Background In October 2012, the Cabinet approved the National Integrity Strategy (NIS). Its vision is ‘A happy, prosperous and socially just Bangladesh – the Golden Bengal’. The NIS identifies a wide range of stakeholder institutions such as ministries and divisions, constitutional and statutory institutions, the civil society, commercial and industrial organisations in the private sector, educational institutions, the media, political parties, and families. The strategy defines challenges, goals and recommendations, and action plans of respective institutions. JICA has decided to support for the implementation of the NIS, since the strategy
