Dear Parishioners: THIS WEEK AT HOLY ROSARY The most important thing that we do every day is offer right Sunday, 25 April worship to God. This is the highest expression of the virtue of Fourth Sunday of Easter religion. Other acts of the virtue of religion are things like Dominican Rite: Third Sunday after Easter prayer, devotion, contemplation, etc. All of these help us Coffee & Doughnuts after 7, 9, & 11 AM Masses nurture the right habits in our soul so that when we come Holy Rosary Laity Meeting – 7:30 AM together as the Mystical Body of Christ we are able to worship Monday, 26 April God in Spirit and in Truth. It’s been over a year since we have Easter Weekday been suffering from the Covid pandemic and we still don’t 2nd Gr. CCD – 3:30 PM seem to have a clear view as to when everything will get back to “normal" (please God, the sooner the better!). Tuesday, 27 April Easter Weekday However, we know that no matter what is going on in the Wednesday, 28 April world, we are not children of this world. Our homeland is St. Louis de Montfort heaven. Here, in this valley of tears, we are sojourners. When Dominican Rite: St. Paul of the Cross we are faced with pressures, trials, and temptations we can Thursday, 29 April forget that this place is temporary. We must always remember St. Catherine of Siena to keep our eyes focused on heaven and do what must be done Dominican Rite: St. Peter Martyr, OP here, so to grow in virtue, in order that we may participate Friday, 30 April more fully in God’s grace, so that we might get there, our true St. Pius V home with our heavenly family. Dominican Rite: St. Catherine of Siena, OP I fear that there are many Catholics who have forgotten how Dominican Rite Missa Cantata – 7:00 PM important the act of worship is in living out the Christian life. I Saturday, 1 May have also seen that so many of the faithful here at Holy Rosary St. Joseph the Worker have joyfully returned to Mass with a willing and loyal heart as Father & Son Meeting – 11:00 AM restrictions continue to slacken. However, how many have not Sunday, 2 May returned to Mass and how many will not? This is a sad reflection on both the temptations of the devil, but also on the Dominican Rite: Fourth Sunday after Easter weakness of our humanity. Coffee & Doughnuts after 7, 9, & 11 AM Masses May Crowning – 9:00 AM Mass However, since we are all ambassadors for Christ, in virtue of our baptism, I would ask each of you to invite one person back to regularly attending Mass. It doesn’t matter which parish or what part of the world that person is in. What matters is that FRIARS & STAFF AT HOLY ROSARY we encourage one another, as one body in Christ, to return to as much normality as possible and to do so with a loving heart that is united to God through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
