Games may shift to a Thursday or Friday to accommodate TV broadcasts. 1 LETTER FROM AD DOUG KNUTH Hello Wolf Pack Nation! Who is ready to watch some Wolf Pack Football?! We are very optimistic about the future and we are moving forward with our sights set on a full and exciting fall sports season. Thinking about being in Mackay Stadium on a perfect fall Saturday, with the smell of BBQ from tailgates and popcorn in the stadium, the sound of the Pride of the Sierra marching band, and cheering alongside all of you brings a lot of joy and hope for me right now. And I hope you share that excitement! Coach Norvell has been building our program and we’ve seen the results with a bowl victory and appearances in three straight seasons, wins over Power-5 programs, the school’s first ever road victory against a Top 25 team, and the Cannon is back in Reno where it belongs. In 2021, Coach Norvell has the Wolf Pack positioned to take the next step as we compete for a Mountain West Conference championship and make a statement nationally. We can all be proud of the work that our student-athletes and coaches have done to put the program in this position. Now it’s time for us to do our part and FILL MACKAY STADIUM! Throughout the past couple of years, our staff has been focusing on improving the gameday experience for you. We’ve conducted a number of surveys and we are listening to, and acting upon, your feedback. Entering this season, we want to ensure that Nevada football games are fun, affordable and easy! FUN We are working to ensure that the tailgating experience can be enjoyed by all with the addition of a brand-new We Are Nevada Fan Zone and food trucks north of Mackay Stadium. We are also revamping our in-game videoboard production and planning new promotional efforts, giveaways and experiences. In addition, in order to enhance the overall in-game atmosphere we are changing the student and band seating sections as you’ll see inside the brochure. AFFORDABLE The cost of tickets has been lowered in 100 percent of the seats at Mackay Stadium compared to our 2019 pricing and we are continuing with our extended payment plans. Also, be sure to look for a number of reduced priced concession items at the stadium. EASY Improvements are coming in many areas to make things easier for our fans. New and improved maps on game day traffic flow and parking, a new customer service/information program called “Ask Alphie” is being developed, and additional and more effective concession operations are on the way. It’s going to be a fun-filled season at Mackay and we need you there! We’ve endured unprecedented times with COVID. Please know that your safety and the safety of our student- athletes will continue to be top of mind as we prepare for the upcoming season. And if there are any disruptions to the season, we will have refund options available to you. I can’t wait to see you all again soon so we can show our Passion for the Pack together. In September of 2020, we launched the Wolf Pack Athletic Association (WPAA). The WPAA was formed to provide a more seamless experience for Wolf Pack donors, fans and alumni and to grow support for our more than 400 student-athletes to ensure they can compete for championships and prepare them to excel in their lives after graduation. The WPAA is a re-brand and re-organization of Nevada Athletics development, tickets and parking, special events and alumni outreach. There is a lot of new information to share. We have created new benefits and updated our priority point system to meet current tax guidelines. I am very pleased to share that your seat premiums (and other giving) will qualify towards WPAA membership. In addition, we also have specific timelines for Membership Drives, Priority Point lock dates, and Select-A-Seat for both Football and Men’s Basketball.     Here’s mud in your eye In October 100 students joined 100 veteran photojournalists in New York for the 18th annual Eddie Adams Workshop, one of the country’s most prestigious invitation-only photojournalism symposiums. David Calvert (inset photo above), a junior in the Reynolds School of Journalism, was among the elite group of students selected to attend. His work scored high marks. The image shown here was taken during the workshop and featured in the Oct. 24 issue of Sports Illustrated, and Calvert will receive a future assignment for the magazine. “The workshop experience was a surplus of visual stimulation.
