Kumara Swamy all the pieces reunited to give rise to Taraka. Kumara Swamy repeatedly broke the body into pieces and it was re-unified again and again. This confused Lord Kumara Swamy and was in an embarrassed state then Lord Sriman-Narayana appeared before him and said “Kumara! Don’t get depressed, without breaking the Shiva lingham worn by the asura you can’t kíll him” you should first break the Shiva lingam into pieces, then only you can kíll Taraka Lord Vishnu also said that after breaking, the shiva lingha it will try to unite. To prevent the Linga from uniting, all the pieces should be fixed in the place where they are fallen by worshiping them and erecting temples on them. By taking the word of Lord Vishnu, Lord Kumara Swamy used his Aagneasthra (weapon of fire) to break the Shiva lingha worn by Taraka, Once the Shiva lingha broke into five pieces and was trying to unite by making Omkara nada (Chanting Om). -
