• Times New Roman is the approved serif font for use as a substitute for either ITC Giovanni Std or Adelle. The book, bold and italic styles of Times New Roman may be considered for use.

• Arial is the approved sans serif font for use as a substitute for DIN 2014. The regular, bold and italic styles of Arial may be considered for use.

3 Seton Hill Athletic Logos PRIMARY ATHLETIC LOGO The primary athletic logo consists of the Griffins mascot atop the Seton Hill shield displaying the text “Seton Hill Griffins.” This logo should be used on official athletic communications, marketing materials and apparel.

The primary Griffins logo is a federally registered trademark. Any use of this logo must be in compliance with these guidelines and approved by the Office of Marketing and Athletics Department. Unauthorized use of Seton Hill University trademarks is prohibited and protected by the trademark laws of the United States. The registered trademark symbol should not be removed from the primary Griffins logo or altered in any way.

ALTERNATE LOGOS Alternate athletic logos include the “leaping Griffin;” a Griffin atop a shield displaying the text “Seton Hill;” and a shield displaying the text “SHU Griffins.”These logos should only be used on Athletic Program communications, materials or apparel.

4 The Seton Hill Crest & Seal CREST The crest of Seton Hill University includes stylized crosses representing the Sisters of Charity and half moons representing the Seton family. It includes the University motto, “Hazard yet Forward.” SEAL Seton Hill’s seal consists of a crest encircled by “Seton Hill University Greensburg, .” COLORS Crest and shield are available in black and white or in crimson, black and gold. No other color variations are permitted. USES The crest and seal should only be used in formal university documents and communications. In most instances, they should be used in conjunction with the main logo. If you are unsure about usage, please contact the Marketing Department.

The Seton Hill Alumni Association Logo The Seton Hill Alumni Association logo is an adaptation of the University seal, a crest encircled by “Seton Hill University Alumni Association.”

USES The Alumni Association logo should only appear on official Alumni Association documents, communications and marketing materials. Contact alumnirelations@ setonhill.edu to obtain permission to use this logo.

All guidelines regarding correct usage mentioned previously must be followed. Additionally, the logo’s placement within the design must allow for easy readability from a short distance and adequate contrast against any background coloring. For poster designs that include a predominately crimson background color that doesn’t allow for good contrast between the logo and background, the Seton Hill lettering (the white text within the rectangle of the official Seton Hill logo) may be considered. All other cases must use the standard logo configuration.
