How to Get Involved How to get involved Toys are the tools of play and Make Time 2 Play would like to get involved with members of the BTHA to help promote the different play behaviours and benefits that their toys provide to children and their families. You can become involved with the campaign in many ways: Social media takeover week • Take over our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter profiles to promote the benefits of your toys to campaign followers. Supply us with social media posts throughout the week promoting your toys, accompanied by the benefits that children can receive when playing with each one. Alongside this we will work with you to come up with activities and crafts linked with your particular toys that children can do to enhance their play experience. For example, if you were promoting a pirate ship an activity linked with this could be to make your own treasure map and treasure. • Other posts could include providing your own play ideas, tips and activities. • Make the most of the takeover by communicating with followers on both your account and the MT2P account, by sharing one another’s posts and linking Make Time 2 Play to your online profiles. • Follow Make Time 2 Play on social media and when you see a benefit you can link to your product; repost the link and say that children can get that developmental benefit from your toy. • Send us links to play ideas you have already created on your website or social media pages and we can promote them through MT2P. • Link to the campaign by adding the “support button” to your website to link your company and products with the benefits of play. Sponsor online competitions • Each month MT2P runs a Facebook giveaway (also shared across Instagram and Twitter) to its 146,000 followers. As part of a social media takeover week you could sponsor that month’s competition by donating some toys to it and you would be credited on any promotional posts. • You can also get involved with our competition without participating in a social media takeover. Any prizes members are kind enough to donate to the campaign are always appreciated and your company would also be credited on any promotional social media posts. Mobile app • Submit your own play ideas and get credited on the MT2P app. • The app gives parents play ideas for 5,15,30,60 minute segments and gives users the ability to tailor the ideas to their needs by location, age and numbers of children playing together. The app does not promote individual products but instead gives play ideas – things that children can do or make themselves. We credit the idea to you / your brand to link the association – for example “make your own dolls house” (add description) – from THE DOLL BRAND. • If you have activities, arts, crafts or play ideas on your own website or social media place – send us links and we can add them to the app and credit the ideas to your company. Share our developmental benefit icons • MT2P has a selection of six benefits that can be shared online and on products to promote the benefits of your toys. -These can be found on our website here: http://www.maketime2play.co.uk/why-play/creative/ . The website describes how children get that developmental benefit from play activities. So using the icons and linking back to the website will show parents how vital play – and your toy – is for the development of their child (as well as just being fun!). • For the logos and artwork for these benefit icons, contact us at the BTHA – [email protected] Advertising • Join our media partners in promoting the campaign – we are grateful to the following channels who donate airtime to promote the campaign – ITVB, Five (Milkshake), cartoon Network, Boomerang, cartoonito, Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Nick Junior, Pop, Tiny Pop, Disney, Disney Junior, Disney XD and DcM Media in Odeon / Picturehouse cinemas. • If you wish to join the channels that promote the play campaign please contact us for the clock numbers. • MT2P has sponsorship idents available should you wish to use the campaign for the sponsorship of a programme. • If you wish to see the three adverts for 2018/19 click here If you would like to get involved or want to find out more information, please contact [email protected] maketime2play.co.uk facebook.com/maketime2play @maketime2play Youtube.com/maketimetoplay Instagram: @maketimetoplay Download our app for free on IOS and Android .
